  1. sacking is wrong - but I support the Saints - always have done, always will, managers come, managers go, players come, players go, even chairman come and go.......still I support the Saints.......a new chapter has started - let's hope it is as good as the last one.

Good luck to Nigel and thanks for your time with us.

  2. Looked at my opening post on this thread

One of my holds was Gulf Keystone

Now, it is 95% of my portfolio, in part because of its share price

My average price is 266p and the price today is 360p

Personally I think it will get into double figures this year, although there is some risk. With hindsight I wish I had bought more back in the day, but overall I am sitting on a £13k profit and growing by the day,

    Do your own research

Thought I'd take a quick look at how GKP were doing....160p. Are you still confident about future of this share? Must be a good buy now?

  3. Allardyce comments:

It's disappointing that Reading and Southampton won again but that's not in our control is it? I was pleased Reading scored four in the one game actually. That was a waste and unnecessary. As it turned out one would have been enough so what's the point in netting another three? We talk a lot on the training field about doing what's necessary. Reading could regret using up four goals in the one game if the next match ends up 0-0 or 1-1. Like we did after the Blackpool game. I warned the boys after that game that I didn't want us scoring unnecessary goals again. Every one should count. Goals are precious in football and shouldn't be chucked around like confetti at a wedding. If Reading are going to be that profligate, I can't see them staying the course."

  4. Thanks for responses but looks like i need to wait a while before i get to enjoy the game. I've been told:

Your current laptop features onboard graphics, in effect handled by the processor, so in order to obtain compatibility with shader model 3.0 you would in fact need to upgrade to a more recent laptop with either a dedicated card that supports this or to one with an onboard facility that offers this support.

  5. You can look at this two ways really, one that NC is a ****ing megalomaniac that will damage our club; or that we have a chairman that's setting standards to achieve what's needed for success.

The sad truth is we're unlikely to see the truth for a few seasons yet and personally i think the second is more worrying than the first in some ways, since if we don't get promoted this season what's to say he won't encourage the sale of the club?

Doesn't this decision (whether it is right or wrong) show that not only is the money still there but the long term desire to see success is still with the Liebherr family (and NC). If there was no passion for the future then you would just let things run there course under AP

  6. This is all so depressing. Anyone who expects a new manager to have instant results is very likely to be disappointed. I agree with Weston that we shall need a different manager to get us out if this league than the one who takes us to the Premiership. The only name that I have read that I think might fit that bill is Poyet. I started this season full of optimism but at the moment I have a nasty sinking feeling.

why is it that if Saints have a new manager he will take time to get results, yet if it is our opponents they will beat us as they have the "new manager" effect?

  7. This is a maasive decision for NC to make. He is almost in a no win situation. If we go up it will be based on APs work, if we don't.....then NC will be the reason for failure.

I don't believe NC is stupid, so I can only assume that he sees major issues in what is happening off the pitch that he believes will effect the long term success.

I was never a big AP fan. I reckon most managers would have achieved at least what AP did given the resources he had, but I do believe he would have taken us up this year. So my big issue is the timing of this decision. It can only harm our prospects this year.

NC must have considered this and still thought that it was right.
