  1. Also, how come HR is finding it so easy to bypass the rule that you have to spend at least 12 months away from a club before you rejoin?

They got away with it with Defoe, and I think people thought 'yeah maybe that's fair enough as it was only a c ock up that stopped it going through on time last January'.

But since then they have re-signed Chimbonda, who only left Spurs in the summer.

And now they are talking about Keane going back, who again only left last summer.

Does Redknapp have a different rulebook to everyone else?

I think he keeps that rulebook in a brown paper bag!!

  2. just started a game with saints and in my firs 8 games have won 6 and drawn 2...

    -----binya----morgan-----mule

    -----stern----yildirim----obnik(sp)

    medium mentality, low creative freedom..

few click right of middle on the wide selection

    quick mentality (not full)

    direct play (not full)

    tight marking

    counter attack

    deep defensive line (not full)

attacking formation with morgan (forward runs medium) holding..work well with any team...the letf and right strikers tend to get wide with running with the ball alot which frees up space in the middle for euell, binya(forward runs often) and wildirim....if the full backs get forward (forward runs medium) then the wide forwards tuck in..

like I said..works on any team

the 3 strikers have closing down - all pitch

Which Yildirim is that and where'd you get Obnik from??

  3. Lowe will meet the coaches and then address the players.

He will no doubt continue to endorse the "Dutch" way and perhaps give Wotte a more prominent role as joint head coach with JP.

He will site our financial position as being a major factor but will tell the players he will keep faith with their undoubted talent and continue to support their development.

That is my take on the meeting today without any inside or outside knowledge. Hope I am wrong though!

    Nail on head!!

  4. Perception Mark, nothing more.

FWIW, I'm with you, couldn't blame any of them for wanting out right now, and as you say the likes of Drew appear to be stagnating rather than developing as they should be, but then it's got to be difficult being one of the most experienced players in a squad at the age of what, 21??

  6. Would not blame them. In fact Drew Surman is getting in a rut. He is not developing in my opinion and needs a challenge to take him to the next level. He won't get it with kids around him.

Lallana is in a different situation. He needs games at present but also a coach to give/teach him more discipline in his positioning and his movement in the final 3rd of the pitch. Not worried he is not scoring much but I am worried he is not getting many assists either although it was a peach of a pass to Saganowski to score on Saturday

Just your perception Ron or something more?? ;)

  8. TBF he's gonna lose a lot of that in tax so it's not that obscene really.

Also, apparently he makes huge donations to various charities from his wages at AC Milan, who, if he stays for the full length of his contract will be paying him $1Million a month!!!

  9. YAY! I've sussed it now! I didn't realise that I had to create a NAT rule to associate the ethernet with the Dialer1 interface but I've done that now and it's working. Thank fook for that, I've been tearing my hair out over the last two days with this.

Thanks for your help mate, that config that you posted really helped. :)

    No worries... Glad it's sorted!!

  10. Thanks for the help so far guys, it's been very vaulable.

Right, I've made a bit of progress but I'm still a bit stumped. The router is by all accounts connecting to the ISP OK. The connection tests on the SDM tool are passing as successful and using hyperterminal I can ping the DNS server OK, but that's it. Neither of the PCs on the ethernet are able to connect to the outside world even though they are both connected to the router and receiveing an IP address over DHCP. If I try running a tracert on the IP address of the DNS server from my PC, it only gets as far as the router so there is obviously a problem somewhere between the ethernet and the exit interface on the router.

    Anybody got any ideas?

Sounds like a routing problem... Have you checked that the default route is correct? If that looks ok, can you ping and traceroute to 216.239.59.103 (http://www.google.co.uk) from the router?

  11. Yes

Give this config a go... Just change the bits between the <..> to the correct values for your setup.

  12. Yeah I've done all that. It's set up as a dhcp server and kicking out IP adresses to the LAN clients OK. I've set the pvc values (0/38) and that's showing OK. It just doesn't let me add the default route, or it does but when I run the connection test using the SDM software it falls down at the 'checking exit interface' stage which means it doesn't have a default route to send the external traffic to.

I've checked with Plusnet and they tell me that they have 5 different servers that I could connect to each time I log in so it's not possible for them to provide me with a 'next hop' IP address.

Do they require you to connect with a username and password?

  13. I had a look and tried inputing the IOS command like it says on that page but the router doesn't like the command for some reason. I tried it a few times. This is doing my swede in now, I've been messing about with this for the best part of two days!!!!!!

Which command is it failing on??

The process in the link provided is correct but you need to replace at step 6 with 0/38.

Do you want the router to also act as a DHCP server for your local network? If so, then you need to complete the optional setup at step 8 as well. I take it you know what IP range you're wanting to use for any local lan and what IP address you want to allocate to the local lan ethernet interface on the router?

  14. Fairly accurate. He is a (unt though, even though he can manage with money.

Indeed... Anyone else noticed how rent-a-quote has been the most prolific talking manager this transfer window too.... Even had to shout to start with as the window wasn't even bloody open!!! ;)

  15. Not true, or the big clubs with loads of money would never sack managers, which they do. Equally, if your notion had any legs then they wouldn't bother with a manager at all, just give the tea lady a sack of cash.

The truth with Redknapp is somewhere in between, he must have some ability in man-management to keep getting the jobs he gets but he is also very keen on splashing the cash to improve a squad rather than coaching players... And when the cash isn't made available to splash around in his usual manner, as it wasn't during his time at SFC, his ability to improve a squad through coaching is found wanting.

  16. I think it's a measure of how far Saints have fallen. 3-0 was actually a flattering score line, as Man United coasted to victory. No one disputes their superiority, but to not actually be able to compete is the measure. Just a few seasons ago, even the relegation team would have competed. And make no mistake about this Saints being down to 10 men. I'm sure it would have made little difference. The gap is cavernous, and it needn't have been. And that is down to Boardroom decisions and policy, and many millions of pounds inappropriately invested or gone missing.

Think you'll find the "relegation" team lost 0-4 to Man United!!!

  17. Start your own site up then, if you cant handle discussing things affecting Southampton Football Club and want to talk about nice, fluffy clouds and pretty tippy-tappy triangles instead...

Quite happy to discuss things affecting SFC just find it very frustrating that every thread seems to turn into a discussion of the rights and wrongs of Lowe... I agree he's an utterly devisive figure that needs to go for the overall good of SFC but a million threads on here repeating the same old cr*p isn't going to make that happen is it!!

The OP tried to start a thread to discuss something different about SFC and by the second reply the thread had been turned into the same old sh*t discussing Lowe..
