RedAndWhite91 Posted 18 September, 2010 Share Posted 18 September, 2010 Hopefully the weather will be alright for you. We also had VIP passes which made the day even better! Keep an eye out for a small blue and white light aircraft, next to the massive Antonov biplane, my Dad has had it 12 years and has finally restored it, it's now on display and his name is on the plaque
Saint137 Posted 19 September, 2010 Share Posted 19 September, 2010 Brilliant stuff today. Its a motoring Glastonbury - in that the racing is almost secondary to the rest of the experience. Three very close and hard fought races, the RAC TT was riveting for a 1 hour race, Antony Reid drove a blinder and almost forced his way through to 2nd on the last lap with a spot of touring car tactics - and this in cars worth a serious amount a cash. Saw 250GTO take to the grass flat out on the Lavant Straight - that's £10m quids worth of motor being driven flat out! Star of the day was Richard Attwood, won the Glover F1 race, not bad for a 70yo. Only disappointment was that the BRM V16s didn't run - if you've never heard one of those things run look it up on YouTube.
surrey1saint Posted 20 September, 2010 Author Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Was an excellent day out.The TT race was indeed a classic. Attwood was class in the Glover race I agree. Roll on next year.
