  1. Aw, no. Not another one.

My heartfelt condolences to Chappers and family. I have 4 little ones, and losing any of them would destroy me.

I can't even begin to try and think of losing any of mine. R.I.P. Little one.

  2. Gives the drama queens an excuse to leave their mattress protectors on.

Presumably you ran this by MLG for correct context and grammar? Him being somewhat of a fan of early close season signings and all.

    Just a thought.

Making the point that there was hardly any press coverage of this case.......

I'm just wondering if the proportions of abusers are similar in both ethnic and white communities?

The question which The Guardian is asking is "Why did the specific case gets little or no exposure from the tabloids etc"

Surely one of the purposes of the press is to challenge people's opinions and views, rather than play to their fears? It's a vicious circle.

  4. It's OK....they didn't want him anway....

Disappointing attitude shown from Mr Eastwood and also such a short memory.

When he first took over the number 1 shirt at Fratton Park, he wasn't exactly the best of goalkeepers, he made many mistakes, he was indecisive. The Portsmouth fans took everything into consideration, he was young, he was at the beginning of his career and we gave him our patience. Since Alan Knight starting mentoring him he has come on leaps and bounds and his indifferent start to his time at Pompey has been forgotten.... by him.

Totally fed up with players kissing the badge and then running to another club for a few more pounds. Good luck and good riddance.

Nice one east Mids Baloo! Of course, no players ran to your club to kiss the badge for the sake of a few extra thousand pounds (that you couldn't ultimately afford) ....did they?

    :rolleyes::lol::blush::rolleyes:

  5. Skates away in '76. Everyone said beforehand that we were going in the Fratton End mob handed. I got decked out in red 'n' white but went with my dad instead of going with the rest of the crew. It wasn't until I got through the pay-on-the-day turnstiles that I realised everyone else had chickened out. I got so much abuse as I was escorted around the pitch by the OB.

The Tuesday after we had beat Palarse in the semi final.

Like you say, lots of promises broken. We were stood in the Milton end and it was nearly all bingo bus people. Just before K.O. a whole shoal of skates came in, the thin blue line did well to prevent a slaughter of the innocents.

After the game it was very edgy, the four of us were followed. We dived into the Magpie for a beer and then had to fight off a good few as we got into the car down the side street. Luckily the boot of the car had a few surprises in it, enough to make them think again!:blush::blush::blush:

R.I.P. Des Bullard & Maurice Annals, two of my accomplices that night.

  6. If he had scored that against any other team we would have been praising it.

    Good goal.

    Good player.

    No longer with us.

Respect to him for his time with us, let's move on.

  7. Apparently those Pompey fans that saved their club from extinction, are going to be faced with a large number of problems that could mean that the club either goes into administration again, or at least gets relegated to the Conference.

What a bunch of useless fans and a cr @p club they are and won't it be funny if they all lose all the money that they invested and have no club to support. Our fans are so much better than theirs and we will all be so amused at every mistake they make and every misfortune that befalls them, etc., etc.,

There, I'm done with this thread. Feel free to cut and paste the above. It summarises most of which will follow this post....

Be careful and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  8. I noticed this and assumed the person referred to wasn't the 'real' Cas Pennant who is supposed to be a Hammers fan

Perhaps the Pompey Trust are looking to revisit their 'history' a la 657 style

    Hey presto!

  9. I take the pee sometimes about his comments, but let's face it, when your job is to talk endlessly on a topic that is not always giving you something to talk about.....You will talk some nonsense.

What I really do like about DM is the connection to the past he gives. Sure, everything is moving, and moving fast, but DM takes me away from the flash foreigners and designer suits and reminds me of muddy football boots and the smell of wintergreen. It's a nice mix. Top bloke.

^^ I agree, DM can come across as a bit of an old dinosaur (anyone of my age and older does at some time) but he has a passion and a belief in both his religion and Saints. It would be very pedantic and rather pious to try and find something wrong with the guy.

    Blah, blah,blah.........

The latest business plan, which I am monitoring daily, shows us making a trading loss for the rest of this season and next season and achieving a small profit in 2014/15. These losses along with the purchase of the ground and assets, acquisition costs and the mega payments to creditors are covered by the investment of the fans and parachute payments up until the end of next season. Our cash reserve will be healthy next season, even after repaying the loan from Portsmouth City Council, and will be sufficient to pay the football creditors their £8M+ and repay the loan to Stuart Robinson. The loans to buy the ground will be repaid in approx 15 months and the final payments to the football creditors will be made in season 2016/17.

To achieve this we must keep to our budgets and have controls to ensure that this is the case. We have to work to increase revenue from fan investment, ticket sales, sponsorship, hospitality etc and minimise costs throughout the business.

We have a team of people working, right now, to achieve our aims and I am certain we can do it.

Thank you all for the massive support you have given to the cause.

    Together, WE DID IT! PUP"

Oh! A little less than the debt prior to CVA1 then .

  11. The academy makes no sense. No decent player will go to a category three academy over us.

The rare situation may well arise where Parents + Brown Envelope = " our Kyle as always been a pompey fan innit".
