Legends are relative as your own inclusion of Lambert proves. Legends of my time include Hateley, Biley, Blake, Walsh, Whittingham, Prosinecki, Merson, Berger, De Zeuww, Kanu and many more, who just like yourself I hold in my memory with affection.

I work in Pompey and the only three matches that you lot go on about up there are the two Wembley FA Cup Games & the game against us last week. So thats 2 victories against championship teams & one againts a League One side, both when you had overspent millions on players!

 

If thats success then you can keep it!

By that I mean a successful club going to the wall. Look Paul, if your not going to be even handed then I'm wasting my breath. I'm straight about things, especially comparissons. Portsmouth will be by far the most Successful club to go to the wall in Post war Britain. We've often punched above our weight, for whatever reason (I know what the reasons are by the way, but facts is facts) and I believe we are 'pound for pound' probably the most decorated club in Britain, your bigger than us and since the late 60's been numerically better supported and yet you've won f*ck all in comparrison.

If you go pop and reform it'll be just like AFC Wimbledon, lots of hype and media coverage at the start, then the buzz will fade and you'll find your level with small crowds manly made up of a die-hard element of somewhere between 5,000 - 10,000.

What does the size of the crowd have to do with anything? I've NEVER said we had massive support, I don't particularly WANT massive support, my best Pompey memories are as a young man when crowds of 8,000 were the norm. Some weeks I'd go with every intention of going to the game and end up never making it out the pub! It was all about belonging and whilst i'm aware that'll never be recaptured (as it's part of my youth), it'd be nice to culturally see a return, minus the hooliganism, to what I enjoyed as a youth. Saints can have the support, stick another Teir on your stadium, fill it with 50,000 yellow wig wearing fools chanting Yellows, Yellows, yellows! I'm Pompey till I die mate, never wanted to be anything like your bunch. As you lot love to point out we're very different.

Oh yeah, before anyone gives me any ****, i'm watching the game at home with a nasty case of the sniffles. My missus is taking her mum instead!

PES - I genuinely feel really sorry for you and the other decent Pompey fans. At first the train wreck that is now PFC was hilarious but now it is cringeworthy.

 

It is also fascinating to watch some of my fellow Saints fans revelling in your demise and hoping you go pop.....many of these same people were the same ones who were doing as much bleating as some of your fellow fans. And lest we forget, Mike Wilde completely screwed our club over spending money we didn't have (not as bad as your crooks).

 

It will be a sad day (from a rivalry perspective) when you go pop - however, PFC and the crooks that have run it into the ground, deserve all they are going to get. Basically the club cheated it's way to glory (?) and has screwed over local businesses that will struggle to overcome PFC's lying, cheating and non-paying ways.

 

To the likes of you PES, you have my sympathy....to PFC: f**k them.....the people running it have been lying cheating scumbags for a long time and gotten away with it for way too long.

It isn't going to happen Bobby. After much umming and Ahhring, I have decided to join the (after today) 1000 strong Pompey Trust. Agreements have been secured with various entities to ensure Portsmouth Football Club, the PFC you all know and love, will compete next year. We will of course be no match playing wise for our beloved rivals in the third teir of English Football, the gulf will exist much like it did last week, however I can assure you this will, in no way lessen my affection for all things (ok, most things) Pompey. This will make us stronger than ever and whilst I would never choose it (Too scared of the unknown!), strangely I'm looking forward to it! Should we die in our current form, things will not be better for you, though I wont deny you'll get much short lived (It'll fade soon enough) pleasure from our actual demise. It will be the most high profile 'Death' of a Football club since Fiorentina, our name 'Pompey' will be synonimous with Success, Excess, Mismanagement, Death and finally Rebirth. To paraphrase the great Obi Wan Kenobi;

'Strike us down and we will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!'

Still you guys get back to your Gloating, Pontificating and all round general enjoyment of our high profile demise, I enjoy interacting with you all on here and bear none of you any malice whatsoever, just remember this post in 3 or 4 years as I promise you, the best thing that can happen for you as Saints fans is Porstmouth existing in its current form, Administrated, sold and eventually struggling in the lower leagues, NOT a Liquidated, reborn PFC. Rubbish. The majority of you lot on here were slating the Football League for imposing your 10 point penalty, and bleating on about how SHL and SFC were two separate companies for weeks after everyone else had realised that the game was up, and that they were clearly one and the same entity.

Also, at least half of posters on here were shatting themselves over administration right up until it became clear that it was by far your best option to get new owners to start sniffing around. Now you slate the couple of our fans (and it was only two) who lash out at the PL, one of whom has obviously lost a shedload of money. Who wouldn't lash out in circumstances like that? I agree that Claridge has it pretty much spot on in that what we were doing was only sustainable until Gaydamak pulled the plug, and yes the infrastructure is almost non-existant at Pompey, which makes it a much harder sell than West Ham or Newcastle.

 

There are a few of you on here who are genuinely interested in the game and a bit of light banter. Sadly, many of you seem to live in some bitter and twisted little fantasyland where everyone within the SO postcode has a masters degree and matching Tefal-head, and anyone wearing the star and crescent is some sort of care in the community windowlicker.

PES, that's an interesting - and downright scary - post. However, both of the two links I've quoted here come up in Hebrew - the second only comes up at all after inserting a \ in the url.

 

The other four say plenty about Israeli gangland activity and Shlomo Narkis, but I can't see anything there about the Gaydamaks. I'm not saying there's no connection, just that there's nothing in those links to indicate one.

