I apologise for igniting such vehement apathy. I shall look forward to the game's release in my own little world as well as anticipating exercising my total lack of ability in the multi-player format, and yes I shall probably subscribe to gain access to additional content if that's what is required. I have neither the time or money to lavish myself with a wide range of games, so I do tend to stick to those that I know and enjoy, and will continue to do so until I have more time and money (sometime around my 65th birthday I imagine).

    PSN outage

Wipeout single player is pretty good, haven't tried it online yet. What are Infamous and Dead Nation like?
  4. It has to be said, you are very lucky then. I would very much like to be in your position, but got into a cycle of debt at a relatively young age, and never really got out of it. I therefore (like many others I imagine) need to worry about credit files. Though like you I currently couldn't give a **** either, but for the complete opposite reason...
  5. It could be that as you are currently have a high percentage of your total available credit outstanding, that the calculation of the credit score classifies you as someone not managing their debt too well... One remedy might be to get a new credit card, transfer the balances (preferably at zero or low rates), and repay the balance faster than you are now. Chop up the other cards, but don't close the accounts, so you have higher credit facilities available, but a lower relative borrowing ratio. Up until recently, I had masses of available credit (£30k or so) and balances of about £5 - £10k outstanding and my credit score, according to CreditExpert was apparently superb, and in the top 10%. Though if you are looking at car finance, I wouldn't worry too much as that is very similar to a secured loan, and credit references would just look at your repayment history rather than credit worthiness.

    PSN outage

I think I recently went prestige for the 6th time, so will be royally p*ssed off if I lose that, not to mention the platinum trophy I got on FF13... Fingers crossed they haven't lost everything, and it was just copied off the servers... Sorry I wasn't really thinking in my first post, I was just filled with dread over the whole "my x-box is better than your ps3 because.." bunfight kicking off. Due to past experiences I am quite hot on keeping tabs on my "identity" so may have appeared somewhat blase. However if Sony are found to have been as negligent as suggested in those articles then they deserve the sh*tfest coming there way over the next few months. I suppose there may be a silver lining (scant consolation right now, of course) in that they could take this opportunity to just overhaul PSN, provide a better service, even a subscription service akin to x-box live. As for hackers, they're always going to attack companies that want to keep their IP closely guarded, and I'm sure those PSJailbreak chaps who are being taken to court by Sony "have absolutely no idea who is behind this your honour"...

    PSN outage

Agreed, I bought a 90 day, non-recurring subscription, though I probably wouldn't hope for more than an extension to that and probably wouldn't notice if I didn't. As ever this sort of thing turns into x-box vs PS3 p*ssing contest. Personally I'm always going to fall on the side of the PS3, and if this event means a subscription service comes in, then so be it. AS LONG as the network is better/more stable, then happy days (maybe less irritating 10 year olds on CoD too...). As for the shut down itself, the conspiracies are too geeky and complex for me to understand and care about. I'll stick with Sony's explanation as they're either protecting us (the users) or themselves (as they are perfectly entitled to do) or both as a responsible multi-national holding personal data should. As for the hackers... Why??? what does it serve?

