  1. a low turn out and a no vote will keep this issue at bay for another generation and we can get on with more important issues like sorting the fuking country out
  2. but that is the USA.... they get all excited about 4th july.....its sort of frowned upon and unbritish/english to get excited like that about our national days...deffo st georges day japan get all excited about the emperor thailand get all excited about their king each country is different and has different things that draws many people together...cant think of too many occasions that bring so many together and get communties socialising like our royal family...like it or not now, if england could somehow win the world cup.............................
  3. meh, either way they will be here for a long time yet as they do no harm.....as long as it stays that way the appetite to remove them will remain like it is today..pretty much null and void
  4. it may be possible...it may be not...but it IS possible right now for 65p a year....isnt that a small price to pay to bring communities together now and then....nothing else really does it anymore..and I thought that is what we want...?
  5. I think brighton will not lose this one...a draw me thinks brighton have lost 1 game at home all season and were desperate to win that... I think they want 100 points still and the last game was a shocker and we beatthem before that.. greer is back for them and I will be amazed if they fail to score at home... 1-1 for me (and hope) all well and good brighton fans saying their players have lost their motivation....how the hell would they know..? the did not lose it when they played us and the last game poyet said he would make some changes for that..I expect to see a stong line up today
  6. belmadi was similar...even fabrice fernandez in a way

    James Beattie

beattie at his best would rip apart the NPC...but that was a long time ago... shame really as he was superb for us and rightly got his england cap..
  8. well done.. you "win" when's the revolution..?
  9. yes, they are their own..and what we have is ours.....
  10. yes, that is exactly what it is....you boring ****k **** it must burn you inside living in the UK...(if you even do) a tory government likely NO vote in AV simply no appetite for a republic like a living hell for you I should imagine...lol
  11. i dont have to answer anything you demand....I have never seen them abuse/use any powers that they may or may not have without the lead from the government of the day... I would argue that MAYBE someone like the queen would be a safer pair of hands of any powers than the likes of gordon elected by the people brown....that is another arguement
  12. but we are not those countries..they have their own defining characteristics....one major one of ours is our royal family...that were watched today by around 2 billion people
  13. like I said..in my eyes they dont have power..they do what the government say...
  14. not really, no as they dont have any in my eyes...they are puppets of the government we elect...
  15. if they had any real power then yes...if they ordered me to take part and kill people in iraq then yes...if they ordered me to take part in blowing up kandahar then yes... oh wait, that was our democratically elected lot.. the family have no powers and any exercised is done so if the government require them to do so... so no, have no problem with them at all
  16. why... the support in this country (and in others who share our head of state) to remove them simply is not there at all.. we live in a free country, we are free to start a republican movement...any of the main parties are free to set their stall out to do so....why dont they.? why doesnt anyone..? simply because, it is not wanted in this country....
  17. better than being a bitter/twisted ****
  18. oh well...no matter what you say, they are here for all our lifetimes and probably our grand kids lifetimes... when you see 1 millions people+ having a great time in london...millions more in the uk enjoying the day and an estimated 2 billion people world wide watching and even the aussies polling more support for the royals than they have for a very long time.......guess we should enjoy celebrating being british when these days come around..
  19. i had to add the "pretty much" otherwise Matt Le God would have informed me of my wrongness
  20. I am buzzing about tomorrow...it could be it we win, hudders lose and thats (pretty much) it... not too much to ask for is it..?
  21. absolutely loves it here desperate for success 22nd at the start to 2nd and nearly there not interested in the brighton/hudds game as far as he is concerned hudds will win their next 2 games 1 game at a time, we have it all in our hands tries to give the squad the belief/desire/tools to get over the line brendon rodgers went on to say southampton have big plans for the future, thats for sure huge support down there easily premier league set up would not surprise him to see us immediately challenging should we go up expects us to get the 2 wins required feels for huddersfield
  22. why not...it is something extraordinary that makes us as a country unique...I know other nations have a royal family but not a chance in hell would they get as much coverage like what happened today...I am happy to pay my 65p per year for that. when we plough billions into europe and god knows what else for what..? 65p a year per person (tax payer) to have days like today, when we are told community spirit is dead and the young people come together in their millions to do nothing but celebrate being british (i know that is unfashionable to do that) then that has to be worth the small price.. the royal family have little or no impact on my day to day life...that is someone in the armed forces then I cant see the problem in what hoe public would have...o its all a bit of fun...they have no real power over you, they dont make decisions that effect you, they dont harm you...they do, (help) make this country something different than another european state
  23. which they do when the people WE ELECT tell them to..... cant really say that anything they have done has had a negative impact on my day to day life....
  24. what do they over lord then..?
