eelpie Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 ... as I see it, in this order:- 1. Avoid relegation before points deduction. Don't laugh, we are not mathematically down yet and we want the 10 points deducted at the END of this season, not at the beginning of next, don't we? We CAN win the next two matches. So get behind the team on Saturday. 2. Survive (financially) till the last match against Notts Forest. This will mean that the FL will not remove us from any Football League competition next season. That means packing St Mary's on Saturday! (And the club need to tell us how much is needed.) 3. Attract a buyer - because we are worth it! So no silly pitch invasions on Saturday - and hope... 4. Other summer options (to be clarified) Meanwhile six points is what we need! We can beat Burnley. We can beat Forest!
SaintRobbie Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 We are docked 10 points now so I think there may need to be a change of options. For me it is and always has been: Priority 1: SELL THE CLUB.
egreog Posted 23 April, 2009 Share Posted 23 April, 2009 The sorry bunch of losers masquerading as footballers for Saints will not avoid relegation, they have no desire,.......they will go and ply their pitiful wares for some other fool next season......the summer hols are upon them in 2 wks.........why shoulf they bust a gut now when they certainly have failed to do so all season......... get your money on Burnley and make a few quid despite it being odds on! For me it is and always has been: Priority 1: SELL THE CLUB. I bet tomorrow morning's papers will be undecided as to when the points are to be deducted. Some may give us 34 points from now. Some may wait until after the last match. Typical of the vagaries of FL rules. Nobody seems to know them. They rely on backtracking to 'grey areas'. I would rather the club was sold as a CCC club, even now, optimistic fool that I am, even with the probable relegation but with no points deducted next season.. We CAN beat over-confidant Burnley and c**ky Notts Forest. It will do wonders for our morale, and improve our worth to the prospective buyers. (I doubt that due diligence can be concluded before the end of season anyway. But yes selling the club is the No 1 long term priority))
