Very underwhelmed with his appointment but he has jone a fantastic job. I don't remember watching a saints side and feeling so confident of the end result. His situation experience has proven invaluable in the last few weeks, I really hope he can go on and continue what he has started next season.

 

Tonight I hope he, the players and staff enjoy a few drinks and reflect on what they have achieved together. Absolutely fantastic.

Think he may have something to say about that as most of them have to play an exhibition game tomorrow

They only got kicked out of Hedge End 4 months ago and have already made the papers for causing trouble. The police car opposite their house in Hedge End was practically a land mark, you know turn left pass the police car.

First game I can vividly remember was Saints V Chelsea on 6th January 1968 as a 9 year old, we lost 5-3 with Forsyth, Jones, Hollywood, Gabriel, Webb, Walker, Paine, Chivers, Davies, Byrne (Judd), Channon in the team, one goal scored by Channon and 2 goals scored by Big Ron Davies unfortunately Chelsea got 5, but by then through thorough indoctrination I was an avid saints fan.

Considering that "with a little bit of help and a few players [automatic promotion] might have been us this year" you really have to say that an average home attendance on 15707 is quite, well, crap.

 

Hell, even when we had to play the likes of Jamie White, Jake Thompson and anyone else we could afford and ended up relegated bottom we still averaged 17849 at home.

 

By my reckoning, that figure also puts "the best fans in the world" 13th overall in the Championship this year.

Micky Channon used to get more than his fair share of penalties - he was so fast that it was difficult to tell whether they were genuine or not though.

I think Micky Channon spent the 3 months during the summer at RADA practising his diving skills ready for next season.

I was thinking Converse Sports Initiative or CSI for short, would be quite appropriate buyers, as the daughters tell me that on TV CSI only turn up when there is a dead body, which seems quite appropriate for the Skates first team.

Was @ Orient in '78 when the draw there was more or less enough to get us promoted. Fantastic support there, Fred D was there covering the game for ITV and was suitably told what we thought of him. Plus the wall coming down at the end, was part of the surge forward to get onto the pitch when it collapsed, great night. Now onto London again to secure our promotion!!!

2 promotions and 3 relegations, hope to level it up this year, was at Orient when we got a draw.
