  1. The same praise being heaped on Boscombe could equally be applied to the Redknapp era at Portsmouth. They’re following the exact same business model. I thought the consensus on here was that wasn’t the way we wanted our club ran, but it appears some on this thread would prefer that.

Pony! Times have changed, keep up.

Clubs get £120m + just for being in the Premier league now.

There net spend last 6 years is less than Fulhams from this summer alone!!

Comparing Pompey in 2006 to AFCB in 2018

Just admit u were wrong about Howe and move on

  2. A nicely set-up "told you so" there Batman if I may say so sir.

Be sure to resurrect this post in 12 months time if you turn out to be right, but keep shtum if things turn out differently of course... ;)

Forum just isn't the same without your passionate opinions, knowledge, views and humor.

  3. I think this thread will be bumped alot this season.

Have a funny feeling that the occasional laugh at our ex players might be the little/only real enjoyment we can squeeze from the 18/19 season.

  4. If we're facing in the right direction, all we have to do is keep on walking.

Watching Liverpool lose in champions league: £1,200

Seeing Spurs lose (again) in champions league: £80

Seeing CB Fry fuming about a momentum curve. Priceless

  5. The malaise began when NC left, quickly followed by Poch. for a while their momentum kept running but there has been no leadership to replace NC off the pitch and Poch on the pitch. Now the whole enterprise has run down. I'm sorry NC was mocked and ridiculed by fans, he was the engine that drove things and that is what we lack now.

Tbf don't think many mocked NC.

Look at his exit thread it was largely wide spread support (and panic) and then the normal handful (Turkish, CB Fry types) that had NC issues and couldn't see his value as he wasn't from a football background or ex player lol.

A few were seduced by the initial and predicted continued momentum, but writing was always on wall and I predicted our decline while everyone was getting giddy with Leslie's top 4 and champions league talk nonsense

  6. It’s interesting to notice a few months ago when we made some early signings this was hailed as evidence Les had been moved to one side, Hughes wasn’t letting him balls up transfers and someone else was in charge. Now those signings haven’t been brilliant straight away it’s all reeds fault

There was a bit of speculation after ITKs had suggested that Les was looking for other employment and then didn't show his mug for a few months.

Sadly that all proved a dream and the baldy, useless clown reappeared and continued to **** up the club you claim to support.

  7. I don't think the owner is the big issue here.

It's not like he's selling players and pocketing the £'s

The investment has been there, it's just how it's been spent/wasted.

A squad that's cost c£300m and millions spent on managers and management changes / pay offs. We have wasted a criminal amount of money and show no signs of improving.

The other worry is that our youth / academy options have now also nearly dried up so while we waste big money on **** players we no longer have the academy to bail us out. Mess

It's the management of the club (Les, Wilson, Ralph) not the owner that needs to change IMHO

  8. ****ing hell I actually agree with you Alpine the takeover killed us. We stood still while it took forever to get it over the line and now we have an owner who just wants to maintain the status quo and has no ambition.

We've spent £300m on the squad and have very very little to show for it, plus we keep hiring poor managers and selling any player that steps up.

That's the issue, not the takeover.
