Bournemouth also in freefall, 1 win in last 6, every little helps.
Doesn't matter unless we can start winning
-
I really expected more, but that was poor.

Get Cahill and Shawcross in to get us through to the summer
Clyne back on loan would be a step up
Shawcross!!?? What are you smoking? Worse than what we've got.

Long has an ankle injury that has been operated on

Key sentence from the Telegraph article - "That will not mean appointing a manager like Sam Allardyce or David Moyes, but potentially someone with no experience of Premier League football who fits their model."
-
His legs had gone though. He was abysmal for West Ham and had to run off to China.
Still plays for Portugal though - funny that!

Stream for today?

I'd keep Gabbiadini on the right. His performance against Watford was his best since the League Cup final.
If Ings isn't fit then Long or Gallagher upfront. We can't afford to play with 10 men away from home so it's the bench for Austin.
I'd play Armstrong behind the forward and Redmond on the left, again, like the Watford match.
Is Gallagher fit?

Need to play Westergaard against Mitrovic

No reason why they couldn't put a message up on the TV screens at either end of the ground to show a review is taking place.
-
Another missed opportunity as Ranieri was a free agent. Now Fulham just need to score four against us to leap over us and maybe see us drop to bottom/
Really? You would have been happy if we had dumped Hughes and brought in Ranieri ? B#llo#cks you would! You'd have been moaning for months.

Hopefully the reaction to the ref's mistakes in this match this will be the catalyst for the introduction of VAR in the Premier League. The irony is that Saints will not be there to benefit (or otherwise) from it.
If there had been VAR we would have been awarded the disallowed goal, but Watford would have had a penalty and Bertie a second yellow.

It’s a bit sad when a point away to Bournemouth is considered a good result. I’m not saying it isn’t by the way. Just shows how far we have fallen.
Hughes seems to set his teams up to stop others playing and not set teams up to win games.
I think we have to acknowledge that B'mouth have become a really decent side, their results this season compel that.
-
Decent result - particularly considering the dire predictions in the build-up thread. Let's remember the B'mouth are still 6th and smashed Watford 4-0 away last match.

Anyone know what the injury is?

Mourinho will be available soon

Getting error 400 on this.
Any others around?

Wolves should be odds on for the win, they have all the energy and belief of a freshly promoted team whereas we look a bit Villa'esque of a few seasons back.
1-0 to us it is then.
Wolves are 8/11 to win. I look forward to losing the £30 I just put on at that price.

oopps! My bad. The match on Sunday the 7th of Oct.
-
I no longer live in Southampton so I'm seeking the wisdom of the community.
I have a couple of mates coming down for the Chelsea game on Sunday Oct 2nd and we're looking for somewhere to go before the match.
3 requirements - must do a decent Sunday roast, be within reasonable walking distance of SMS, happy to let us leave the car in their car park while we go to the game.
Any suggestions?

Just scored for n ireland

Brighton was far and away the best beer I’ve had at football the last few years. They encouraged people to stay behind to ease congestion, and we had our post match few pints in there, (it was the Sunday game, not Cup one). It was almost on a par with the pub. The problem with real ale is you’ll have to sell enough, know how to look after it, and the person serving it needs to know what they’re doing. They had it spot on, I doubt whether our shambolic lot will. If I remember correctly we did have Saints ale at one time, but it was ****ing woeful.

Exactly so. If you have half a barrel left over at the end of the game then it is not going to be drinkable by the time the next home game comes around. Maybe having the beer in bottles would address this.

ridiculous decision to rule out Welbecks goal
For al lthat they lost I thought England did reasonably well, created chances at least. If Rashford was really an international class striker we would not have lost.
Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often
