  1. the long and short of it is the loan taken out to buy the club will be paid back from income/profits from the club, not income/profits from the Gao's other businesses. The loan is therefore intrinsically linked with the club. I suspect it wont be too long before the club itself becomes the asset at which the loan (perhaps renegotiated) is secured against. Its the same method as the Glaziers, whereupon they use the club to buy the club for them, with no cost or risk to themselves, but leaving them with one hell of a fully paid for asset at the end. Nothing illegal, it just means the club has less money to work with every year. I don't see any positives at all here. More money leaves the clubs coffers and goes straight into bankers pockets. The club is financially worse off, not better after this buyout. Kat, who I have never had any issues with has sold the club to the highest bidder.
  2. the debt to Kat may have been paid off, but what about this great big ****ing loan used to buy our club? Currently secured against Gao's assets, but how long before it is shifted to the club? We seem to have our own transfer saga starting.
  3. Yep. Never understood why people were unhappy with the previous owner. Lets see if that grass is greener...
  4. Club bought using a loan. Loan paid off by club earnings. The owner will in ten years time have a £300+m asset he can sell. No brainer really. All he has to do is keep us in top flight...
  5. this. Proof of funds was all that they would have cared about. They got that and the rest was PR spin.
  6. can it be shifted across to the club?

    CB Situation

If Hoedt signs then the Bednarek signing does seem a little strange to me. No harm in overloading in this position, or any come to that, so long as there is quality as well as quantity.
  8. and a good one.
  9. wasn't his actual job that of an investment advisor?
  10. Normally Celtic have to sell a player to pay the rent after they have finished the champions league qualifiers. Is that the case this year?
  11. Interesting that he used his own money. I wonder if SFC will eventually be sold on to Lander and whether they will use loans to acquire it. Personally I've been very happy with Kat's ownership, but I don't really understand why she he decided to sell now (unless she thinks the value has topped out) nor why she has sold to this guy. If we are all slightly nervous, why isn't she? I also don't understand why she has bothered to retain a 20% share? Can someone clarify that last point for me. Does she think that with him as the owner the company will thrive and this she will make even more on the deal?
  12. he's an extremely frustrating player. Tremendous first touch and ability, which you really miss when he doesn't play, but he leaves you wanting so much more. He doesn't shoot. As has been said he doesnt have that killer instinct.
  13. they played so deep, with absolutely no ambition. We did well to create so many chances with such little space available...
  14. its almost like he is allergic to shooting and scoring. I know he get the odd goal, but for the amount of chances and times he gets in goals scoring positions, not nearly enough
  15. decent assessment that. He gOt about the pitch a little better last season, so let's hope we see continued progression in that area. If we don't he will continue to underwhelm many.
  16. It's really not that hard to spot a top one. They jump out at you, there are so few.
  17. This is the **** that was banned from training horses for three years (reduced to 18 months on appeal) specifically for neglecting his horses, who when interviewed some time later said "there was no cruelty or neglect, nothing like that".
  18. like us they seem to have a good eye for centre backs.
  19. Hard to say as I didn't watch those Chelsea games, but he won motm in his first few games that season and he did play in the CL final too. I think it's fair to say he has improved so let's hope Targett does the same. Looked bright in the first half of the Brentford game that I saw, but let's see how he does up against the likes of Zaha who has made him look a mug in the past.
  20. Playing devils advocate here, if he was at say West Brom, would you want us to go out and buy him and for how much?
  21. got to ask why all the top six are not busting a gut to sign him, do none of them think he is worth £65m?
  22. Turned down Spurs to ensure he got first team football.
  23. I was going to type the same thing. He has also played right back a fair bit too, showing his versatility. I guess whilst Cedric and Bertrand are here he/we might be reluctant to make that move, but the fact his coach has said that once he fills out he will make a decent CB means he could get games no matter what. I've seen him linked with United, but so was Clyne and he came to us. Maybe he is too expensive for us now?
  24. gonna need a shed load of fuel of some sort to turn all those turbines needed to power those fackers. By then, them and China will own everything worth owning
  25. especially if unlike Arsenal, they have to front up a serious wedge to sign him
