  1. 1st January according to Wikipedia. Just avoided relegation and now doing the job we all knew he was capable of (well you and me DD!)
  2. Er, you really think they all got their teams winning and changed the mentality in under 10 games?? Parkinson??!!!!! Davies??!!! Bloody hell man, do you own a calendar...
  3. Look how long it's taken Billy Davies. He would have been hung, draw and quartered on this forum long ago...
  4. Agreed, but to meld new players into a unit is a skill that not all managers have - ask Mark Hughes! Too many people don't get what Pardew has done in such a short time. That does not mean he is the only good manager, but it does make him a GOOD manager. It's a shame we still have a few idiots who can't see it. (They ought to turn the mind back to the last two seasons once in a while).
  5. Really? They had one crap result and fired their manager. And that result might have been a total fluke. Look at Wigan's 9-1 loss. I don't remember them coming out of administration, with new owners and then having to buy eight new first team players...(Harding, Trottman, Jaidi, Lambert, Hammond, Waigo, Antonio, Connolly).
  6. Jesus was a legend from birth. Legendary status can only be conferred many years later but he could still be in the making...
  7. Likewise!
  8. As far as West Ham goes, there is a good chance we'll be playing them next season!
  9. If there were medals handed out for talking sense, the bloke would have a cabinet full.
  10. I think Sherlock and Persimmon have more chance miself...
  11. It's there. Take the first letter of each work that starts with a vowel and the last letter of each word that starts with a consenant. As with all these messages from God, it is imperative one knows how to read them.
  12. Hahah. ITN is out on loan to some cheeky barsteward who is taking far too long to read it. Mind you, he is a fan of that lot so perhaps it's difficult to lift his knuckles off the floor to turn the pages... I don't find any of your posts offensive - bonkers sometimes maybe. But like I say, we all post drivel. And long may it continue. Just don't let any of yours make it into print...
  13. If there was a cure for stupidity we'd lose half the posts on this forum.
  14. This post is misleading. We lost to Huddersfield on the 2nd Saturday of the season. They were 4th, on 4 points after 2 games. When we lost to Swindon on Tuesday 18th August they were 13th in the League (not top 6). And we had Ollie Lancashire at full back with Thomas! When we drew with Colchester, they were 7th, not top 6. We lost to Bristol Rovers who were 3rd (now 7th). We beat MK Dons who were 4th. When we beat Walsall they were 7th (1 point outside the top 6). Yes, it's true we have not beaten any of the current top six, but only three of them have beaten us: the League Leaders on Saturday and then Huddersfield and Swindon who played us on the 15th and 18th August respectively. Does this show some malaise or something??
  15. Duncan, there are plenty of us who can discern some of your drivel on here (hands up we're all guilty milord of proliferating cobblers opinions) from your excellent work for Hagiology [spel?]. Match of the Millennium, Dell Diamond, etc are my favourite bog reads - and trust me that is a compliment!!!!
  16. Luckily, so long as I repent all my sins, he grants me a get into Heaven free card all the same. Or at least he does in the Christian religion. Mind, if he doesn't let me in, I shall pop next door and ask the Muslim fella. And then if that doesn't work, ask Vishnu to bring me back as a pigeon and crap all over Fratton Park...
  17. I thought it was relatively widely recognised he was probably born in March/April - especially given the respective lunar positions of those months in relation to the star the wise men might have followed. I think Christmas is celebrated on 25th December to coincide with Roman traditions of worshipping the sun on this date (Soli Invictus); essentially because Emperor Constantine was fed up with people not working and having lots of time off to celebrate different religions/Gods on different days and not building any bloody roads! With the spread of the Roman Empire, it is no surprise to find the spread of the Roman Catholic 'Christ-mass' taking off. As to the bloke in the red suit, pass...
  18. The s is silent. As in night.
  19. Nice (Tbh, I think Nicolas has a thing going with my missus and me being there during the day came as a surprise...)
  20. I find it odd that people pray fot a football club. It is the definition of insanity in my view to believe that an ominpotent being would choose to answer the call of a few hundred football fans but ignore the millions starving worldwide... Strange priorities this God has. Or was it Marcusio, the God of Football we were praying to?
  21. Out of interest, what would they have to do to go up in your estimation?? Personally, I am wondering what else they could do to be better owners??
  22. He knocked on my door and told me, so better than some yes, better than me, no...
  23. Not really, God is a delusion inflicted on the massess by those who would rather they didn't know too much...
  24. It is not ironic that we are called 'The Saints'. It is deliberate since we were formed by young men from St Mary's church - what is more surprising is that more teams (who can trace their origins back to church youth organisations) are not called the Saints. We can therefore deduce that God is Saints fan and that far from being conflicted with football, He would be delighted to see a full house on Boxing Day joined together in worship with His team.