Pompey-Fans.Com can reveal some potentially intriguing insights into the last few months a Pompey since the 'Al Faraj' takeover.

Israeli media sources claim that Daniel Azougy, far from being a low level fraudster, works as a debt collector for Shlomo, (Shelley), Narkis, who carries the sobriquet 'The King of the Grey Market'.

Narkis is Israels number one 'grey market lender'. He reputedly has a fortune in excess of £200m. People who have owed him money include;

Eli Reifman, whose car was firebombed and who then survived an assassination attempt by machine gun wielding motorcyclists

Boaz Yona the CEO of Heftsiba who fled to Italy when his loans from Narkis were revealed. He was extradited back to Israel and said on his return; "I ran? For shame. Look who's waiting for me in Israel and then you will understand why I didn't arrive."

When mob boss Ya'akov Alperon was blown up at a busy Tel Aviv intersection, Narkis was one of the first people to arrive at his house to offer condolences, and also attended his funeral. Alperons' son Omer, (on day release from prison where he was held on remand charged with extortion), interrupted the proceedings, and in a voice choked with tears said, "We'll send whoever did this to the heavens, he will not have a grave, after we remove his head we'll remove his arms."

An underworld debt collector, Yossi Afriat was killed in a massive explosion which injured 14 people including a baby. Sources who knew Afriat said he was considered a "freelance" debt collector in the underworld, and that he cooperated over the years with criminals, including members of the Alperon family, Shlomo Narkis, and more recently Abergil. Afriat made a lot of enemies in the course of his work, so his murder may not be related to rivalries among crime organizations. The Alperon and Abergil crime families have been involved in a bitter and bloody war.

Despite this series of high profile assassinations the Israeli media have frequently lamented the impotence of the Police in their attempts to make arrests and headway against organised crime.

In February last year, as Arkadi Gaydamaks desperation for liquid funds reached crisis proportions, Narkis and Azougy flew to Gaydamaks palatial Moscow residence to discuss loaning him $50m dollars. Gaydamak denied having taken the loan, said to be secured on his assets. However, Azougy turned up at Fratton Park 5 months later.

It was during this period that Gaydamak claimed Pompey to be among his assets in an interview. Also, in a hearing in a Tel Aviv district court, lawyers for Joseph Traum, (Arkadi Gaydamaks former partner) told the court in Israel that several of the assets said to belong to Sasha Gaydamak are actually owned by his father. The lawyer Shahar Harary said: "We have evidence that the whole Ports*mouth deal was done in Arkadi Gaydamak's home in Israel." Haray said Arkadi Gaydamak constantly writes his assets under the names of his children or foreign companies for tax reasons and to avoid creditors. Gaydamak was not

present at the hearing.

Clearly there was a widespread belief in israel at the time that Pompey belonged to Arkadi Gaydamak.

Arkadi Gaydamak is on the run from French justice having been convicted of tax evasion, and has been charged with money laundering in Israel. He has seemingly removed himself permanently to Moscow, but sources in the Israeli media familiar with grey market operations have suggested to Pompey-Fans.Com he may soon go to Angola where he enjoys diplomatic level protection, after other prominent Russian Jews said to have borrowed in the Israeli 'grey market' were assassinated in Moscow recently.

Azougy, as well as accompanying Narkis to Moscow, was also believed to have offered to negotiate a plea bargain with Gaydamak on behalf of the Israeli Government to settle his money laundering case. If true, it would speak volumes for the close links between Israeli mob and Government. Mr Azougy, despite a whole series of convictions for fraud seems to have been fortunate in receiving remarkably light sentences. In this country, one legal expert contacted by Pompey-Fans.Com has suggested a fourth serious fraud conviction would have carried a long prison sentence. His mob ties and criminal record raise serious questions about his ability to enter and work in this country seemingly with the blessing of the authorities.

Geographically Portsmouth is more like the Penis, with Gosport and hayling like Dangly Ballbags. Southampton water is clearly the anal passage.

Id say their natural level is lower CCC to mid L1. A lot depends on the stadium though. If they lose Fratton Park, they may stabilise in BSP.

 

We're naturally somewhere between 10th and 30th, I'd say.

No way Bobby, I'd say Saints are second only to the Big Four, Spurs, Man City (now they're buying their way to prominance) and maybe, just maybe Newcastle. Massive, Massive club The Saints.

Pompey are not in the same bracket of clubs as Saints. We fall in the same bracket as Forest, Derby, Norwich and Ipswich - to give some examples of clubs with a similar fanbase to us.

 

Wheras the Skates are in the next level down along with the likes of Preston, Watford, Plymouth and Brighton.

 

Even during the worst of times we hover around a 20,000 home gate, but the Skates under the same circumstances would get 12,000 or less.

 

It's the fact that they are inferior to us (in terms of fanbase) that really riles them. They are deluded and just cannot accept it.

Who does not accept it? Maybe it's in the same way 'most' Saints fans won't accept the fact that Pompey are much more successful than Saints at their Raison d'etre? But you won't want to acknowledge that.

If Pompey Stay up Next year Average will increase to 19,000, If we get relegated 12,000 and if we go to the Blue Square 5,000. Personally I could not care less how many go or don't go, I witnessed 200,000 blue clad 'fans' on the common, it all means the whole sum of nothing. I go and mostly enjoy it.