    Advice Required

I think common law aims to recognise a partner, or other occupier of a property where a contribution has been made. However the nature and formality of the contribution would need to be assessed. If he paid a fixed amount monthly by standing order or direct debit then a contractual arrangement may well be implied between the two of them. Likewise the loan. I would imagine he would have some entitlement, but how much would be open to interpretation and negotiation. Dog, how did he arrive at the £12k figure? is it just a number plucked out of the air?
  10. I guess my brief highlights so far are getting Saints promoted to the Prem within two consecutive seasons, and then spending ca £80m with Arsenal with the aim of doing the treble (leading the prem and in the semis of the CL & FA cup) £60m of that spent on Edinson Cavani from Parma in January who so far has scored 24 goals in 19 games! Oh yes, and taking every opportunity to slag off Radomir Antic who took over from me at Saints and has led them straight back to the NPC. I was thinking about going for some national jobs, but I'm running quite a small database, will that restrict things? Also I seem to remember on earlier versions national jobs weren't that involved, what's it like on this version?
  11. After the end of my third season and guiding Saints to a 9th place finish in the Prem, reigning champions Arsenal offered me a contract of £81k p.w. and a huge transfer budget, so now I'm the new Arsene Wenger and in my third friendly I am currently tearing Hibernian a new one.
  12. ok, in my defence, I'm not well... however I thought I'd check the wireless card was seated properly (again) which it was... however this time I noticed that the screw-in aerial was cross threaded so not connected to the card... oddly enough now that it is screwed in properly it's all working fine! So if someone wants to delete this, please feel free!
  13. My desktop pc has recently struggled to connect to my router and the internet and when it does the speeds are really slow - speedtest.net reporting as slow as 0.54mbps. However when I connect a laptop (either home or work) they both connect without a problem, and report speeds (at the same time of day) ten times faster than the desktop. I've run AVG free and spybot S&D on the desktop and nothing was detected beyond a couple of adware things, and the only thing installed recently on the computer was Steam to play FM2011. Can anyone suggest things I can try to diagnose where the problem may be? Cheers.
  14. I finally bit the bullet and downloaded this through steam to keep myself occupied whilst off work sick. I'm now into my second season and have to admit I'm totally hooked again. First season I didn't make too many changes to the squad, I think I only really bought in Febian Brandy (be mad not too ) a right back called Javan Vidal from Man City, Jordan Spence on loan from West Ham, although he seems to be primarily a right back, I played him in central defence with Jose Fonte and I think I only conceded about 15-20 goals in the league. I also bought in a few backup players e.g. Lee Hendrie, Stephen Hughes and a young striker called Jamil Adam. Won the league with about 10 games to play. So far in the second season, I bought Jordan Spence in permanently, signed a left back (Chris Mattock) on loan from West Brom. Sergio (a 34 y.o. spanish central midfielder with fantastic attributes in most categories) on a free. A left winger by the name of kayledene Brown, who was in one of the England trialists matches, on a free. A highly rated young goalkeeper on loan (can't remember the name right now) with a loan clause that I can buy for £750k... value now £1m Also managed to hold onto all the big names in the squad (Schneiderlin, Chamberlain, Fonte, Lallana. I would say Lambert but he's struggled for me in th NPC) despite some quite intense interest from other clubs. One of the best things I did was offer Schneiderlin a new contract and make him captain... seemed to go down well with the rest of the squad and the fans! The club also signed an agreement with Sunderland at the end of the first season. They can send players on loan to me, with no obligation to play (or pay). The first of these was a DCM called Meyler (or Melyer) who's turned out to be very useful! At the start of the second season, the board wanted me to make it a consolidation season with a budget to match. I upgraded that to top half finish to increase the budget and now sit third, with £2m to spend in the January window if needed. My team currently is: GK Loanee whose name I forget/Davis RB Vidal DCR Fonte DCL Spence LB Mattock RM Chamberlain/Puncheon CMR Schneiderlin©/Sergio CML Meyler/Sergio/Lallana LM Lallana/Brown/Puncheon STCR Guly/Lambert STCL Brandy/Adam/Brown I generally stick to variations of 4-4-2 with tweaks to the style of player (i.e. more attacking or defensive depending on the opposition). Though have played 4-5-1, 5-3-2, 4-3-3 and even 4-2-4 for a fan day at the end of the first season
  15. I got one of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-All-URC8305-Kameleon-Control/dp/B000KGG5DU) for christmas a few years ago worked well for most basic functions, though I couldn't (at the time) get it to work with sky+ or my stereo which admittedly is quite old. It apparently has a learning feature that allows it to learn from other working remotes, but I couldn't seem to get that working properly either, though that was possibly through lack of patience on my part. The other problem with it is that although it looks great from the front, the back has a big ridge in it where the batteries go, and it doesn't sit very well on the arm of the chair... I'd always thought of them as a good idea, but after the hassle of that and the fact that the Sky+ remote control works for the main functions on the TV as well means I've just stuck with that
