I'm not sure they would, given how that may affect any appeal. Personally feeling a bit worried now, but hoping for fine and points.
-
We should hope for a Chelsea and City win tonight, not just because Spurs going down will be funny and the title race needs to go the distance but because it keeps the media interested elsewhere. Meanwhile the EFL can sneak out the announcement about us staying in the final but getting a fine and points. Please God.

I think Hull will be thrown out and it will be a Middlesbrough v Saints final. They have seen incriminating pictures of McBurnie’s beard. It deserves a sporting sanction.
-
Has anyone else bought a ticket but not had any email confirmation? Starting to see conspiracy everywhere at the moment! 🙂 I reckon we'll hear tomorrow and hunch says points and fine. In other news my daughter got a new iPhone today and showed me the Zoom on it. 'You should get a job with Saints', I quipped. Too soon.
-
If there was something at 1230, Talkshite would be trailing it, for sure. I'm supposed to be buying tickets at 1.30 so I hope there's nout in it!

How about if you're standing at a window waving your Willy Salt about? *gets coat*
-
Hedge fund i thank you. 😊
-
1. If Will Salt deleted all his stuff, how did we gain advantage, since we wouldn’t have anything to look at? 2. Why didn’t he just use his eyes if it was just about whether certain players were training? 3. Or just get Meta glasses. we can’t even do spying well.

They hired new lawyers overnight 😉 Fair point. My bad. Was fuming so much... !

I've never texted a channel before but listening to the morons on Talksport I couldn't resist. No answer so far. What a bunch of twats. My texts: One charge without any evidence and midway through an investigation and most pundits including yours acting as judge and jury. I look forward to your similar forensic assessments of Manchester City's 130 charges. Why no consistency? PS the 'technology' you mentioned that is able to transmit recordings... an iPhone? Get a grip What is Scott Minto's evidence that Tonda Eckert is 'guilty', as he said just now? And why is everyone leaping to conclusions while the hearing is on, without hearing any of the evidence given? You're being spun, boys. Could we also have some views on how guilty Man City is over their 115 charges, while you're at it? 😉 We've not denied it or commented because it is going to a hearing you absolute muppets Crook saying 'don't come on and defend the indefensible' is tantamount to him saying Southampton are guilty, which he denied saying 20 seconds earlier. It IS defensible, because that is what is going on right now. My estimation of you as journalists has gone down considerably. Ask yourselves this: what could a bloke with an iPhone possibly learn that will somehow change everything in football?

Really hate all this. And I can't help but feel that the onset of VAR and its effects on football - the need for instant punishment and re-refereeing of the game - has resonances in the confected uproar around Spygate. Subsitute the ref at the monitor for the EFL meeting today and the stadium crowd for the baying mob on social media and pundits judging guilty before being proved innocent. It's all so shit and the beautiful game it ain't. Personally I hope we get anything other than being chucked out of the final, and suspect that might be the case. And once the verdict has been given, the whole carnival can move on. Not that it will to the lawyer-protected Man Citys or Chelseas of this world, who pop a gag on everything connected to the media ever (or until Pep judges it's time to move on, else his managerial talents be tainted).

No chance Southampton will be kicked out of the final, says Simon Jordan on Talksport just now. Crook saying he expects a heavy fine and points deduction if still in EFL next season. Tickets getting announced tomorrow apparently Have to say that whenever Crook reports on this he does seem heavily biased, like he really doesn't like us at all. Ho hum.

Rod Jane and Freddy DEFINITELY had something going on

Saw something about ticket details being taken down from our site. Gulp. Suspect this will blow over as footie journo resources are taken up with the Prem championship games this weekend and the VAR Scottish championship saga. Hope so. Some of the morons on Talksport yesterday were just a joke, outdoing themselves with their indignation and suggesting that the manager was 'omniscient' and therefore should go too. All while everyone says absolutely nothing about Man City. And to add to that conspiracy story, I was watching City yesterday. Palace had a goal ruled out for offside early on. No lines, no replays, pundits said nothing. Most odd. Think there is a battalion of lawyers in charge of football these days. Hope we have some lined up for this joke of a SpyGate, as am worried about the EFL just bowing to the wailers.
-
But that wouldn't apply if the Prem as different organisation, no?
-
I still maintain that it is absolutely moronic for the club to have sanctioned this if it did. Just such a shame that we it means we can only half celebrate a win tonight. But it is also pretty rich for TalkSport's resident twats to keep spouting off about this with very little evidence whilst remaining completely silent about, say, Man City's far more serious 130 charges. Or Chelsea's decades of criminality. Game is so awash with money that such corruption and bias is bound to follow. Such a shame it has tarnished a briliant end to the season. Can't help feeling there are too many people who have a grudge against us for us not to get off scott free, like the last time we were slapped with a ludicrous points off. Fuck it. Let's at least smash them tonight.
-
Absolute joke. We should be throwing money at lawyers and countersuing, Trump style
-
Someone just texted me ( la mate) incredulous that we have been deducted nine points. My heart sank. I went to the BBC and here and find no evidence of that. But the scary thing is it didn’t seem completely unbelievable. Think they’ll do anything to get their beloved Wrexham back in!
-
Or he has an 'accident'. Sorry, that's the Mafia league. My bad.
-
He was the one you said was staying as you had the usual 'inside info'. PS Saints will beat Millwall 2-1 in the final at Wembley. That's mine.
-
Calm down, Fareham Saint. Has James Ward-Prowse left yet? 😉
-
Spygate. What a stupid thing for the club to do. Chips away at the goodwill we have built and so unnecessary. Embarrassed to be associated to this spying business, to be honest, and hope the bad karma now doesn't bite us in the arse. They'll be even more bang up for it now.
-
Not sure how Bragg left everything at Wembley in the 61 minutes he was on the pitch
-
Easy to be disappointed about last night but they have done exceptionally well to get this far after the club appointed our worst ever manager beforehand. I thought they looked a bit leggy at times, especially in the middle, where I couldn't really fathom why Charles was kept on. But it's to be expected after such a long season and so soon after Wembley. Thought Ipswich looked dangerous at times and if they keep McKenna they will do okay in the Prem. Big if though with the merry go rounds to come. So anyway, well done Saints on making the play-offs. I hope Middlesbrough smash Wrexham as I couldn't bear us playing them again and all the media bollox. Hope we get to Wembley again. PS Larin - what a goal.
-
Absolutely amazing support yesterday. Singing from start to finish, brilliant atmosphere inside the stadium and out, and City revealed to be the entitled tourists they are. Thought we matched them for long periods and of course that goal will live long in the memory before the luckyish deflection and, frankly, worldy winner. Think we did ourselves proud. Well done all. Except those who bought half and half scarves. 😉
