Do I watch it in the bar I saw us lose to Reading in or stay at home and watch it online?????
(Unfortunately, flying over to the UK is not an option for this weekend.)
-
I vomited after a couple of lines when he went on about deductions being wretchedly unfair on the fans. F\/ck off is my response to him. How about the wretched unfairness of being beaten by players that the fans sang about yet couldn't afford.
What a tosser
I stopped reading at that point.
The guy is clearly a complete tool.

I'm glad I didn't do anything stupid like hire two boats for a riverboat shuffle or anything like that!
Minsk likes this post!!!!!
-
Exactly, that's what I was thinking. Both win next week, then if we win against Coventry while they lose......
That would be oh so sweet!!!!!
Well done Saints; well done Billy; well done Nige!!!!!
I believe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saints Vs Peterborough team tonight: Davis. Butterfield, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox. Chaplow, Hammond©, Cork, Lallana. Sharp, Lambert
And on the bench for Saints tonight are: Richardson, Harding, Guly, Martin and De Ridder
-
Same starting 11 and subs as per Reading match
-
I don't think any of the three teams will win all three of their remaining matches.
My predictions are this:

Skates cheat their way to a 4-3 win (according to Donny 'taters) and as the final whistle is blown Donny fans chant "cheat(s), cheat(s), cheat(s)".
Not sure if at the ref or Skates though!
-
Just convinced my local sports bar to show the match (after I discovered it is on a Russian channel) and have cancelled my last lesson to ensure I do not miss the kick-off!
Somehow, I feel more confident about this match than I did for the Skates one.
Come On You Saints!!!!!!!!!!!

Just on the wages, talking about the deferals...
5.22 Options in respect of player wages were also explored with the Professional Footballers
Association and these resulted in the majority of the playing staff having 25% of their salaries
deferred.
5.23 A small number of non-football roles have been moved from full time to part-time.
5.24 The gross value of the monthly deferrals is c£450k. This figure represents a monthly
increase in the Football Creditor figure.
So 25% of the monthly wage is c450k... so the monthly wage bill is 4 x £450k = £1.8m, annual wage bill is 12 x c£1.8m = c£21.6m
Does that include the 4 they've loaned out? Absolutely frightening!
The real figure must be more than the one you calculated as not all of the players deferred 25% of their wages, just the majority.
Imagine how high the actual wage bill is if, say, TBH refused to defer any of his wage.

That was an epic game
Indeed it was.
Many thanks for the link to the stream!
-
Jammy feckers - no way was that a pen!
Still, 2 points ained over Wet Spam today - 6 points clear with 4 to play.
We only need to win 2 more and they wont catch us (unless something drastic happens to the goal diffs).
-
Excellent first half!!
-
Whilst Brum could catch WHam I dont tink they will catch us or Reading, whereas WHam might, so yes it is a 3 horse race for top 2.
However, I can see Brum winning the play-offs.

Guly
in The Saints
Guly was better than De Ridder yesterday.
Not that either did anything much.
But De Ridders sideway pass to Rocha when through one on one with the 'keeper was shocking!!
Most certainly, it is clear that RM is our problem position.

Oh do shut up you complete numpty!
Fans spilled on the pitch, big deal! The players were the ones that didn't defend, they were the ones that didn't see out the 3 mins stoppage time, Aidkins was the one who didn't change things! Really p1sses me off, "in Nigel we trust" until it goes wrong, then blame the fans
Errmmm, he DID change things. He went more defensive by replacing Billy with Harding. So if you want to blame Adkins then do so by criticising that change and not by saying there wasn't one!

I'm sure this thread will run its course and when there is a takeover completed, or liquidation, the subject is done.
Sour Ho asked for it to be closed in January when he said there was nothing more to say and he didn't find it funny - I would politely suggest he was rather premature, and the subject is funny!
There have been some fantastic contributions from loads of people, and even when the football might be disappointing you can leave the insanity of the main board and come here to laugh at the freaks.
So when the thread does go it'll free up some leisure time, though someone needs to start an All Things Pompey thread to replace it.
But not yet, with the club seeking an urgent takeover, the subject still has legs aplenty.
As always RB, well said!!! (Especially the bit in bold!!!!)
-
Good grief.....
I am happy that I chose to avoid this thread and just concentrate on watching the game.
What a miserable load of doom and gloomers most of you are!
We will win!!
We will not concede another goal!!!
COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought he had quite a good game against us at Nottarf, so am mildly pleased with this news. (Not that it should make any difference of course.)
-
I want them to go down so we can sign Victor Moses to play down the right of midfield.
The first time I saw him play was for England U19s against 8elarus here in Minsk. The England team was captained by our own Jack Cork and included other players like Danny Welbeck, Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge.
Victor Moses was by far Englands best player that day, despite the 0-0 scoreline.
I would be very happy if we signed him.

I had never heard of Samantha Brick before and, quite frankly, think she is a bit of a dog who loves herself.
My missus is far better looking and has a much better body.
In fact, the vast majority of my colleagues and female students are far, far, more attractive than she is!
Also, had I not read the article you linked in post No 9 I would have thought, "What a strange blog"; but having done so I will admit that it is a funny and well written parody.
However, 2nd to last paragraph, the word is "ARE" not "OUR".

Frankly, the role of any kind of authority figure (teacher, police office etc) has now been undermined by emphasis on rights rather then responsibility and a growing culture of parents seeking to 'look after their own' against anyone who would dare criticise a family member rather then try to instill good behaviour and a sense of right and wrong.
I'm sure we've seen the reaction of some parents to an acusation against a naughty child:
"I'm sorry to bother you, but your child just threw a stone through my window!"
"You WHAT!? How dare you suggest that!? What are you trying to say about my family!? You saying i'm an unfit mother....."
Focusing on the deterent for a crime cannot be the be all and end all here, the lack of fundamental respect for rules and guidelines in behaviour in the first place is the key issue. There needs to be a more cohesive front from parents and all other forms of authority towards children so that the boundaries of right/wrong cannot be blurred in the youngster as it grows up.... if a child does wrong it should know that there will be a punishment.
Good post.

They have never had corporal punishment in schools here and the kids are far better behaved, and far more respectful to teachers and adults in general, than those in the UK. However, parents ARE allowed to smack their children.
Personally, I think that the children here are better behaved because 90% of them go to full time pre-school from the age of 2. I believe it is there, at such an early age, that they are taught respect.
Personally, I grew up when corporal punishment was given in schools and certainly saw it as a reason not to get caught breaking the rules. Thus I never received the cane or slipper (I did from my father though). However, my bother (who was much more of a thug and rebel than I) never let it stop him doing as he wanted when he wanted.

Crazy idea/wishful thinking time..........
Surely, all income ceases after their final home match (this Saturday) so to keep the club running for another week or three is a waste of funds and depriving creditors of money. Therefore, they should liquidate on Monday morning (or sooner) or the administrators should be forced to reimburse the creditors to the tune of all monies spent after Saturday evening.
I mean, honestly, why should they keep on paying out when liquidation is virtually a given within a month anyway?
