I agree. It will be a very tough game, but you can play to win by sitting deep and hitting us on the break. Norwich seem to have ability to run a game but if they are up against it are a threat on the break too. They are quite similar to us in many ways. From what I have seen of them recently, they seem to be brimming with confidence. They totally dominated Leicester and Preston and came back well from being a goal behind against Sheffield United. They seem to be scoring goals from all angles. On the break, through continuous pressure, free kicks, corners... Slimane plays the Azaz role finding pocket of spaces between midfielder and defence. We need to cut out the suppky to him. They have some pace out wide. Ahmed is a decent player and Maghoma can be dangerous too. The one weakness seemed to be defending set pieces. They have a couple of big centre halves (Cordoba is built like Quashie) but the rest of the side don't seem great in the air.

Hope so. Gives us half a chance as their first eleven will murder is. Their second string might be something like this: Kepa White Mosquera Hincapie Skelly Dowman Havertz Norgaard Trousard Jesus Martinelli

shows just how tricky every game is in this league. grabbing a late point when playing badly looks a lot better now.

i agree, but reffing a game is pretty tough already, and it's not easy to determine whether there was intent or not. when players have a high foot and connect with a player on their blindside it often looks accidental, but they know what they are doing half the time.

i notice he started today with Pope on the Bench. maybe newcastle will actually buy him in the summer

agreed. we are not afraid to make a professional foul and take a yellow these days. the 'after you sir' lightweight side of last season has long gone

I think you must have missed the game when several thousand saints fans waved their mobile phone at him.
-
they got bloody 8 minutes of added time in the second half alone. If we wasted any, it sure wasn't missed by the ref.
-
yeah, I think the tears in their eyes prevented them seeing Simms elbow Manning in the head

check the highlights. You will be amazed how he didnt score. Peretz had a great game apart from that though.
-
He's a proper keeper, but he's not perfect. the chance just before half time - he is absolutely rooted to his line and the lad should score. IMO he has to come for that. When the lad heads it he's only about 3 yards from the goal

champions elect, I guess. They have had a tough old time, so dont mind if they get promoted. It could have been us if SISU had acquired us. Thankfully it didnt happen.

tonda changed things by adding an extra body in the midfield. worked pretty well. about a thousand crosses from cov to deal with. and by and large we did. they should have scored from a couple of those crosses, but didn't. A couple of great saves from Peretz too. we were pretty solid. we broke quite well again, and had a few half chances. went in front and then worked our socks off, again. second goal was from a set piece. pen was unlucky. they had a brilliant chance to level it at the death. should have scored but shit straight at the keeper. big sigh of relief. greet 3 points. we are going to make the play offs. Been saying it since we murdered stoke. Downes is back to his best. Azaz playing well. Just need Scienza back asap.

I thought it was just really unlucky. no intent at all, not that that matters of course. a pen, but unlucky.
-
to be fair, Cov created more than enough chances to win it, which is why they are miles clear, but it was our day.
-
what a difference that, bree, a keeper, downes return to fitness/form and a striker have made.
-
nice work Stu
-
he of little faith
-
your inners don't seem too wise.
-
for Cov, right?
-
nope

exhausted. great stuff. love this type of game. well done lad. lots of effort all over the pitch. rode our luck a little, but thats how it goes sometimes. Wednesday was just a blip.

7 minutes of injury time wtf?
-
that's football. some days you go behind and you just cant get it going. All teams have off days. Consider it a point gained and you will feel better about it. we'll get 6th place by one point and that late goal from Larin will be the one that got us there.
-
it was a point gained.
