  1. The day we play QPR is Redknapp's birthday. I hope it is the worst birthday of his life.

It is also my birthday that day, and Pochettino's birthday, but that's irrelevant.

  2. From 2009. This makes me smile.

You lot make me laugh. "Back where they belong" "Back where we belong". Look chaps, we are where we belong because we won enough points to stay in the Prem. You're where you belong because you ****ed up your chance when you refused to buy good enough players and pay decent salaries and then weren't good enough to avoid two (count them) relegations.

You are where you belong. You've earned the right to be there. Just like we have.

  3. i think we are known as scummers by most football fans the length of this country.

as a football chant nothing wrong with it.

supporting the team away is getting more sanitised by the year,if you dont enjoy the away crack, which these lads were having, dont go,stay at home and be an armchair fan.

im 53,got pushed over during the celebration but was helped back up by these so called mongs.

dont judge people,by a celebratory video, which ive removed cos of some of the crap posted on here

as for the smoke bombs,it does no harm to no one,no one died,no one got hurt.its part of football culture all over europe and creates an atmosphere, which is enjoyable to watch and be part of.

    rant over

    Good post.

  4. what are they now...7 points from safety

it had emerged the other days that none of their new signings have relegation wage cuts factored in if they get relegated..

I think that they expected to win yesterday..............

would absolutely love it if they went down...but the media will airbrush arry's part in that like they do with our relegation

It will be a good day for football if they get relegated. Honestly they'll "do a Pompey" if they go down, and I will have no sympathy for them. When will people learn?

  5. The ref was a complete **** as mentioned above. Powderpuff wigan players tripping over their hair or just colapsing like a sack of sh!te whenever they were challenged were rewarded with a free kick every time.

I was genuinely astounded at some of the decisions yesterday. The linesmen need a mention too, incompetent to the extreme. How these people are allowed to officiate a game in the Premier League is beyond me.

  6. horrific result.......another lead blown from another set piece in the 90th min

absolutely horrfic result....that is why we are going down IMO

Had we flashed 10 million Celtic's way on Gary Hooper instead of wasting 12 million on Ramirez, we'd be winning games like today. Ramirez is the worst purchase Saints have made since David Burnside (RIP) back in Ted's day. Wondering whether Ali Dia wasn't as good.

Points tally worse than at same period in 2005.

We HAD to get 3 points and we ****ed up, we are now staring down the barrel with a poker up our arse !

Some over the overreactions on this thread are hilarious. Get a f*cking grip!

  7. Just got home. Disappointed not to hold on. It's a shame we can only seem to play well for 45 minutes at a time, we deserved the two goals after our second half but when you take the lead on 85 minutes, you really should be holding on to that. Thought Schneiderlin was class today. Boruc made a very good save. The referee was awful. Frustrating day, we should have won that.

  8. Old Trafford was the 50th league ground I've been to with Saints, and has to be up there with the quietest. SuperMikey got it spot on saying about how it's a commercial enterprise, it really was shocking. It's a sad situation when 70,000 home fans allow 1700 away fans to out sing them all game. United offered nothing in response.

We certainly got off to a flyer but it was always going to be hard to hold on for 89 minutes... Thought United did well to limit our attacking options, every time they broke forward they looked dangerous but Rooney's first was too easy for them. Also, I've never seen someone the size of Phil Jones go down so easily under a tackle. What ever happened to players showing their strength, he went fell over at the earliest moment possible!

Second half substitutions were spot on, we outplayed United at Old Trafford for 45 minutes and with a bit of luck we would have got a point. They still looked dangerous going forward but Boruc had a great game. He has definitely proved why he should be our number 1 in the past few games. That save was world class!

If we can take that second half level of performance into Wigan on Saturday then we'll have no problems. Everton and United were always going to be difficult, I think Wigan is Pochettino's first big test.

In the home stand above us, I saw two people I know from where I live near Winchester. One is a United "fan", in only his second visit to Old Trafford. The other is a Pompey fan... I know supporting Pompey at this time is difficult, but why would you go on a 400 mile round trip to watch your rivals play!?

  9. Pretty sure my stepdad managed to get some tickets, think we're seeing them in Birmingham. Unfortunately I wasn't old enough to have seen them in their prime, but saw them at Beaulieu in 2007 and they were great. That was my first ever gig actually.

  10. WTF is Lawro on this week?

Fair enough thinks we are going to get beaten 3-0, however thinks

    - QPR will get draw against Man City.

    - Wigan will beat Stoke away.

    - Noriwch will beat spurs

    - Reading get a point against Chelsea.

Good old Mark "Gaston Ramirez will never sign for Southampton" Lawrenson.

  11. If I was you I'd much rather Yoshida and Forren in the middle, can't say I rate Hooiveld at all. Seemed to get away with looking good last season because he scored quite a few goals. RVP and Rooney will tear him a new one.

Maybe its time to give De Ridder a start, its a relatively low pressure game and it can be hard to find rhythm coming off the bench every game. Plus he'd offer you pace on the counter, which seems the best way to beat united.

The way to beat united seems to be high pressure in the middle of the park, every team that get in at their midfielders seem to win quite easily. Newcastle completely overran their midfield last year in the 3-0. MP tactics could prove to be very useful in this game. IF you sit back you'll get picked off.

I really don't think De Ridder is Premier League quality.

  12. Watching the Oldham v Liverpool game yesterday reminded me of another pronunciation that makes me cringe which is the one of Sebastian Coates. Commentators love saying Ko-art-ez, when it's actually pronounced the way it's spelt because it's his Scottish dad's name.

Didn't know this, I always just assumed it was 'Ko-art-ez', based on what the commentators said. Idiots.

My Palace mate said today that when Tom Soares started playing for them, he heard a few commentators pronounce his name as 'soar-ez', when clearly it is just 'oars' with an S on the front... What's all that about?!

  13. Plus seeing as his name is now pronounced "Font" the quality of the song has been diminshed.

A Palace supporter here at work just said that he saw an American matey get out of Fonte's car once, and he said "Catch you later Fonte (FontAY)"... The mystery deepens...
