  1. Sessegnon looked good whenever I saw him at Fulham. Feels like a good fit.
  2. I see Leeds are looking at Mickael Cuisance at Munich. Lovely left foot. Wants first team football. Hoj mark II, but in a good way?
  3. these contrast starkly the second hand comments on his ability. He looks like he has a nice right foot, lots of composure and can pick a pass. Decent long shot on him too. Not sure of his defensive attributes.

    Obafemi or Adams?

Interesting observation. Certainly good for Ings to have someone to play off. Whether it ruins the balance of the side is less sure at this point. I'd expect him to score more than 8 in 38 league games, if they are both playing up front. He should be scoring the chance again Palace and when in top form I'd expect more from the chance he had against Burnley.

    Obafemi or Adams?

...and he might be right (certainly I like his all round game), but I don't think Shearer really knows if Che is a good player or not. It was a throwaway comment rather than an insightful and based on a lot of reseach-type comment. Genuine question, does it take one to know one?
  6. there was a two opportunities for him yesterday. The first, a first time shot from a nice cross, but he put it over. It wasn't easy, but top strikers may well score there. The second, a ball over the top that he didn't have enough pace to out run the CB when given half a yard start. I like him, but unless he takes more chances we'll need to try again as we have Long filing that role already.
  7. good first half, non existent second, as was true of us offensively as a whole.
  8. You can see the games or perhaps even opponent where he will be useful. Wood, Mitrovic, Giroud, Carrol...although Burnley are the side that plays most into his hands.
  9. How do Burnley win games? They are terrible. They have always been terrible. Hoof it down the channels, hope for the best, pick up the pieces, lots of hopeful crosses...and that's it. Thought we worked hard, and deserved the win, just, based on the first half dominance, but we have to offer far more on the counter. We need a pacey ball carrier, badly unless Djendepo improves. We need some fresh legs in the middle too. Happy days though. Something to build on at least.
  10. Gotcha. I thought you meant fans were saying they didn't rate him anyway. Hard to say if we were interested. Clubs that scout a player, which we may have, are often mentioned as being interested in order to increase fee/wage. Equally, we may well have been snubbed. As you say, no shame there. PSV are a pretty decent club and we are, well, middling at best. Who d'ja fancy us buying to fill the CM spot?
  11. I can't see (m)any posts on here saying they weren't fussed. I can see quite a few annoyed people at missing out and a few saying that we might not have been in for him, but next to no posts saying they weren't that into him. I'm not that fussed - an opinion based on only watching three youtube videos, so almost worthless - but I've only just posted that, so doesn't really support you post.

    Coronavirus

why would anyone without a genuine reason go to the trouble of getting an exemption badge? Those that don't wear a mask do so because they don't believe they work and want everyone to know that, don't they?
  13. at least we are looking to sign players that other clubs also rate. Better than signing dross only we can see anything in. There is always another option. You just have to hope we have spent enough money on scouting to have done due diligence on enough options.
  14. outstanding. Feb: I've taken over. March: I'm not money laundering
  15. local MPs, not at all pampering to fans/voters, will no doubt be coming to their rescue shortly by insisting the government allows fans to attend their games to ensure such a vital part of the economy is unaffected.
  16. the trust jumped ship because the future maintenance bill looked scary, but do you think it could have actually been covered by the normal income and paid the wages of the players you have had over the last few years (and £2m transfer fees on Marquis)? I still don't really understand why fans sold up.
  17. which is never taken by these Italian clubs. ballbags. I said a few years ago that these failed signings would remain on our books until their contracts expired, and thats exactly how its panning out. I guess that the problem with being at the top end of the player wage payers pyramid

    Wesley Hoedt

why would you get a loan fee if you are still having to pay half his wages? Surely you'd just get Lazio to pay a greater percentage of his wages? Doesn't make sense, unless their is some sort of tax reason I am unaware of?
  19. I also have that game in my mind. I'm really surprised he hasn't managed to get a second chance at Chelsea, but maybe they just have lots of other (better) options. Doesn't feel like a good fit though really. Monaco, Chelsea, Milan...Saints? I aint gonna happen. Not sure why I suggested it.
  20. seems like a good deal for us. Never thought we'd get a loan fee for him and always thought we'd have to supplement his wages. To secure a transfer fee for him, great news.
  21. IMO Lingard was one of the most overrated players in the history of the game. A couple of very good goals (in big games at Wembley) and very little else. Why United gave him that huge contract I will never know. We'd have to make him our most highly paid player, unless united too a huge hit. No fucking thank you.
  22. I wondered if Tiémoué Bakayoko might be worth considering? Massive failure at Chelsea, but he looked a top player at Monaco. Loans to Milan and Monaco didn't lead to transfers, but the fees mentioned were hefty, so maybe no surprise they didn't sign him permanently. He might consider a little old club like us as beneath him, he might not. He's on massive wages at Chelsea (about £110k a week), but Chelsea paid £3.5m of that when we went to Milan, which would mean about £45k a week. For me, Chelsea is a club that has a lot of talented players that need new homes to allow them to get their careers back on track.
  23. nice work. Very handy for someone that nips in and out of this thread - I totally missed some of those links.
  24. Hmmm. I'm not impressed to be honest. He is clearly an athlete, but not sure about him on the ball. Again, these three short videos are not enough to make any reasonable decision on.
  25. cheers. I like the sentence: ...he was not only the best player for Toulouse, but he was also one of the best players in Ligue 1 last season. Watched this video too. He nicks the ball off opponents well, which is obviously needed, but with ball at feet he looks very limited. Again, a youtube video tells you little, but my opinion matter nothing as to whether he comes or not.
