Any idea if he travelled over or withdrew before? Hopefully stayed here for recovery rather than faffing around in Heathrow departures queues
Maybe he had to withdraw due to being stuck in Heathrow departure queues.

Nobody got any predictions on what the team will be?
Me neither.

I was asking which inexperienced players he improved, as you well know!
He didn't say that, he said "I always had faith in Koemans ability to improve inexperienced players."

As long as they haven't given us Tommy Fourpast again in the small print of the contract. Someone needs to check it REALLY closely.

So which one of you funsters is actually taking over the club then? I keep getting disappointed to click on this thread and see new billionaire/yacht/tyre-kicker news. I mean even that blue crowd down the motorway managed to have an entire owner who didn't exist once. Can't we at least make something up?

The FA would not allow such a name change.
Given the MK Dons precedent they MIGHT allow it *if* we also relocated to a large river basin in South America

I get the impression this season might turn into 'Merrington Idol'. Surman leading in the early rounds.

Is Tommy Widdrington available?

Think at the time, as you said, Timmy was fucking brilliant and we were gutted to lose him, same for Bridge, but maybe losing a LB isn't the same as losing a striker or goalie. Ironically, most people felt losing Shearer wasn't a massive deal at the time considering the money we got for him.
For me, when Bridge went we also effectively lost, or seriously downgraded, both Marsden and Beattie. Marsden was never the same without Bridge doing the overlaps and a lot of Beattie's effectiveness came from Bridge's crosses. Ings bangs the goals in so has to be regarded as more important, but Bridge was about more than just Bridge at the time. Or my memory is poor. Very possible.

Peacock is one of the ones that isn't on Roku I think. Not sure this is great for the cord-cutters, but that's probably what they want.

Arsenal did to us what we did to Norwich. Both teams played at a similar level of intensity, but there was a clear gulf in class on display.
This sums it up better than anything I've read. When we played Norwich it was like playing a medium-level Championship side after the first 10 mins. Arsenal did the same to us today.
And it really does kind of feel like a pre-season friendly somehow. The pace/intensity just isn't there, from us or most of the teams I've seen so far.

Some great movement in the second half and individual performances. But seriously Norwich were poor at both ends.

My favourite moment was when someone on here called him Papa Mango. Always stuck in my mind.

Grr, that Bill Bailey...

Agree with Batman worth being a general sticky
I am not really following this thread but out of context this statement is gloriously baffling.

WGS and Savage were pundits for ITV coverage and Gabby Logan in the Chair. I remember WGS was clapped from dugout to the plastic perch studio in the Kingsland, much to the bemusement of Savage.
BBC if I recall correctly?

He has allowed Valery to thrive because Valery doesn’t have to think about leaving himself exposed when he ventures up the pitch.
This is a really good point. If you lose JWP is there a danger of also losing Valery, at least in terms of effectiveness if not actually leaving?

Nice piece on Bednarek as part of the build-up on NBC:

Having said that, the point stands: our forwards are awful and frankly you may as well play JWP and Valery up front right now, if it wasn't for the fact they're also doing well at their day jobs.

Armstrong has looked like the only player in the squad able to offer a goal-threat from midfield
Getting a little MLG here, sorry, but 2019 goal scorers in the league (most recent at top)

I'm thinking there's another midfielder there who might be offering a goal-threat.

Mark Wright was the Robinsons Barley Water Young Player of the Year. Wonder what the prize was?
-
Flipping it on its head a little, who would you MOST want of all our forwards in the period from Ormerod to now? From 30 yards out and keeper to beat... I'd actually go for JRod I think.
