You can achieve the same thing by taking off Armstrong OR Moi. Has to be an injury, or it's a contender for one of the worst subs in recent memory.

OMG 🤣🥲

Still think he should be doing much better for Spurs' second...decision-making wise. Because the chances of saving a header, from an inswinging cross, 4/5 yards out, are gonna be pretty remote, so the predominant strategy should be one of claiming/clearing the ball. Whereas, if you watch the highlights, that thought never seems to enter his mind. Maybe that's an confidence/experience thing though.

I've got Spanish commentary...how did we manage 6 subs?
This (and I'm on English commentary)

Thoroughly impressed so far.

Jones is criminally shite. But anyone above him who still supports his position needs culling along with him (...if not already for hiring him).

The most Che Adams finish ever (albeit would've been enough on this occasion 😄

4 wins and 15 loses in 24 games.
one of the wins was Cambridge in the cup. Simply dreadful. Enough is enough
Lose this today, and since Jan (Prem games only)
27 games, 7 wins, 5 draws, 15 losses, 26 points, 0.963 points per game, 36.6 points per season.
Last 19 games (inc today)....3 wins, 3 draws, 13 defeats, 12 points, 0.6316 per game, 24 points per season 😬

Gary Birtles is definitely the sorta bloke whose idea of fun is spending an afternoon writing critical Yelp for restaurants he's not even visited.

I don't think it's fair to single him out as our main problem, he's been poor this season for sure, but when the midfielders (attacking midfielders) in front of him are Elyounoussi, Adam Armstrong or Moussa then the most sensible thing to do is pass it back or sideways and at least keep possession.
His safety first passing is more because of the crap in front of him as opposed to what he truly wants to do, he decides to keep the ball rather than watch Elyounoussi get pushed off of it or Moussa tripping over his left foot.
We need Edioze and Aribo to be those extra bits of quality in the final third willing to attack and commit, that will at least provide an option to pass to in front of him.
Yeah, mostly agree, he's been poor (although I personally don't feel incisive passing has ever been part of his game, regardless of who's ahead of him), but he's the only one of the front 6 who played at Wolves that'd make a team pushing for a top 10 finish in that set-up.
-----------JWP --- Diallo---------------
---Moussa-----Ely-----A.Armstrong---
---------------Adams------------------
5 of those 6, in that formation, are not a top 10 or progressive/entertaining side. And there's the rub. And lord knows why any manager would persist with it. Yeah, we're not blessed enough to swap all 5 out, but...
--------------JWP --- Diallo-------------
--S.Armstrong---Aribo----A.Armstrong--
-----------------Adams------------------
...is just as solid, with more creativity/flair. And...
--------------JWP --- AMNiles-------------
--Aribo------S.Armstrong-----A.Armstrong--
-----------------Adams--------------------
...is even more solid, if Ralph wasn't such a stubborn fuck.

0/10, Ralph
Don't suppose he'll get asked a challenging question about it by Radio Solent though 🙄
-
I really wish journalists would ask Ralph about his in-game tactical decision making/thinking. Why doesn't Edoize get on the pitch to 80ish mins? Why do you feel your side were unable to create a shot on target? Do you finish every training session with a rimjob from Elyounoussi, or just every other session?

Fuuuuuuuuuuuucking hell. Open goal.

Double change. AMN for Diallo. Armstrong for Ely. Both atrocious today.

Diallo not going with his runner

"drops to him fortuitously" (co-comm) after Aribo (or whoever it was!) makes a blinding touch to set Adams up.

Quick, change to a back 5!!!

4-3-3 for me.
Split Tella and Long off of Adams (if we're not making subs). Doesn't seem to be a widely shared opinion, but Tella is at least providing some directness. If Brighton sit deep, we can keep swinging it in for 3 players to attack. If we're countering, there's two fast(ish) players to try to get behind their CBs.

There was that article that pointed out that the idea isn't to actually win the header from the throw in, or heaven forbid, score from them. It's to increase the chances of winning the second ball from them. It helps us prevent break aways from our own throw ins, apparently.
Be interested to read it. That being said, the theory doesn't appear to match reality though. Plus the same could be achieved by any player lofting it up the pitch. (realise you're not defending it btw)
Ugh, Tino.

This long throw thing is a crock of shit. Really need to stop it.
Don't really understand why there isn't someone at the club who's able to highlight how entirely f*cking pointless they are. And why Salisu doesn't tell Ralph every time he's asked to take a long throw, that he can't actually take them :S

Armstrong atrocious so far.

Ah, tbf, changing the shape/subbing Alcaraz has allowed Selles to free up perennial-threat Adam Armstrong to play upfront.
