  1. Nah, not a prayer of that happening. Norwich Union and Barclays are the largest creditors unlike in the case of LUFC where Bates was. NU and Barclays would want the highest offer and Lowe basically doesn't have a pot to **** in in the scheme of things. Out of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch the latter is the wealthiest so if any of the three were to become our new owner post administration Crouch is the likeliest. That said a consortium (possibly including Leon Crouch) is the likliest scenario IMO.

To be fair if any of the 3 get there grubby handn back on SFC after administration would be a bad thing. None of them have the funds or ability to make a difference so if we go into Admin I would want a fresh start completly and someone new in with drive and ambition.

That said I really dont want us to go into admin either. I dont see it as a way out and only see it as a huge step backwards that would not rid us of the bad eggs we have in the club.

  2. That's a bloody good question. The only thing I can think of is Killer's loss of form against Blackpool and subsequent injury. But I am not privvy to insider info.

Seemed like it was going OK until we got a few injurys and the team forgot how to pass to each other. We were playing with our back ups who were just about good enough to do OK in this league, albeit with up and down results, and since the injurys the backups havn't been good enough.

Dont know whats going on in training but the message just doesnt seem to be getting through. :(

  3. I remember old Saggy Chops playing the youngsters in the League Cup against Mansfield? and then saying they are not all they're cracked up to be after they got beat. I think we are all now learning that he was correct in his assessment.

wash your mouth out with soap!!!!!!!!

  4. But the luvvies keep telling us it so it must be true.

    all 2 of them?

I think you know my view that I would like to see the current lot absolutly no-where near our club so i dont think i am a luvie. but i still dont see an alternative to the current situation without some serious financial backing by way of either (hopefully) a take over or investment.

Crap being a saint right now :(

  5. Let us all get behind Lowey he has not revealed the real plan yet or is it more of the same.

think the plan is there for all to see.

we are skint. we need a cheap manager. kids are being played as they are cheap and it was hoped they are good enough. target this season is to stay up.

not sure whats more boring. people saying the above or people saying its all lowes fault

  6. I think that we can see the results of that. Of course, the understudies may one day be stars in their own rights but in the meantime the punters have taken their hard-earned dosh elsewhere.

I think the 1st few games we did Ok and many argued that there was more in this team in 1 game then last years team in a whole season.

But its all well and good playing nice passing football but when our problem defence last season is still the same problem with different personell this year the mood of the fans will be of no hope and therefor not much will to spend there dosh at the club.

I mean 0-0 is a clean sheet but Barnsley hardly had an attack for us to deal with and when they finally did we didnt deal with it, we had to rely on there player missing the goal!!!

If we kept clean sheets and in a confincing fasion that would at least give hope to the fans that we may nik a result because we are hard to beat.

No good having a team that might score 5 when we have a defence that will let in 6 ;)

  7. I see where you're coming from, but to extend your analogy it's like paying top price for a West-End show and finding that all the stars have been replaced by understudies. If the management continues with the same policy then the crowds will dwindle.

Surly that depends on weather the understudies can give a better performance than the so called stars?

  8. Maybe I disguised it too well - cunning as a fox me - but my original statement was having a dig at the bullsh1t PR the OS came out with to convince us JP was selected for his football genius, rather than the fact that he was cheap.

They also said he was the master of the 4,3,3, so therefore I questioned his experience with other formations, unless of course his is a 'jack of all trades, master of none'....

Only time will tell if he can bring the team back under control under a new system, but from what I saw at the Ipswich match, it looked more like the assistant coaches were calling the shots as far as the subs were concerned - they may have been acting on JP's instructions - but that is what it looked like....

Thing is the OS could hardly come out and say we got Jan cause he is cheap and we hope he can step up. We know its a huge step but if he doesnt make it we will have to shell out loads on a proper manager to fix his mistakes so for now he will have to do.

Its obvious we only just have a team that may be able to crack the 4-3-3 formation and with injurys jan will have to change things to suit the players he has left. I agree with you that we will have to wait and see on that one though.

  9. Yes, they are WINNING ........ possibly because they have a Manager who has sussed out how to utilise his Squad to play the type of Football necessary to get Promotion from Div 1 ..........

