  1. This is incredibly sad - young kid with the world at his feet, just married and three kids. Bang then it’s gone.

It certainly should put our day to day woes and quarrels into perspective. Life is precious and so is family. We are lucky.

They would rather have applicants that are not white males , fairly straightforward

I agree - it’s clear that’s what it insinuates and it’s bias. If I was a white male coach I would think twice about applying. No need to say it

Oh, does he have to try that? 🙂

I get the point - for clarity convince 2 players to stay and convince the remainder to leave!

  4. I’m excited - on the face of it a more positive decision- hopefully summer recruitment is good and he can convince some players to stay

    What will you do?

Ask for a refund on my season tickets which I should have held off renewing. Had enough of bad decisions by the club hierarchy - this would top it. Hopefully they will appoint Still though and this is all hot air

    I bloody would! 😅

He would be a hard sell to the fans and need one hell of a start to build credit.

If we go from Still or Rohl to Cleverley that might be the straw that breaks the camels back for me.

Why don't you do some reading/watching? I'm not seeing the word 'exceptional' flying around from the community on here, but it's not hard to understand why people are cautiously optimistic or open-minded to him being the next coach

As a young English coach who has done well for himself overseas - more than once - while in one 'main' European top divisions, against superior opposition, in his late 20s / early 30s, his stock is rising and it's not hard to understand that people might be fine/optimistic with him as a hire for a second division side in England

Im excited - this guy has pulled teams in bad situations into good situations on a number of occasions. He has achieved over and above in every job role. Arguably has achieved more than Danny Rohl as a manager

I just struggle to shake off my apathy about this particular issue tbh! But it got out of hand and the behaviour towards Kathleen Stock at Sussex University by trans activists was very unacceptable and dangerous. I’m sure that’s had a factor in today’s judgement.

I think you might underestimate the importance of the outcome- this means that institutions can now legitimately stop men competing in women’s sport, stop men going into women’s toilets and changing rooms and stop men going into women’s prisons with reduced risk of BS human rights argument and challenge. I think this should be celebrated because it means that the distinction between men and women is maintained which is fundamental for society.

if the decision goes the other way some of the legal entitlement and madness that would come from it, I already played out with a couple of friends much clever than me and it’s scary.

It’s not an accident Labour’s fortunes improved since they distanced themselves from it, and it didn’t help the Democrats last year.

It’s an issue I’m very agnostic about and I’ve got nothing against trans people whatsoever. But hopefully there’s a decline now in people saying my pronoun is this/that. There’s a hundred and more issues of critical importance than this. One less poxy culture war issue.

It’s an issue I’m very agnostic about and I’ve got nothing against trans people whatsoever.

Phew - the first part of the sentence I thought you had turned into a raging transphobe ;)

Why are adult males so excited by this? We've got clarity, which was needed in law, but it not sure why people are rejoicing about something which makes no difference whatsoever to them.

If you can’t see the implication of the Supreme Court judgement going the other way then think harder (only a little bit)!

Saying common sense prevails isn’t the same as having a phobia. Some of the most ‘liberal’ seem to delight in putting people in ‘phobic’ boxes. One could almost say bigoted

Either way it shows how messed up society is that this even being discussed. The Supreme Court have just confirmed what humans have believed for the last x thousand years. It ain’t rocket science but for some reason some allegedly rationale people thought otherwise. A moment of rationality in a mental world. It appears the tide of madness is slowly turning

I feel sorry for these poor souls who are being instructed to ring an audience that they know are going to be disgruntled at best. Thankless task.

I agree poor guy. I was very nice to him (and polite) but I asked him to relay the feedback regarding this season and that ticket prices should reflect the misery of this year. They should get paid danger money

  13. Got a call from the ticket office asking if I wanted to use my credit from this season. The chap was very nice so in a polite way I explained my disappointment that the players were a poor example of work ethic for my children so didn’t want them to be exposed to bad influences hence regrettably I was unable to attend any further matches for the rest of the season.

anyway he said pricing for next season was likely to be made public end of this month.

  14. Will Still is thriving at Lens even though they keep selling players | Ligue 1 | The Guardian

Lens president wants Will Still to remain at the club - Get French Football News

I read quite a bit about him before this season and there were a lot of positives being said. Seems though he has continued it this season in difficult circumstances. Not sure what the objection would be based on his track record so far, other than he hasnt managed in England (neither had Poch or Koeman).

It needs something a bit more radical to shake the stale feeling of the club. I would like Rohl too.

Anyone can say whatever they want, whether that’s happy clappy or giving them dogs abuse.

Personally, I wouldn’t be clapping them.  For me, part of the problem is their attitude and lack of effort.

Societally, clapping is used to show approval, appreciation or excitement.

I think that answers the question. It would be a better use of time to clap paint drying because it’s doing something productive.

its rewarding incompetency, which is historically shown to be folly.

I left on 87 there was a pint in The Devonshire with my name on after looking into the sun all afternoon. Had a great chat about state of club with fans around me made the game bearable. Spurs were crap we were abysmal just such poor quality and no idea how to mark and get close.

The disallowed Spurs goal summed us we played it to Archer it bounced off him  that put Matty wrong side, gave away free kick that we allowed free header that went across goal for player to score unmarked .
7 more rubbish performances to endure this season.

At least the Guinness after was perfect.

I left on 80 got a train straight back. I didnt see the disallowed goal was in the concourse. My 8 year old said to me today that the best bit about yesterday was half time. Dibling's lack of effort was shameful.

I didn't mind the gallows humour yesterday but the clapping at the end was just plain weird.

The fans should have been on their backs much earlier in the game. The lack of effort was completely unacceptable, particularly in the first half. I’m surprised anyone was there at the end anyway let alone thought it was appropriate to clap them (quite unbelievable).

Out of interest did you support the Burnley “white lives matter” plane banner?

I think neither the WLM or BLM banners are helpful. Can you answer my question though? I’m finding it really difficult that there appears to be no explanation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of deflecting and speculation. No facts. It’s interesting

I feel like I’d be wasting my time explaining it and further.  Most others seem to get it, including the club that has been charged and basically accepted they’re at fault.

You havent explained it and wont waste your time  because the only answer is the use of the word 'foreign'. Sorry you cant make lots of comments about these people being extreme racists and then not justify your position on why their banner is so terrible.

Interesting that you think there’s nothing at all wrong with the banner yet the link you provided shows that Rangers themselves find the charge “deeply saddening and frankly embarrassing”, they have no intention of contesting it and seem prepared for the penalty that will come from it. Maybe Rangers have got an agenda too and are overstretching themselves.

What wording in the banner is discriminatory please? Also I dont think the establishment of Rangers are held in high regard.

The other actions by the fans in relation to missiles, etc clearly cant be condoned but they have been charged for the banner. Again, the question please?
