wessex saint Posted 4 December, 2015 Share Posted 4 December, 2015 Making this a jolly boys pre xmas all dayer. From what I remember there aren't many decent boozers near selhurst. So where's everyone going? Clapham junction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mattio Posted 5 December, 2015 Share Posted 5 December, 2015 I live down the road, for away fans there's 2 spoons a pretty standard boozer and that's about it, so CJ could be a better bet.
Graffito Posted 6 December, 2015 Share Posted 6 December, 2015 Two Brewers in Gloucester Rd is the best one I've been to. They won't let you in with colours though.
Sydenhampton Posted 9 December, 2015 Share Posted 9 December, 2015 My local is a great choice for pre-Palace drinking. It's called the Bridge House Tavern & is adjacent to Penge West station, no more than 20 mins door to door. Penge West to Norwood Junction is 2 stops and 4-5 mins, after which it's a short walk to the ground. A few seasons back a decent sized group of us went there. We left the pub at gone 2:30 and were there in time for kick off. It has two spacious indoor bar areas, a 2-tiered large garden which includes a covered bit with heaters for the smoky bears. It's also well worth considering if you're thinking about lining the belly as their food gets them rave reviews. Only curve-ball though is that they have a strict no colours rule, so if you show up with so much of a scarf, your stay won't be so long! Getting there? Personally I'd head to Clapham Junction, get a train to Crystal Palace (every 15 mins) and from there take a 10 min short cut through the very pleasant Crystal Palace Park (google it). Penge West itself is on the London Bridge - Croydon line. http://www.bridgehousese20.co.uk/
