“The end of an error”. - Lewis Coombes tweet

I know people say (probably correctly) the fans should not be let anywhere near the decision making process at a club but this is one occasion where the fan base, almost to a man and women, saw the writing on the wall a long time before the Board. In fact some from Day One knew the appointment to be reckless and stupid. Sports Republic have let the fans of this football club down, big time, and need to cut out the arrogance and smugness that makes them think they always know best. They - and they alone - should shoulder the total responsibility of relegation as it is or very much on their watch.
-
Not sure Ankersen should be given the remit of picking the next manager. Selecting Jones has to be one of the biggest Board cock ups of all time.
-
For me the overriding problem is no longer Jones, as bad a manager that he is. The bigger issue is Rasmus Ankersen who, after making a truly catastrophic decision has failed to recognise or rectify it.
-
For me the biggest problem is no longer Jones, it’s Rasmus Ankersen who has made a disastrous decision and then criminally has failed to recognise and rectify it.

Er that’s because I still am the club historian Manji. But when did you ever get anything right? Ha ha. I’ll leave a little picture for you
-
I get your answer. I guess a plastic fan wouldn't really care that much to want Jones gone. When Saints drew at home to Port Vale in the FA Cup and they sacked Branfoot I was pleased we hadn't won. So I celebrated by going to the replay. Got very wet.

Devil's Advocate: OK we win tomorrow 2-0. Ankersen smugly tells Alfie House/Jacob Tanswell "we've turned a corner, Jones will have the rest of the season come what may, the win vs Wolves has convinced me he has what it takes which I always thought he did". We lose our next 7 games (which we might have won a couple had we a new manager). You see where I am coming from here? It's not that unlikely a scenario.
-
I wonder how many on her will “take” a defeat tomorrow if it definitely means Jones gets sacked that night?
-
He's the one that brings it into the debate. Fine everyone has the choice of a God but bringing it into your professional life is unnecessary.
-
So the rather pathetic reason for not dispensing with Jones is …….wait for it, they want to give him more time with the new players!!!! So are these new players going to train him how to conduct himself in post match interviews? Are these new players going to make him a better manager/coach? The Leeds board had no compunction getting rid and they had new signings. We are being run by egotists.

There's the definition of insanity right there
-
I can see us winning this 1-0 and a smug Ankersen claiming we were right not to sack Jones. This will be followed by 5 consecutive defeats and the whole circus will be up and running again but of course it will be much too late by then.

Rupert reading the letter and Chorley throwing the coins was actually an AGM. Lawrie McMenemy was there with Mark Dennis his bodyguard. It was abandoned half way through.
-
With respect those questions will be easy to answer with waffle. And there’s no point expecting a comeback question. The question needs to be short succinct and aimed at the jugular on a vulnerable topic which is indefensible. So put yourself in Ankersen’s shoes and think what question would I not like to be asked. That is if they allow it.
-
The questions need to focus on areas they know they can’t defend. Jones’s post match comments which have been roundly condemned nationally is one area they will find hard to argue against.
-
If Ankersen gets his way and gives Jones more time then a dire situation immediately becomes even worse with lasting damage between the owners and the fan base. If the Board cannot see that then they are not fit for purpose. Untenable means untenable now. Say we draw v Wolves then lose (likely), what then. It’s turning into a circus and Ankersen saving face is putting the club into serious peril.
-
Unbelievable. 90/92 recent form. He’s as big a reason we are in the shit in the first place.
-
Jones will go today. He hasn’t helped himself with his ludicrous post match comments, references to God etc but I hope he recovers. Whoever appointed him should have a long hard look at himself and his methods because the appointment was one helluva costly mistake and so so predictable.
-
Adkins is the ultimate happy clapper full of banal meaningless slogans and insincere positivity and like Jones is not a PL manager in a month of Sundays
-
I’ve just walked down Lodge Rd and saw a man who looked like Nathan Jones being arrested. There is hope.
-
If what you say is true (there's another if) then more fool him for not being his own man.

There's still 25% of the country intending to vote Tory
