  1. I've already got my tickets for next season, they're £32.50-ish per match. For competitive Premier League matches, as opposed to three halves of kickabouts 2 weeks into preseason training with us not having signed about half the team.

And yeah, I have so far only paid the Cortese Tax once, for my ST this season when it was unavoidable. I ALWAYS go to the ground (or get a mate to go), and won't park in the car park now either.

They also won't post the tickets now anyway due to the proximity, so a bit moot now.

Likewise! But £32.50-ish in this case gets me the three halves, plus an early look at the new players and kit, the Torch and a game against Ajax (plus Udinese for another £14.50). I have driven to the ground before (and had free parking) if I've been going that way, but otherwise mileage and time cost usually isn't worth it against a £1.50 postage charge.

  2. You mean £47 (plus booking fee) of someone's money when bought with the Udinese and Ajax games (which plenty of people will miss one of due to the holiday period); or £25 (plus booking fee) of someone's money for Saturday ?

The 3 match deal is almost decent value at about £16/£17 a ticket, but even knowing I'm probably going to the other 2 matches (which can be bought in two separate months at £20 (plus booking fee)) I can't even justify spending the extra £7 up front for a glorified kickabout, would much rather save the money for a trip to the Etihad or Emirates.

Bearing in mind you'll be spending £35 or more for a ticket next season, then yes it's good value. Buying the £47 deal you only pay the booking fee once as well, if it worries you that much. Unless you really want to waste time and money going to the ticket office to buy with cash, rather than having them post the tickets for £1.50.

  3. Don't think there's anything wrong with the format, personally. Three good sides at the start of season training, a bit of competition, photo and autograph opportunities for the kids, plus the Torch. Gotta be worth £15 or so of anyone's money, i.e. when bought with the Udinese and Ajax full games.

  4. song for clynne

the ball on the clyne is all mine all mine

the ball on the clyne is all mine

we can have a wee wee

    cause

the ball on the clyne is all mine all mine

the ball on the clyne is all mine

or (same number of silly bulls)

Na-than-i-el Clyne is all mine all mine.... etc

  5. Get well soon Whitey. I guess you're in CCU, so probably limited visitors otherwise I'd stop by. I'm up there a couple of times a week for work - be up there on Monday in fact.

  6. The quote as reported in the Guardian:

"My opposite number, who was the City minister for part of this period and Gordon Brown's right-hand man for all of it … he has questions to answer as well. That's Ed Balls, by the way." Speaking of Brown's government, Osborne said: "They were clearly involved and we just haven't heard the full facts, I don't think, of who knew what when."

Seems pretty clear who Georgie-boy was referring to, no ambiguity there.

  7. Got to agree I've used the Nokia lumia range and they are great and fast and also love the fact they retained Things like Nokia drive and music.

Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2

Seeing the phone you're currently using, how would you compare the experience of Nokia with Windows against the Desire with Android? I've got a Desire that I've enjoyed for the past two years but am now looking to change, but I'm split between the X One, Galaxy S3 and the Lumia 900.

  8. What intrigues me is Taylor's reference to PAST payments outstanding. Is he referring to Sol Campbell's old 'image rights' claim and TBH's claim that he lost £2m in the 2010 administration? Or is he talking about the deferred wages that have been stacking up since February? Or both?

If the former, presumably this means the football-related debts from 2010 have NOT yet been settled in full and now won't be. Ergo, if these are now rendered down against the wishes of the players, surely the Golden Share could be withdrawn if the FL have the balls to do it (yeah, I know the answer to that one).

  9. Two things:

One: It looks like you have access to another computer. You could try rigging the hard drive to the second computer (as a slave) to retrieve your data and save it onto a portable drive.

Two: Dump Vista. Horrible piece of crap. The day after it came out a senior MS programmer advised someone I know not to upgrade to it. Windows 7 is what Vista should've been and is far, far better.

  10. Jamie Ashdown believes Pompey will benefit from bringing their training base back to the city. (nice spin, Jamie).

The Blues look likely to leave their Eastleigh training ground and are on the look out for a new set-up.

And Ashdown reckons it will be a positive move to ensure their new home is back in Portsmouth.

Trevor Birch has admitted Pompey are looking at their options, with the Eastleigh lease weighing heavily on them.

The Blues’ former base at HMS Collingwood and a site on Portsea Island have been mooted as possible options moving forward.

I must say, the blue painted dwellings and the palm trees gently swaying in the breeze give it a real 'Island in the Sun' look. Perhaps that's a native's blowpipe in the right foreground?

  11. Hammond is a pr*ck, but Michael 'The Fish Course' Gove is an utter c*nt.

The man has absolutely no idea what he's doing. He goes against all logic, disregards all sensible and researched advice and has complete contempt for the workforce. Driven by pure political dogma. The problem is that most kids are in the education system for at least 14 years. It can be up to 20 years before the effects of change are seen. How many wild changes in policy have taken place over the last 20 years?

Anyway, back to the thread - not sure if PWRR do recruit a lot from the Commonwealth, though?

  12. Ah, but in HD the pinstripes will be clearly visible!

Seriously, though, i can see the shorts being swapped around for some matches where the home side wears a single-colour strip, e.g. Chelsea away. (and red socks with Chelsea wearing white ones)

  13. Because the British Army is built around the Regimental system, around which is centred a unit's esprit de corps, morale - call it what you will. It's the soldiers' family and support, a sense of belonging if you like, a source of pride.

As for capabilities, the 1st battalion of the PWRR is the main fighting battalion. Take it away and you're left with a rump of a light infantry battalion (probably understrength) and a TA battalion.

The MoD need to look at cutting their own bloated organisation before cutting the muscle of the armed forces yet again.
