  1. The point he's made in the past is that the 'Y' word shouldn't be used by anyone who isn't Jewish. The majority of Spurs fans aren't Jewish therefore this is not OK - I think it's a fair argument.

  2. My first thought is that he can f*ck off and play for Celtic where his actions would give him hero status.

However I suppose he can do what he wants, freedom of speech and all that. I'm just glad he's not one of our lads.

On a side note should this thread be renamed the 'Poppy Takeover Saga'?

  3. I was pleased Obama was re-elected and even more delighted that the Tea Party got smashed to tiny bits everywhere bar Texas. This should make the budget negotiations a bit more feasible and dare it say it not hijacked by the far right to same extent. It is always good to see extremism fail in any part of the world, time for the Republicans to wake up and smell the coffee and let the Tea Party split off as a seperate loonies party.

This. I'm normally right-leaning but I think the USA (and thereby most of the rest of the world) dodged a bullet on 6 November.

  4. They are the best we have for now.

Boruc will be fine, Clyne is decent and Maya has been useful - remember he is still settling into the Prem. New Cb and LB in Jan clearly.

Point is - Norwich or Reading couldn't field a front 6 like we can.

Jury's out on Boruc, and from what I've seen of Yoshida he is not Prem quality. Clyne I agree is excellent if inexperienced.

Still with Gaston we might win 4-3...

  5. Apparently called Mata a silly Spanish ***t and OM something else that hasn't been published.

He allegedly referred to John Obi Mikel as a monkey. Not an accusation that can be taken lightly.

  6. Amazing. Last week I was lashed on here for suggesting that AL leaves Fox far too exposed.

As far as Ramirez is concerned, I have a funny feeling we won't be seeing much of him this season. As soon as we spent all that money I thought, We'll be lucky to get a third of a season out of him. Don't ask me why, I've just got a feeling that he won't want to play for us whilst we're looking so awful and he'll end up being released for a fraction of the price we paid for him.

Same here. I thought he's be injured for three months and then go to Arsenal in January.

  7. Klinsmann as manager of the United States

On 29 July 2011, Klinsmann was named head coach of the United States men's national soccer team making him the 35th coach in the history of the program.[28]

On 29 February 2012, the U.S. national team recorded a historic 1–0 victory in a friendly match away against Italy. It was the first win against the four-time FIFA World Cup champion, stopping the 10-match winless streak against Italy dating back to 1934. The US also broke Italy's 20 game winning streak against all opponents at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa.[29] On 15 August 2012, Klinsmann coached the United States to a historic win against long time rivals Mexico 1–0 in the Estadio Azteca, giving the USA their first victory over Mexico in the stadium.

And who stuggled to beat Antigua & Barbuda. Mind you they did have the mighty Dexter Blackstock: http://www.goal.com/en-ca/match/72575/antigua-barbuda-vs-usa/report

    Basically, no thanks.

  8. So when your kid is 30 any crime he commits is morally your fault, lol.

In a way, yes. Basically they cannot have it both ways - either McKinnon is an adult & responsible for his own actions (in which case he should have been extradited like anyone else), or he is unable to control his own actions, in which case he needed keeping an eye on a bit more closely.

As I said, the correct decision seems to have been reached. But it is not a clear-cut victory for 'justice' really, is it?

  9. Being a pro-US right-winger but also a father of a boy wth Asperger's, I was torn on this one. Right decision in balance. He caused a lot of damage but at the end of the day nobody died. 70 years' prison is laughable.

I do however question the mother in all of this. Surely she knew what he was up to? Did she ever suggest to him that hacking was wrong? Is she somehow (morally, although certainly not legally) culpable in all of this?

We have made sure that my son understands that his obsessions cannot interfere with the law, or the rights of others. If Mrs McKinnon or whatever her name is had been a better parent when Gary was growing up, perhaps she wouldn't have needed to go on her little crusade in the first place.
