The thing about Spurs is... yes they are a bigger club than us, but not that much bigger. It's like dumping your girlfriend because she's fat and ending up with someone not quite as fat.

I would say that the distance between Spurs and Saints is smaller than, say, Spurs and Arsenal. It's as if he left us for Man United or Barcelona when at the end of the day he left for a club that outperformed Saints by a total of 4 points and two places. A club that isn't even guaranteed top 6, much less top 4.

It would appear from news reports this morning the Russia's President Putin must also be a Pompey native as he's suggesting that Sep Blatta be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Either that of their delusion is spreading :-)

Having said this, we've done the big clubs so many times I find myself disappointed when anything close to a fair price is negotiated. £12.5m in this situation is very good, but... my God I wanted to do them over again. £15m up front, 1 year on contract or no. Maybe I am dreaming but after all this is the £35m Andy Carroll club.

I think he's on a hiding to nothing, with the quality they have everyone expects them to beat the smaller teams comfortably and with style which I think they will do but for him to have the same outstanding success with them that he had with us he will need to be pushing very hard for top 4, that's what the fans and chairman expect and I just don't think the team has it in them. I expect him to join the long list of spurs failures shortly!

The 'long list of Spurs failures' isn't good enough to quench my bitter thirst for his failure. I want his name alongside Christian Gross as a massive mistake, a cringeworthy laughing stock.
