Standard of officiating is utterly abysmal in the women's game. Holding it back for sure.
This ref has officiated loads of men’s Ligue 1 as well as Champions League and World Cup games.

347-145 at Half Time. Got to be pleased with that score. Up The Gers 🇬🇧

Easy to see who skipped PSHE at school on this forum.

In negative sentences, "either" distributes over both items, so "don't lose either" means "lose neither" — i.e., both players stay. This follows from De Morgan's Laws and how negative polarity items work in the English language.
You’re either really annoying or trying to use intellect to compensate for internal insecurities.
To be clear, that was a negative sentence.

That was the point I was replying to, we signed Sharp, Fox, Lee, Hooliveld who all played a big part in our championship promotion but barely played again when we went up.
we signed Hooliveld back end of the summer window in the championship after we’d missed out on our top 3-4 targets I forget their names now but one of them we from Bristol City thought it was a done deal then collapsed at the last minute
Not a defender but think we were heavily linked with Nicky Maynard?
Ended up as one of about 10 strikers West Ham played that season.

There isn’t this endless promotion of athletics, for example, as being equal it isn’t. with competitors demanding equal pay.
The we do the same job argument is just nonsensical, Gordon Ramsey and a chef at the local pub both do the same job but you don’t see them demanding equal pay. same with football
I’ve quite enjoyed a few women’s games over time but it’s ruined by the hype around it. When the England women’s team won the euros the “send a woman to do a man’s job” bollocks etc.
You’re right let’s enjoy it for what it is, a pretty low standard minority sport that is simply incomparable to the men’s game. Which also means stop Hype about it and comparing it to the men’s game when it suits them. I enjoyed it when they won the euros. We were on holiday and went to a pub to watch it and cheered them on. However to then claim they’ve outdone the men’s team doesn’t do it any favours at all.
I pretty much agree with this but viewing figures, financial losses etc. will naturally start to level things out in the same way as if your pub chef started charging Gordon Ramsay prices.
Derision of the sport will only create animosity from those currently involved that slows that process as they ‘fight back’ or a reluctance of involvement from those who could improve it.

Yep so a 15 year old boys academy team is a similar standard to an international women’s team, which was exactly my point
Your point shouldn’t be controversial because you’re stating a fact.
It’s just a bit of a weird fact to consistently state.
Have you sat through previous Olympics watching Jess Ennis, Paula Radcliffe and Laura Trott, up in arms because they’d have been beaten by a 15 year old boy who has a biological advantage or have you appreciated them for being the best women in their (track and) field?Enjoy it for what it is or ignore it if you have no interest. I think everyone’s clear that the male body is genetically faster, stronger and more powerful than the female body.

Another in untried and untested addition. Let's hope this one comes good.
For context, this fella is kept out the usa side by someone who Derby are close to signing.
For context, this fella was selected in the USA squad ahead of someone who scored 31 goals in the Championship over the last two seasons.

He doesn't need a contract until 2028 to play for us in the Championship next season. They could leave it how it was. He isn't good enough after another promotion.
He does for the 2027/28 season though.

I’m pessimistic so I’d expect a loan.

No he was a home grown Saint who went to Spurs eventually . Scored 13 goals for England !
Both have the name Martin though so you’ll understand why I’d identify them as the same person.

Mainly Saints supporters who saw Martin Chivers score a last minute equaliser against Ipswich when most of the crowd at the Dell had made an early exit back in the day 60 years ago.
Is that the same bloke we sacked last season who now manages Rangers?

This suggests otherwise...
Doesn’t that also suggest we’re at a similar level of quality/team rating to Portsmouth judging by the colour attributed to both teams which would contradict your previous point around player quality being of a significantly higher standard?

We take Llalana COME back but let KWP go on a free instead of giving him a new contract. What folly,
We also signed Quarshie instead of van Dijk. Crazy decision by the club.

If thats the calibre of player that Sunderland are signing then they may as well raise the white flag. Already lost their best player as well
I’d forgotten they’d been promoted and was doubting if he’d be a decent signing for a promotion chasing Championship side.

I think we can all agree we shouldn’t be waiting for the outcome of any trial before ensuring there’s a minute silence before the start of all first games across the 25/26 football league season.

Two or three good ones will do so at least one signing is needed.

Any reason why Ghana are playing Nigeria at Brentford tonight?
In 2021, London was home to approximately 142,000 Nigerian nationals and 63,000 Ghanaian nationals. These figures represent the second and third largest non-British nationalities in London.
