1. Ah yes. The 'England Band'.....

As welcome to my ears as a vuvuzela.

I'm glad I'm not alone in wanting them gone. They used to be great and really added to the atmosphere, now they are just an orchestra version of TWTCB

The Brazilians have samba and batucada, but we have an embarrassing jingoistic dirge. To think of the incredible music that has come out of this country and that's the sh*t we serve up. Ban 'em.

On a more controversial note I'd like to change the national anthem too.

This report seems to indicate that Everton will "meet" with Koeman this week.

Seems unlikely to be true to me seeing as he is under contract with another club.

Thought RK was on holiday, no doubt at his Villa in Portugal. So Everton fly out to meet him? Sure Mrs Koeman will be happy with that. Sounds like crap to me.

  3. Will Utd have that big a clear out though? Arguably, they have good players, but they have been carelessly managed for the last 12-18months. I think Jose can get a lot more out of Depay, Morgan, Bastian, Herrera.

The players who I think may be available are Phil-Pulls Faces Jones, and Adnan - but neither of those are really needed here and Adnan reminds me of Macheda. Not actually that good, just arrived on a crest of a wave.

Presume Mata because Jose didn't want him at Chelsea. I think Jose will be good for Morgan.

  4. First 11 I would start with.

I think that looks okay too, (well Smalling scares the s**t out of me but options are limited) but if we assume a Hodgson frame of mind, we have to get Rooney in there and probably Milner too, so Drinkwater will be out, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if Roy doesn't take him, and then he perhaps drops Vardy to the bench in favour of Wayne. He'll possibly want to keep the Spurs connection as well so Rose instead of Bertrand.

Personally I think Drinkwater should go. Him and Dier together, two DM's to shield our ropey defence. Plus what more does Hodgson want from an English player - played regularly, won the Prem, and is in the CL?

  5.

Reading that article and then this one http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/04/25/juan-mata-footballers-earn-an-obscene-amount-and-live-in-bubble/ he comes across as a very intelligent, cultured man who would be superb for us. He says he'd "happily take a pay cut if there was less business involvement in the sport."

Maybe we can help him feel better about things by offering him a less obscene wage? ;)

  6. If people are worried about Koeman leaving, perhaps time to bump this thread...

Anyway I was thinking, dangerous I know, but rumour has it Giggs may end his association with United under their new regime. If that is the case, would he be worth a punt as manager? Too risky?

Too risky? Would be utter madness.

  7. If that could involve Keeeley Hawes astride me in the bath, smearing pizza all over my naked quivering chest that would be just fine.

I'll just be.... Um..... Yes well I'll just be over here, thinking........

Smeared pizza doesn't do it for me, a bit messy. Lots and lots of soap suds however, smeared all over Keeley Hawes' "quivering chest", now we're talking!!!!

I'll just be....er........over here thinking :proud:

  8. Juanmi - no loss. Bye.

Pelle expected and can go with club's blessing.

Vic - no surprise at all. Would be great to convince him to stay but he's off.

Tadic. He might want out but no sale..... unless club think they can get a better replacement and a nice pile off cash.

Mane. No sale. If anyone has to be kept it's him.

  9. My Celtic supporting mate is getting a little ****ed off with us - about a month or so I mentioned near Bitterne when he was around and he told me to fook off. Problem was I was speaking about Harefield - made me laugh!

Hahaha, can't say I blame him, poor bloke, paranoia has crept in.

Apparently Bitton is too good for a mid-table prem side, which I think was meant to mean us.

  10. Ah the sycophantic press seems not to include Jason Cundy on talkSport. Currently saying that he was delighted that LFC lost and ran around the office when Sevilla scored their second goal. Quite rightly, as it is the way I think, you don't want a team in our league to get stronger as it is competition for you. Lots of Liverpool supporters (was going to say Scousers but they seem to come from anywhere but Liverpool) a little upset by that.

He has an interesting bit on his wiki page: Despite never being successful as a footballer and having a distinct lack of talent Cundy is often critical of current players. He has a particular disdain for Liverpool FC, which many observers put down to pure jealousy. His fame grew significantly following his retirement due to his failed relationship with his model ex-wife Lizzie.

I was listening to that. Good on Cundy for a change, how refreshingly honest and completely in-line with my thoughts on rival teams.

The bloke who called up about it was classic delusional Liverpool fan. What was he on? Thought that Liverpool deserved to win because they were better in the first half, Sevilla weren't that good and anyone including Villa would have beaten Liverpool that second half. He thought that Cundy should support English teams in European cup competitons but then went on to admit that he wouldn't be supporting England in the Euros, he'd be supporting Germany instead because of the way they do things, BUT he would support Man U and Chelsea when in European competitions because they're English teams. He bamboozled me with his twisted logic.

  11. Bored rigid of having Klopp-cam the whole time. I don't care what he does on the sidelines. It's not his fault that he gets so involved, but the sycophantic press is hard to take.

Yes. Spot on. I have my reasons for disliking certain clubs as we all do, but it is the media that magnify that dislike into something much larger than it should be. It was the same with the West Ham game last week. The coverage and bias that night has helped elevate West Ham to the top of the pile, when it comes to me wanting a team to fail next season. Also the way the supporters of these clubs are blown-up to somehow be more important and more passionate than the rest of us really p*sses me off. Over-romanticised, over-enthusiastic, starry-eyed, sycophantic drivel.

I shouldn't be in a position where I actively avoid radio, tv and headlines if one of these "historic" clubs wins, it's ridiculous. I shouldn't need the sick bag because a commentator is verbally w****** himself off. How about a bit of balance, restraint, and the realisation by presenters, pundits and commentators that we don't all wish these clubs well, and that by using restraint they may ease the animosity somewhat.

  12. After Scousehampton are played off the park 2nd half by Seville who could have had six

Does Woy still think that the core of this failing side including such wonderful performers as Milner and Henderson are really our best bets for European success? What will it take to end his Scousehampton love in

It's exactly what I thought watching that second half. It seemed strangely familiar and reminiscent of a standard England cup performance. They had no answer for Sevilla. Milner, Lallana, Clyne and Sturridge all disappeared when they needed to step up.
