  1. I disagree about Rodriguez .. I think he looks lost, shot of confidence and is about as strong as a new born baby when trying to hold the ball up. I also thought he was a lot better in the air than he is.

Out of his depth (at the moment anyway) and I feel a bit sorry for the lad.

    I couldn't disagree more
  2. Boruc probably should of saved the first and went total walkabout for the second, from what I've seen so far he is the worst of our three keepers.

Explain how on earth his actions for the second goal can be described as "total walkabout"? I think you need to study the video and have a rethink.

  3. OK, I saw it from the Northam, so I might have been mistaken, although I am quite high up and directly in line with the incident, so my viewpoint was quite good. But what I saw, was that Boruc should have come for the ball, but seemed to be in two minds about it. But until I see the evidence on Match of the Day, I will continue to hold the opinion that both Davis and Gazzaniga would have been quicker and more decisive than Boruc appeared to be. And if Boruc wasn't at fault, what was the disdain from the Chapel all about?

Boruc did nothing wrong at all for the second goal - came straight out as he should and made himself as big as possible in an attempt to block the shot. In fact, if the shot hadn't been scuffed, he would probably have saved it.

  4. How many goals has he scored though. £7m for a non scoring striker doesn't cut the mustard no matter how pretty he plays. He's paid to hit the back of the net. Lambert does and is a clever player, Lamberts goals could keep us up but Rodriguez's lack of them will relegate us. For vital penalties I want Lambert taking them not Rodriguez whose only penalty so far was poor/ lucky.

I agree with what you are saying, but you have to temper it a little. Rodriguez hasn't had the opportunity of playing as our main striker very often - and not in L1 and the NPC where he may have acquired the same status in the goal scoring stakes as Lambert. We will never know.....

  5. I agree, he's a bright guy, I'm sure he did it deliberately to shut up the reporters and stop them asking the predictable questions about his future. It might also be a canny dig at those responsible fro transfers, that whatever happens he knows he's done his best with what he has and under the constraints he's got to work under and not being backed in the transfer market.

Yep - I concur with all of that.

  6. I think it is a shame that some find this (staged) interview cringeworthy. Adkins has got to stick to his principles when things aren't going well, otherwise they are pointless. I have a lot of respect for him and the way he conducts himself - poems included.
