Kieran Djilali (ex Palace, ex AFC Wimbledon) was a trialist as well, I'm sure they said there were four trailists but don't know who the fourth was.
-
Yeah, that's my worry, but the temptation to get in at 10/1 for Plymouth to win by 3+ won me over. Plymouth are mid-table League Two quality, but Eastwood's just been released from a Conference North side and he's likely to be their best player.
-
That'll make sense, they've still got the transfer embargo but imagine that the Football League would make an exception for a goalie as Pompey's most senior keeper is the one out of last year's under-16s.
-
The wikipedia page on Maidstone United gives a good route map for this.

Portsmouth Football Club (2010) in Administration has the Golden Share, so no problems there, if PKF wanted to, PFC could be in admin for the entire season, they just can't start a second season in administration. The Football League conditions apply if/when PKF sell the assets (including the Golden Share) to a new company, the Football League has to approve the new company, PFC(2012) to receive the golden share.

Does anyone know if Dumbaya, Howard, Rodgers, McLeod and the rest are still training with Pompey? Feeling a bit of buyers regret over my £50 punt on Plymouth to win by 3+ goals last night.
-
Anyone who wants to get some easy money, Sky Bet have got Plymouth to win by 3 goals or more at 10/1.
-
That can't be right because they've already liquidated the company since relegation from the Premier League, the Premier League company was Portsmouth City Football Club.
-
Yes, he does, he could let PFC(2010) go into liquidation, then buy the assets of the club from PKF for £1 more than the PST can pay, apply to the Football League for the golden share. Pompey gets another -15 points for exiting admin without a CVA but on the other hand Portpin wouldn't even have to pay the 2p in the pound to existing creditors. Then sit back, pick up the remaining parachute payments and exit stage right after the 2013/14 season and Pompey's relegation to the Conference.
-
Wouldn't say that I saw it coming but the mystery of AA advising TBH becomes clearer. Tal Ben Haim was always talking about PKF refusing to compromise on their fees.

Looks like the fun's started earlier than we thought it would. From the Pompey News Chainrai threatens to walk away from Pompey over adminstrator-fee dispute BALRAM Chainrai has threatened to walk away from Pompey in a dispute over administration fees. Mr Chainrai’s firm Portpin has been poised to take on Portsmouth Football Club again after the sale of Liam Lawrence was confirmed yesterday. Discussions have been ongoing between Portpin and administrators PKF to finalise arrangements. But the takeover is now in jeopardy because a deal on PKF fees – believed to be £1.8million – cannot be met. Speaking to The News, Mr Chainrai said: ‘Me and my business partner Levi Kushnir are very depressed with the situation over the fact PKF have refused to do a compromise deal over their fees. ‘Because they are failing to do a compromise with fees, there’s no way to move forward and take the club out of administration. ‘We are waiting for them to follow through on this. ‘We will be waiting, but we won’t be waiting for long.’ Administrator Trevor Birch has not confirmed the amount, but said negotiations are taking place. He said: ‘Over the past six weeks or so I have been striving – in very difficult circumstances – to fulfil the terms of the CVA with Portpin. ‘This is so the club can come out of administration before the new season starts and have the best opportunity to move forward in a positive manner – as all the fans and employees of the club want to see. ‘At such a critical stage it is inappropriate to conduct confidential negotiations through the media and therefore until matters are finalised, one way or another, I do not intend to make any comments.’

But what if the "generous offer" to TBH is, nothing now, nothing for the next two years and then £1.5m per year for years three and four. On one hand that's £3m offered, but practically that's nothing as Pompey will be bust again before TBH ever sees a penny. So for TBH and the others the choice could be between nothing and a promise that is worth nothing.

Is that the 15 year old Gib ended the game with on Friday?
-
Maybe we should write an open letter to all the trailists explaining that this is how Pompey fans will react to them when they have the temerity to expect to be paid the money that's on the contracts Pompey want them to sign.
-
They don't need to give any notice, they can pay money in lieu of notice, or the Pompey way which would be to tell them all to get to be unsecured creditors and be paid 1% of what they are owed on the 31st of Never.

Trousers and TheDellDays, aren't you worried that if the police get a privileged status of being allowed by law to assault anyone they want, that will attract people who want to be allowed to assault anyone they want to join the police. If people are to have confidence that the police will make society better, then the police will have to work much harder to not let thugs join up. Not all police are thugs, but it's not as uncommon as apologists would like to suggest, there was one PC at Shirley station in the 80s that was particularly notorious as being "a little short-tempered". It's in the police's own interests to clean up it's act.
-
Because what this jury's decided is that any policeman, for any reason whatsoever, can decide to shove you to the ground and cause whatever injury they like, up to death, and that is considered reasonable force. Policing only works if there's consent to be policed, the normal law-abiding population shouldn't need to be frightened of a bunch of thugs in uniform.

Hang on, that's the youtube highlights that even the pompey forums found within about 10 minutes of the original Pompey News story. I have a low opinion of the clowns running PFC, but can't believe they didn't know _anything_ about Darjan Curanovic before inviting him for a trial?
-
I think we did too much research on Darjan Curanovic. Appy was quoted in the Pompey News on 6th July and made an interesting slip Not okay in Slovenia (a reserve keeper for a relegated first division club) but okay for Slovenia. Did Appleton really think he was getting his hands on a Slovenian international keeper?

Fun comment on the North Stand Chat version of "Are Pompey Dead Yet" Fair play to Brighton fans, they know what's going on.

Doesn't look like the Claret and Blue chap does discussion.

This is the situation as I understand it. In the event of any employer going out of business, the unpaid wages of the employees are unsecured creditors, in Pompey's case they are in for a very small share of very little or nothing. Some players (if they have been there over 2 years) can claim statutory redundancy pay, but as that's capped at £430 per year of service, that's not going to be very much. However, if a newco takes over the assets of Pompey with the intention of competing in the Football League, the FL will make the newco agree to pay all football creditors as part of the conditions of transferring the golden share over. So, players get everything - if there's a new Pompey. Players get almost nothing if there's no new Pompey and PST start a new team at the bottom.
-
Six starts, he also played in the promotion/relegation playoff against NK Dob which resulted in a 4-0 loss. But he wasn't there all season, he was at Third League Svoboda for the first half of the season (they got relegated too that year)
-
It's a funny way of "voting" too. Pompey get to select which five ideas they want and then one fan "selected at random" will make a decision. That sounds like it's sure not to be fixed by our fishy friends. Maybe they heard of One Man, One Vote and got confused.

Does the Saints Trust still exist? It's still listed as a member organisation of Supporters Direct on the SD website and would be going to the SD AGM in June, one assumes if they still are in existance? Can they ask questions about this ridiculous appointment?