........ wish I could remember his name, I'd suggest it to Rupert

I bet Mandaric couldn't believe his luck

.......If .......Rupert .......would .......hear .......your .......suggestion .......he .......would .......probably .......think .......you .......have .......a .......stutter

  10. The "damage" to our Club was done over a period of time LONG BEFORE we "customers" have (now) opted not to go

It was done mainly by Lowe himself, with all his "I am always right and never wrong" attitude. For over Ten years he failed to bring in any Investment into SFC, in times that had a far better economical climate than at present.

That fact SHOULD have illustrated to most people, that, in reality, he had NO intention of getting people in to overthrow his own little personnal Empire, as that would have meant relinquishing his Numero Uno spot.

We DO have some very talented young players, but Lowe's stupid insistance that they alone could keep us ticking over was and is foolhardy in it's concept

We ARE most likely playing some of the BEST Football in the CCC, but what Lowe and Poortvliet fail to either acknowledge or understand is that "football" or "total football" with youngsters will not work in the CCC. All other teams possess great big defenders, who are street wise enough to knock the "pretty pretty" playmakers to one side.tt ewere far more

In some respects, we are playing delightful Football worthy of the Prem .... but we are NOT in the Prem. To suceed, or stay alive in the CCC we have to play CCC type football. It may not be attractive to watch, but it would get RESULTS

A lot of Fans are disallusioned with SFC, but, IMHO, most are fed up with Lowe, NOT the Team.

To gauge how bad it is, I would say this. Even under Branfoot, us Supporters cheered Saints on. The apathy shown to Saints can now be traced back 100% to the minute Lowe and Judas Wilde returned, IMHO

They will destroy our Club before long, but as their return was nothing to do wit Football, they won't give a damn

Since his return, Lowe has been acting more like an Administrator than a so called Chairman ...... so the quicker he steps aside and lets a real one do the job, the better.

Do it now, whilst we will still have a chance of staying in the CCC

So how did WBA get up last season? Was is playing the type of football that Derby did the year before or was it passing attacking football with the ball on the ground and skillfull players?

And I just dont get your last point at all. We are in the bottom 3 and are struggling to pick up any points yet you want us to go into administration now while we still have a chance of staying in the CCC????? How many points would we be deducted? How many of our best players would be gone in Jan? and for nothing like there probable value.

If Lowe is acting like an administrator now its because we dont have the funds at the club to do anything different. At least doing it this way we can be at least a little bit more chosey on price for players and we can do it without the points deduction that would definatly put us into League 1.

  11. Poorvleit has only been in football for 30+ years and has played at the highest international level, as well as being a qualified coach, but perhaps Weston is better qualified. The comment about lack of experience is mind-numbing. By all means, disagree with JPs plan to adapt the system to the players available, if you like, but not by trying to rubbish JP's knowledge of the game which is considerably higher than almost every poster on here, if not every poster.

He was an international in probably Holands best ever team yet they didnt win anything and his managment experience has hardly been anything to write a song about has it?

I admit he knows a hell of a lot more than i do about football but that doesnt mean his decissions are right every time.

  12. Moral blackmail will not work, it needs the club to get its act together, improve results and the supporters will return. In these difficult economic times, people EXPECT value for money when looking to spend their disposable income.

Lowe, Wilde etc and SLH have no devine call on anyones money or how its spent. Who throws good money around on substandard products. It should do what it says on the tin.

You and Roony are right though.

Results improve and the gates will improve but if the playing staff is further effected by the lack of revenue there is less chance the results will improve which will result in even lower gates.

no easy fix. Either the team start winning fast or we will continue to sink.

  13. MY comment came from the fact that DMG and BWP made the 4-5-1 into a 4-3-3 because they basically forgot about going backwards , in fact they actually made it a 4-3 and 3 down the middle against Barnsley.

Now according to some that was not Jan's fault because the players had crossed the white line.

If after 2 months or more we still do not grasp what is required is it the players fault or the managers

Good point. Last match I would blame the players as I cant see jan telling them to all go inside when this system depends on width. It may be a bit tough on the players because the 2 wide players are meant to be strikers so would naturally come inside. But due to injurys they were picked and we often hear the players say they will play anywhere as along as they play. BWP at least tried to stay wide some of the time.

