We've scored 2 goals in 2 games.

Have to agree. He is not good enough for us, sadly
I think most of us would agree that a solid goalkeeper would go a long way towards helping make sure we are not caught up in a relegation dogfight. Regretably it appears that we are stuck with AM and FF due to the fact that both are on big money. This could turn out to be a huge error if we go down due to goalkeeping errors. Like others I would bite the bullet and try to get Sam Johnstone in now.

Djenepo is a real enigma and I honestly can't make my mind up about him. It is almost like there is a brilliant player in there trying to get out but, so far, not quite managing to make it. He shows flashes of brilliance but perhaps his brain can't keep up with his legs - it's as though they are not in sync. If he could just improve his split second decision making I believe we'd have a gem on our hands. There is no doubt he can go by players and is a box of tricks but when are we going to see an end product? For sure he is getting stronger and is less inclined to go down at the merest of touches so I am pleased Ralph is giving him a go because a run of games might kick start Moussa into developing into a player who can cause opposition defences lots of problems. Can't put my finger on why but I just have a sneaky feeling he is on the verge of achieving his undoubted potential. Here's hoping.

West Ham don't mess around do they, they just get up the field as quick as they can. Either down the flanks, long ball, or just direct running.
They've got the power and presence to be very effective at that. They are your typical Moyes team, he's got his new Everton.
Think they have a lot more skill than you seem to be giving them credit for. They have the right blend of power, pace and skill from what I've seen.

Well if we do get this lad he looks as though he'll keep Peraud on his toes.

Yawn he’s not clearly the better, they are both very mediocre with different strengths and weaknesses.
Check their recent records playing for us.

I would rest as many as possible to keep them fresh for Newcastle, probably go with:
Forster
KWP, Simeu, Bednarek, Valery
Diallo, S.Armstrong
Redmond, Moi
Tella Broja
Weird that we are contemplating resting McCarthy to keep him fresh for Newcastle when FF is clearly the better of the two.

You'll need to explain to me what he did say then as I'm not as savvy as some on here obviously are.

That's mental. Neither of them should be offered new contracts and so their willingness to sign should be irrelevant to who plays.
Well I heard Ralph admit it during the pre-match press conference recently unless I misinterpreted what he said but it came across pretty clearly to me.

Part of me wishes we'd conceded from that mental moment when he was crawling around on all fours on his goal line while Salisu blocked the shot. It would have made pundits etc highlight him and possibly force Ralph to admit he's fucking useless.
What on earth is happening in training that makes him not pick Forster!
Ralph has gone on record as stating that McCarthy is our number one keeper purely on the basis that he is willing to sign a new contract whereas FF isn't. This is a ludicrous position to adopt and, as Derry pointed out, he treated neither Ings or Bernard in the same fashion so it is a case of double standards.

Many are highlighting our inability to deal with crosses, particularly from set pieces. I get the impression that we are adopting zonal marking, is that how others see it? If so, I'm certainly no fan of this as a way of dealing with crosses. Every player should be designated an opponent and stick with him like glue - if you can't win the header at least make a robust challenge so there are less free headers.

Plenty of positives after that performance not least the fact that we gained a point few of us expected. Tino continues to impress and when you think he has played twice ever in the Premire league how much more is there to come. Salisu was superb and Peraud looked much stronger for having last week's game under his belt. Romeu and JWP both not quite up to speed yet by their standards but much better today. Front two look to be developing a good understanding although AA will be disappointed to have missed that chance becaus it was the type he usually seems to bury. Stephens was much better this week and that is the level of commitment and concentration he needs to maintain. Theo was again a waste of space and, with KWP looking sharp when he came on, surely Raplph has to consider playing him right back with Tino ahead of him . McCarthy wasn't terrible but the goal was so soft and maybe cost us the win.

The shot was at a reasonable height so easier to save than the Greenwood shot which came through players legs
Both chances should have been taken but Armstrong is not as good as Greenwood at the moment
I think our miss was a bigger error tnan that of McArhty's as most would have expected Greenwood to score
How much do you thing Greenwood would be worth in the transfer market as a matter of interest?

So Stephens now knows he can put in a performance like last week and not even get benched. He can slash an agricultural clearance into the crowd to give away a needless corner, he can let his man go on countless occasions and not make the slightest effort to mark or track him or even check where he is. Walcott can make zero contribution either offensively or defensively and he stays in the team. McCarthy can play the deaf mute and stay rooted to his line while a forward steals in without him clattering him and still he's our number one keeper. This could get messy and if it does Ralph is culpable. As others have said what is the story regarding Stuart Armstrong and why is it shrouded in mystery? Think Ralph has finally lost the plot. We'll probably go and play a blinder now and win 🙂

I'm sure that we were planning on bringing in a new (first choice) keeper, offered McCarthy extension which he looks like he will sign (if he hasn't already), offered Forster an extension that he was hardly likely to accept, in the expectation that someone would come in for him, but it didn't happen, or else Forster said no to the move (Celtic supposedly). So it turns out we are stuck with both, Ralph prefers McCarthy (mostly because he will be a better #2) and with FF not willing to sign the contract that was offered he will be backup for this season before leaving on a free next summer. Bit of a silly situation we have got ourselves into, but unless something comes up in the next week looks like we have to live with it. Interesting to note that the Accrington keeper that we were apparently linked with (Toby Savin) has been benched so far this season, not too promising to be after Stanley's #2. Haven't heard what has happened to the Greek Albanian that were linked with. Personally don't think Forster is any better than McCarthy, much of a muchness, but clearly Alex is the club's preferred player for the longer term. Can't fathom what is going to happen to Harry Lewis.
You need to compare FF's recent record with McCarthy because it clearly shows that the former is streets ahead.

Exactly right. The total money we received for Vesergaard should have been used to buy as good a replacement as we could get not some basement bargain signing. If you budget for the Championship you'd better believe that's where you'll end up because there is no place for penny pinchers in the Premier league.

Nope, I think he's a diabolical keeper. I have no idea how he is in and around the England setup either.
Mind you, McCarthy was at one point.
I'd have thought they'd be better off signing Sam Johnstone from West Brom.

What’s your point, are you saying you have seen enough in you tube videos of him to decide if he can tackle, mark, read the game, intercept etc …
Wasn't making any particular point merely stating that I've seen all those skills present in videos of decent looking centre backs. Maybe this Brazillian has a whole bunch of his own videos showcasing his defensive abilities.

What player had all those squeezed into a 5 min video
Some of the videos are well over 5 minutes. How many seconds of a video does it take to highlight a collection of skills? They simply cut from one to the next in short segments

Just watched Broja skills video and one of his many classy goals really stood out for me. He's in an all blue kit and the ball is played into the box from the left wing and Broja opens his foot and strokes it into the bottom corner with a cushioned finish. The goal is a sublime piece of skill but Broja makes it look easy,
