  1. We brought in: - Gaston - J Rod - Clyne - Yoshida - Davis - Boruc We also had Luke Shaw and JWP come through the youth team, and then we brought in Pochettino half way through. We also released loads of players who had helped us up on free transfers or on loans (Harding, Sharp, Hammond, Barnard, Chaplow, Butterfield etc). We finished 14th on 41 points with 9 wins.
  2. More of a spine than the majority of posters on here, that's for sure.
  3. Not sure what your point is here? Leeds have new, very rich, owners. The take-over has been in the offing since May. I would assume that he is on a very long contract and they have convinced him to stay due to that, and the lack of any decent offers from the Prem. That article also says Leeds have a price set at £30m that Everton couldn't meet?
  4. He did, he refused to play. Leeds haven't got an acceptable offer yet, that's all - the only one they got was from the paupers at Goodison.
  5. Or an Air Fryer! But seriously, have you got an air fryer? They're incredible.
  6. One thing to really take into account is that last week we won away at a half decent Plymouth team, despite losing JWP, who has been a constant for so long and an incredibly important player. Smallbone also went off injured and Alcaraz unavailable. Then this week we've lost Tella and Adams, and no Smallbone from the start, and beaten another decent side. There has been a huge amount of chopping and changing, and how we've managed to get to 10 points from a possible 12 is really impressive to me. Much kudos has to go to RM and team.
  7. No, I'm not missing the point. The point is that RM said he was very similar to AA, so why do we need two similar players. What you or I think is irrelevant.
  8. Thats your opinion, Martin feels differently (as shown in his interview in July where he compares the two) @Fabrice29dug it out a couple of days ago.
  9. We were told what happened yesterday if you like to believe a lot of the rubbish in X - we had no guaranteed buyer for Adams due to Everton's inability to pay for than £1 a year for the next 15m years, so couldn't bring him in, or we weren't interested due to him being too similar to AA in style. Either one not on SR in my opinion.
  10. Listened to the interview, and yes it's an interview, but doesn't seem the knobber that he's made out to be.
  11. This post wins the thread.
  12. To be fair, if I were them I'd be protecting my investment. Not popular, but money ain't free, and add in relegation and we're probably looking at circa £200m shortfall with last year's shit transfers. Add to that FFP, and it'd be interesting to see if we CAN'T spend right now as would lead to future problems that we won't be able to deal with.
  13. Oh well, if a team like Leverkusen come knocking we're not keeping him, however hard you try.
  14. But what circumstances have changed? Nowt. If we keep 3 of those players then we should be fine. Embarrassing pal.
  15. Unfortunately, you've backed yourself into a corner, and are trying to weasel your way out of what you've said previously, and changing the goalposts. It's fine to say "Do you know what, I was wrong when I said that", or that you've "re-evaluate" what you said. You'd garner far more respect than the rather embarrassing backwards shuffle you seem to be doing now 🤣
  16. And certainly Amo-Ameyew. Edozie is nearly 4 years younger, and SAA 7(!) years younger. So if we sell Tella (which if Leverkusen are in for they are a much more attractive proposition for him), we will have Edozie, Sulemana, SAA, Fraser, maybe Adam Armstrong to play in those wide positions. Honestly, I'd take that. I think we just need to wait and see, there is a clear deadline from when we can judge the squad we have for the rest of the season. I realise that being reactionary and premature when judging the team probably mirrors your life, but just calm it down everyone.
  17. And yet its also been reported that we never bid for him, so which is it? I'm assuming it's the one that fits your agenda.
  18. Why is everyone ignoring Fabrice29's post from yesterday? Russell Martin compared Piroe to AA, and how they had the same qualities. Why would we sign someone with the same qualities as a player we already have? From what I can tell we were never in for Piroe since it was clear AA was staying. It's not a missed target if we never wanted him.
  19. Do you genuinely believe that they are not doing this completely tongue-in-cheek? I don't imagine they're PMing each other wanking off about the fact that some people just may be believing their brand of bollocks. Just take it as what it is, it's genuinely funny, as they're taking the tropes of the transfer window and adding a satirical take to it.
  20. Genuinely, if we wanted him, there was room in the squad, Swansea were willing to accept our offer, and he wanted to come to us, he'd be here. I would say one of those 4 things isn't true, and so it's not happening at the moment. It may mean we miss out on him, but them's the breaks. How good actually is he as well? When in the Prem I'd never heard of him, and Prem teams are clearly not interested even at that low price. Only had 17 goals last season from open play in 43 games (same amount as Tella) and 21 in 45 the year before. I've seen a lot of talk of a 30 goal per season striker - Piroe is not that in my opinion, but I may be wrong. At the moment, from the sales and purchases over the Summer so far, I'm happy to give Wilcox et al the benefit of the doubt that they know what they are doing.
  21. No, only RB, he doesn't have much Diversity and can only really move in One Direction.
  22. Are you joking? He's betting on himself by doing the Bundesliga jump - one good season and he ends up at Bayern or Borussia - huge wages and Champions League football. Much better than Burnley and then a move to Everton/West Ham.
  23. Look, Che. I rate him, but mainly because of his hold-up play and his ability to pick a pass. However, I think people may be overstating his contribution this season. Yes, he has scored some vital goals, but both the Wednesday goal and Plymouth goal I could have got into position and scored. Norwich was half decent finish, but if you don't think we can replace that with another striker for £15m than our scouting department are fucking rubbish. There is also the fact that if he scored 25 goals this season, and we got promotion, then he would be our main striker next season, no doubt. So we'll offer him a bumper contract, and then we'll be stuck with him. Do we want to go through all that again? The bitching and moaning that he's missing easy chances? I can't really do it again. For me, sell him, chuck Villa £20m for Archer and be done with it.
  24. I've watched him in depth for the last 6 seasons, and I see a player that is great on the shoulder of the last defender, with a very decent finish and a thirst to score and win. Insane signing.
  25. Spain leading the tournament in possession and passes. But as we all keep getting told, that's not the way to win matches, let alone tournaments.
