no, this season has been a slide into boringness. never said that about Poch (pretty impressive, tbh, on the false narrative front). I don't see the ambition in appointing Puel. Hope the new lot can inject a bit of passion via a new manager
It's looking more like Koeman was right: our ambition has plateaued, with the high water mark probably being the team he inherited (or arguably Pochettino had). Since then it has been a downward slide into boringness. We are at another critical time. Appoint a new good manager and give him funds and we may progress. Continue and next season will be a long battle against the drop
At least it holds the prospect of potentially being enough reason to give Puel the push. Doesn't it? Or maybe not with the takeover hanging over the whole club like a smelly wet blanket
He doesn't inspire them (or me). That's pretty much the crux of it. We need someone with an ounce of charisma who doesn't base everything on the avoidance of risk and a dull, conservative approach to packing the defence first and then not really worrying about how we will get forward and try and score. Needs to go before the end of the season to send a signal that we're preparing for next, and hope to keep more than the obvious leavers (VVD and Bertrand - ie massive part of our defence)
But the big zip we need, the connecting 'glue' that turns us into a unit is provided by the manager. And this guy hasn't got it.

To be fair we've been much better than recently but are devoid of ideas going forward. And playing a much better team that can be clinical and have a decent keeper.

Gabbi looked pretty bored by the service and being so far off. Have to say Davis has looked very poor tonight. Rest not bad
