  1. Just watched the extended highlights on Saints Player. Anyone doubting our attacking performance needs their head checked. Some lovely football and good chances from a variety of sources.

Our main striker (lambert) had zero shots on target all game and touched the ball in the area just twice..........

  2. Not sure what your point is?

That's a pretty decent showing for a sub coming on at half time for his first PL action of the season.

Looks to me like he is doing in that graphic exactly what he was meant to do? 97% passing rate (probably our highest stat for any player in any game this season).

I thought he gave us a bit of tempo at the start of the second half, his ball speed is better than VW's and he got us on the front foot a bit quicker which led to the first equaliser.

He was involved in the second goal we conceded, poor decisions/technique/options from Gazza then Shaw then Cork got sacked.

We were saying at 1-1 (and us absolutely flying) when are they going to score another goal from a defensive cock-up, sure enough it arrived right on cue!

Ridiculous scapegoating of Cork on a couple of threads that I've seen (I haven't read all of it yet, traffic awful last night. got in at 01-45 this morning after dropping my Villa supporting nephew in Horsham, the longest journey, not a happy bunny this morning!)

    Well said

  3. Under MP: 47 goals in 30 games.

Under NA: 30 goals in 22 games.

    You do the math.

I´m great, thanks for asking. Just thought someone on here need to take the job as lie detector so therefor my posts have changed a bit.

Strangely I need to post a lot after your posts in that job....

Ok without insults, whats your thoughts on my post (70) above?

  4. Sorry, how do you work out that Gazzaniga was at fault at all for any of those goals last night?! Only someone with an agenda against him could suggest that. The first and third goals he had absolutely no chance with. The second I can maybe accept one might argue he could have come for the cross but to be fair, the ball should a) never have been crossed in the first place and b) Yoshida can't lose his man 7 yards out.

No agenda here, I am apathetic on gazza just now. Hes not played enough for me to judge him truely.

I applied a small percentage of blame as he is the GK and its his job is to block the ball from entering the goal, its also his job to move off his line when danger approaches. Sadly for Gazza he demo'd neither quality last night so must shoulder some small blame.

  5. the great advantage of the WUMs (as far as admin are concerned I suppose) is that they're here all day, every day. So it keeps the post count regular, perhaps the forum could get a grant from the Job Centre for letting them practice their communication skills.

Says the guy with 21,000 posts! Pot, kettle

  6. In hindsight I would keep Duncan on the board because he has lots of good sources.

That 110 Persaint guy is a loon though, and contributes nothing. I think he likes you as well Glasgow, seems to copy your sort of style.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

However I like 110% and think he is probably the 2nd best poster on here atm

  7. Don't worry bout it, you're already paying for 4 or 5 different accounts i wouldn't want to add to your burden. Not in the current economic climate. I was just surprised is all cos I've always considered you one of the most knowledgeable and successful football tipsters on saintsweb, if not the whole internet.

everyone has a few user accounts right?

  8. facts that the team is scoring more under Pochettino than under Adkins...

 maybe think before you post?

Why have you become one of them posters that just posts about other posters? you used to have a decent view on things and an opinion I respected. lately its just abuse and nonsense.

    are you ok?

  9. Thing is a lot of their best players are on loan, which is clearly unsustainable. Barry, Lukaku and Deofelu have scored not far off half their goals this season in the league, players which (possibly Barry apart) won't be there next season.

Yes he's doing well, but I just wonder if long term they are not in something of a false position. They will likely also need to replace Distin for next season, which will not be easy to do on the cheap.

some good points - think most sides would be improved by Lakaku

shame we couldnt get him on loan

  10. Agreed. We should have made more of the possession we had, the amount of time we spent in and around their penalty area and the amount of attempts we had.

And again we frequently had the chance to break forward quickly but stopped and waited. We're a slow team - not in terms of pace and running, but tactically.

Last night was frustrating, but the theme has been there since mopo arrived. We play far to central and sideways and try to walk the ball in.

Mopo doesn’t play with "wingers" but most of our goals come from crosses from the wings (both last night for example) its almost like he is too stubborn or is simply missing what we are good and effective at.

Its simple………..get the balls out wide, deliver a decent cross to back post - Lambert gets the nod back = someone taps it in. Its worked for 3 years so why is he so determined to change an effective/working formula???

Lambert has to drop so deep to get the ball now its ridiculous – last night he didn’t manage a single shot on target and touched the ball in the box only twice!! One setup a goal for Osvaldo and the other created a great chance for Lallana in the 1st half. He is effective in the 18 yard box – not so much around the half way line. Mopo doesn’t seem to have recognised this

  11. I put this up a couple of weeks ago and certain posters stated I was now on their ignore, that their perogative but its ironic some are now prepared to actually see where we stand.

Some posters on here don’t post about football, they simply post insults to other posters and complain that the forum is not as good as the old days. You do post about Saints and rarely insult other posters but get called a troll (go figure(!?)

You then have some posters who are simply argumentative and simply take the opposing view of the posters they “hate” – I have experimented with this and it was proven after I showed love for Sharp and then Cork, all the clappers who say “support the team” suddenly hated Sharp and Cork. They do however love Guly (no goals in 2 years) Da Prado, Ramirez and Osvaldo “coincidently” as I don’t.

You cant be sensitive to the posters on here as the ones that cry foul and start threads about the forum/ good ol days are imho the biggest bores and trolls on here.

Stick to guns as I for one think youre a great poster – you have an opinion and don’t sit on the fence. This place would be very dull with opinions

  12. Raised the problem with endurance after a few games -

We saw the same last season - good for mopos first 8-10 games then awful for the next 6-7

Casualties of the formation are injuries (we are now getting a lot), suspensions and player fatigue.

Forfeited the cup already and now paying the price in the league. Said when mopo arrived that if the pressing game was easy all teams would do it.

  13. I think Yoshida has to be more aware of the striker just behind him also, not a big mistake but could have defended it better.

I have given the blame for the 1st goal to Yoshi

    1st goal = 80% Yoshi, 20% Gazza

    2nd = 40% Lovren, 40% Cork, 20% Gazza

    3rd = 90% Yoshi, 10% Gazza

  14. Kudos all round - Everton are playing well, scoring goals and look good at the back.

Alot of us thought Martinez would fail but he is doing a grand.

Lost a key player in Fellaini and lost Baines to injury

Sometimes you just have to stand back and just say :toppa:
