  1. Because equality should be one of major aspriations for us as human beings, dont confuse fairness with equality, two different things.
  2. So you believe in a flat rate for all?
  3. Of course they should over a certain amount, social duty I believe its called. If tax was more transparent and people saw what it was spent on then I believe they would not be as reluctant to pay it.
  4. You asked a question and I answered it.
  5. Could you do our neighbours garden?
  6. I would happily pay 30% (we pay 25% now) possibly more if it was all transparent.

  9. Jeff will be right on to this, check shirt, new designer glasses, walking in to a room with a Vietnam stare going on........................................
  10. No I am not, where have I said that? Buy to let is a different kettle of fish as well, there should be limits, housing should not go up as much as it does, why does it? A lack of homes being built obviously drives up the prices, its unfair but I do not blame people as its human nature to take advantage but that should not stop the Government making limits on how many homes people own and let.
  11. Building on a flood plain and then paying £100's for houses when the Government has not invested in flood defences adequately along global warming is not the brightest idea is it?
  12. A nimby what are you on about? Why am I a nimby?
  13. Land prices in this Country is a given to make money.
  14. Of course they cant my house will make minimal profit when we hopefully sell this year as we bought in the peak and we are upsizing, it does not stop me wanting to question why this Country values in more than one way housing so much over other Countries, if we had secure social housing that all could access we would not be in this mess.
  15. There is no backtracking there at all, this is not unique to London either, Jeff is suggesting everybody move to the poorer areas in London which is a very simplistic notion and one from someone who has not thought it through, there are far too many people for these places to accommodate.
  16. Good for you, you did it to make a profit and not from the goodness of your heart, should you? Yes you should but there should be a limit, you are not doing this for social justice are you, bully for you renovating a house and making a profit from it.
  17. Write it out then as I presumed from that you meant housing costs, what about bills? Internet, phone and food, I suggest you need to think.
  18. Of course I know there will be some as there has to be a provision, how long are the waiting lists? There simply is not the housing to live in the rich or poor areas. There are not enough houses social or otherwise hence rents are soaring.
  19. Mr Mah you asked me whether house builders should make a profit and I said yes they should, should houses be sold forprofit after that? No but what can you do? I belive I have answered all of those, read my posts again.

  21. No Sue Barker.
  22. There is a massive difference between a house builder and a house speculator, Jesus wept.
  23. Take that away from any flat/bedsit you choose, food, bills, clothing do you think its liveable?