If this continues though the blame will firmly be with Jan for picking players that either cant or refuse to follow instructions.

  14. I'm concerned too

It is (already) obvious that the first signs of panic have set in

Poortvliet is already beginning to tamper with the system that he, and Lowe heralded as the way forward.

In the UK Centre forwards are Centre forwards, goalkeepers are Goalkeepers etc etc,..... yet we see McGoldrick playing on the right wing

IT WILL NOT WORK JAN ....... he has been a Centre forward too long

As has been said ... if changes HAVE to be made, make them LIKE for LIKE. If you have an "understudy" RB, then PLAY HIM, otherwise what is the point of having an "understudy RB ????

Change brings unrest ...... and unfortunately, the tell tale signs are alreadt there.

Didnt McGoldrick play most of his games last season on the right?

Him not playing well last match was because he was plank and had a tantrum at not being the center forward.

Not disagreeing with you though. Contsant tampering will just cause us more problems. It seemed that after the 1st few games it was just 1 position that was being played with on the Right wing but get a few injurys and it seems like chaos selections.

  15. playing 4-3-3 only works if you have exceptional players as your middle 3' date=' i tried it with my son's under 14 team in a friendly game and we got swamped[/quote']

How often have we played 4-3-3 though? Most of the time we have had 2 holding midfielders which makes it 4-5-1 or 4-2-2-1-1.

The problem is we need those 2 holding midfielders to be exceptional like someone else has said. With Morgan in there I think we just about have 1 but without him it shows how lacking we are in that department. Maybe Pullis was brought in for that role too? But I wouldnt say he was exceptional there either and gasmi is an attacking midfielder so he will be challenging who ever plays in the hole.

As much as this system could be fantastic I just dont think we have the right players to pull it off.

    We need:

A strong back 4 including 2 strong defensive Full backs

2 strong holding midfielders that are very good passers of the ball

2 quick wingers that know how to get to the by line or when off the ball make the numbers up in the box

and 2 strikers (1 in the hole) that lap up crosses

Im struglling to see how many of those we have got and even worse I cant see that we have the replacments to cover injurys.

  16. hahahaha. What bolllocks.

Here's all you Luvvies arguing that Andrew Davies left for the draw of PL football (and not because Lowe pushed him), but yet we're supposed to believe that if a couple thousand more of us turned up, Adam Lallana would even consider turning his back on Tottenham Hotspur....:rolleyes:

To be fair Alps if the gates were 25,000 or above the club has more reason to tell other teams to get stuffed. With not so much revenue coming in the clubo will look at its assets as a way to ballence the books.

Attention from Prem clubs will always turn the heads of young kids at any team and we are no different.

The 2 scenarios I can see are:

Club is skint + Prem interest = Kid gone

Financially OK + Prem interest = Kid might go

In all honestly I think we will find it difficult to keep hold of any player that gets prem interest but what worries me is how easy a decission it will be for the club to let people go.

  17. You'll all be waiting a bloody long time but just keep your heads buried in the sand and pretend everything is OK.

    F o o k i n g morons deserve this abortion of a club as it is.

I dont think anyone has there head burried in the sand. (or at least very few do) And I for one dont think that everything is OK. But I also havnt seen anyone come up with an alternative answer to our problems.

We have no money and no-one realistically looking to invest.

We are playing a team that wants to play for us and everyone else is free to go.

Our gates are getting smaller each week and wont change unless the team start winning.

Lowe will be here if he is in charge or not and that in its self will always cause problems off the pitch but wont change unless my 1st point changes.

I would love the current set up to turn things round and do well but I would also love for some money to come into the club and get in the experience that is missing from this set up.

has anyone got any suggestions on how to achieve this? Or shall we just continue to slate what is trying to be done without having a realistic argument on a fix?

  18. You cannot even think of comparing us with Man Ure which is a well run club with right policies and decent players.

Not comparing us as a team or club but if there fans were asked what they thought of there situation you would still find complainers due to them being in so much debt. There fans even went off and started a new football club didnt they???

but the point i was making could of used any team as its not just the fans that can make it to matches that count. bigger the fan base the bigger the revenue which means the more tha t can be spent on the team and club.
