will the HMRC pick up on that?
I would hope the HMRC team is at least as clued up as people on this forum.....
-
If the News are reporting correctly then it appears that HMRC are not pushing a legal angle but just saying "it's not fair".....not strong grounds for a win.
Can see skates getting away with it........leaving Storey to face the music.

A thread with no petty bickering between Saints fans......slow day in court - Skates accused of tax evasion....

Famous fans? why no mention of Lester Piggott or Ken Dodd?

What I don't understand is, if the meeting is basically to sack the manager, why wait to Wednesday, now Thursday, the following week? Both parties were at St Mary's on Saturday after the match, why not just do it then? Doesn't add up to me.
Perhaps it is AP that will not commit until he knows he can't get the West Ham job. Maybe, just maybe it is NC that wants AP to stay and AP is not sure

I posted this on the "Other Thread" on the main forum but add some comments to it
Now, let us examine some of the things we have already seen made public.
- Storrie has stated his belief in public that the money came from Arcadi - major Breach of PL rules bordering on criminal
- Statement that money was owed to an Un-Registered Agent in respect of transfers from French Clubs of players - major breach of UEFA regulations
- Financial Statement made to PL in January regarding the Transfer Embargo stating that the club did not have any major financial problems and allowing them to sign loan players (for whom they have NOT paid any fees) - major breach of PL regulations and could possibly be fraudulent.
Now we KNOW that there is a precedent for the FL imposing a points penalty if they believe an unfair advantage is being gained - it happened to us.
We KNOW that Luton were given a points penalty for illegal payments to agents.
We have NO IDEA what the penalties could be for Fraud or possible Criminal actions regarding financial statements and ownership issues.
Assume for one moment that AA's plan DOES allow them to reform as a shell club for 5 years having all their money sucked out to repay the 20% of the debts, there are AT LEAST 20 points in penalties that COULD be applied that have nothing to do with the "methodology" of their escape route.
Does ANYONE honestly believe that the CCC clubs and the rest of the FL clubs would vote to be NICE to an operation that has without ANY shadow of doubt brought Football into Disrepute?
PCFC's appalling Corporate Compliance will have massive ramifications for the rest of Football. ALL regulations will be tightened up and loopholes closed. A lot of this will add new admin or legal costs to other football clubs. And you guys WORRY that the FL will be nice to them....
Yeah right, they're toast
All sins committed as members of the PL. What have they done wrong as members of the FL that will force the FL to punish them?
Let me join "the buggers are going to get away with it" camp.

What is interesting is that under a Labour vote that is about as low as it can go they have a chance of hanging on and a Conservative vote that will go no higher cannot secure a majority government.
This gives rise to two conclusions:
1. The electoral system is possibly unfair and in need of overhaul.
2. The Conservatives who claim to be the party of change are not offering enough change to get beyond mid-30%. They are still not reaching out enough. This is partly because they refuse to dump "traditional" Tory policies that are unpopular elsewhere - fox hunting, reform of the Lords, abolition of hereditary peers etc.
Both points need to be addressed if the Tories are to gain extra popular votes in today's Britain.
Britain is the issue - no problems getting a majority in England.....

"'In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." oh well can't use that quote again as you don't have to pay your taxes....cheating buggers

Board (corrupt the lot of them)

my view is that PL have known for while that PFC are trading while insolvent (and documents produced by PFC for PL prove this). Only way to cover this up is to help PFC pay off HMRC and the winding up order is dropped.
Question: without a winding up order, if a company is trading while insolvent, how would this be raised and who would investigate?
-
I think the line was they provided something 'similar' to the PL. One assumes it was produced in-house and not by an independent firm Once must also assume that it did not show them as being insolvent as if it did and it came out that the PL knew they were insolvent and did nothing they would be in the poo. The question then is was the document accurate or was it another creation by the fraudster? If the latter how well could the PL check the document to see if it was a correct representation?
so we need to get the court to say - "and can we see the Statement you provided to the PL" as either the Board of PFC provided false data to the PL or the PL allowed an insolvent club to continue
-
Statement of Affairs - did I read somewhere that PFC had already provided this to the PL in January? If so it must prove that the club is solvent or surely the PL would have acted on it?
-
The term statement of affairs is also used to describe a type of balance sheet that shows immediate liquidation amounts, as opposed to acquisition or original costs, and is generally prepared when insolvency or bankruptcy is about to take effect.
I take it that current player asset valuation will be discounted as they can not be sold until next transfer window
-
Always makes me wonder if players try different positions in training. How do you know the best position of anyone? Kevin Philips a fullback? Wayne Bridge a winger.....Dion Dublin - did he play upfront or centre back as an experiment. Always though JPS would have made a good cente forward .......

I rate you Burger...

...Now what do you think of Holmes?
about as much as my typing skills.
Seems like other have a different view - can't see what they are seeing that I'm not.
-
agree, have always liked Holmes just hope he stays fit. But i dont think he would have played yesterday had AL been fit.
I thought Holmes was very poor yesterday. Not involved enough, slow and uncreative. Even cossing straight out of play when under no pressure. I don't rate me one bit and completely understand why Derby did not want to keep him.
...but he still has time to prove me wrong...
-
Who else have they got to play in goal if James & Begovic both leave lol?
If Spurs do buy Begovic - he will be loaned back till end of season
