Rubbish. Looked decent against Cardiff earlier in the season and could have been an asset next season, certainly causes more problems than a lot of our other wing options, who can't take a man on.

So, that's now Morgan, Doyle, Meghoma, Alleyne, Gomes-Rodriguez, Miles and now SAA who were all rated in the academy and left without making an impact on the first team under SR with the Bath Academy also being shut down. We were lucky Dibling came back. It's a shame.

Yep. If we lose nearly all our games and sell nearly all our promising young players, it does raise quite a profound philosophical question: What’s the fucking point?

Just break the kids' spirit as well, you mean.

Just hang this load of shite out to dry like the shite they are.

Why would it break their spirit? No one would expect them to win, which wouldn’t matter because we’re losing every week anyway.

    What kids you talking about?

Sam Amo, O’Brien Whitmarsh, even Ballard. Play Sulemana, Fernandes, Dibling when fit, Archer, buy a couple in readiness for next season, recall Edwards if we could, and get rid of the old guard who are mentally broken. Start again.

So you would have stuck with him?

    Seriously?

Actually, yes. If we’re going down anyway (as all the experts on here tell me is a 100% guarantee), I’d have rather given a new guy a fresh start, untainted by failure, in the summer.

The real culprits are Sports Republic. Four years of abysmal recruitment, no centre forward worth the name, big outgoing transfer fees wasted on players who can’t get a game. Martin was just doing what Jason Wilcox (remember him?) asked him to do. I was at SMS and it wasn’t Martin’s fault that they scored right in front of me after 37 seconds with no challenge of any kind.

Remember the brief surge of hope when Selles came in last time we got relegated? Lasted about two games, and by the end he was broken and in no fit state to plan a promotion campaign.

Apologies for not following the herd. And I hope I’m wrong.

I’ve paid a lot of money for this season so I’d like the occasional bit of fun please.

Yeah me too. We should probably both have left at half time against Leicester and gone home happy. Big day next Saturday, no doubt - and St Marys needs to make a big effort to feel a bit less anxious.

Anyone from the club who’s reading btw, enough of the big banner thing covering the whole of the Northam. I’ve paid my money and I’d like to see the team come out onto the pitch - don’t give a feck what the banner looks like on the telly.

Just got back ... my thoughts.

    • Fans were great today - the numbers & despite not much to cheer, i thought we were in great voice
    • There are most tourists at City now then Utd!
    • Lallana needs to start - even if we get only 60 mins a game from him
    • Much maligned, I though Jack Stephens did not put a foot wrong today - in fact the whole back 5 put in a shift
    • Can't believe how big the whole Etihad complex is .. how anyone can complete with the money they are spunking over the place!
    • The British road network is fucked & not fit for purpose - miles of diversions for roadworks / the diversions full of roadworks🤬

    Agree with every word.
I also think Russ will still be with us in January, and he should be. And I’m not that arsed if we get relegated again - last season was fun. But hey let’s all soil our pants on the internet.

The way we’re lining up is horrific. With BBD and Arma so wide, the wingbacks are basically blocked from progressing forward and just become full-backs. And we have nothing attacking centrally which is where most goals are created and (obviously) scored, and the centre midfield gets dominated.

I can’t work out what we’re trying to achieve with this team structure. If we want 5 at the back, play 3 midfielders plus two attackers centrally (one can drop deeper). Let the wingbacks attack. That approach gives far better pitch control both offensively and in defence.

I guess it’s out of fear against better teams than last season which is sad. I’d hoped Martin would approach the EPL with some belief and we’d play our way and have the confidence to play like we know we can win. But honestly it’s like they line the team up thinking all other teams are better and we go into games to try to stop them.

Agree 100%. I would only add that it is early days and we have lots of new players to integrate.

And it was like someone switched the light on when Dibling came on and said ‘fuck this passing backwards shite, I’m running at these…”

Even Russ rightly recognised he was our biggest attacking threat and he was only in for fifteen mins. Better days ahead!

I mentioned him during the Euros, when he was running the show.  Cocky, jumped up, arrogant little shit!  I'd take him in a heartbeat for Saints.

I’m sure he’d love to play for a Serbian owner. The old double headed eagle goal celebration would have him training with the U11s.

  10. I think plan C should be Tyler Dibling. I know I know… he’s only twelve and we’ve had plenty of false dawns before (paging Alex Jankewitz - please report to the transfer window thread). But he looks like the real deal to me - if him and Charlie mean we can keep our AM money in our pocket we can spend on a keeper and a number 9, as well as Wee Man and the Dortmund wonderkid. Let’s go.

@franniesTache look forward to seeing you at the Ted Bates statue at 6. Let’s hope there aren’t too many away fans this time. Got my foam hands ready to give the boys a rousing reception

Honestly mush, kids today eh? No respect for tradition.

Why can’t they just go down the Painted Wagon, have a few beers, fight the ICF down by the station, go to the game, have a few more beers, go down Top Rank, have another fight, throw up, have more beers and then go home?

    Anything else is just embarrassing.

Does anyone know which of our blocks are safe standing? Got my tickets, just interested to know if they’re nearby or not.

I’m assuming it’s going to be everyone standing everywhere, especially behind the goal, even up in the Gods. Bloody hope so anyway.
