The Ramsdale signing feels like a real statement of intent from Russ. I know he was very quick to defend Gav last season but I truly believe it's because he was the best we had. Not because he was his first choice. Remembering Bazunu was brought in prior to Russ's appointment I thnk this speaks volumes about his true opinion on the matter. If he felt Gav was a nailed on number 1 we wouldn't have aimed quite so high on bringing in a replacement. Nor permanently. I think this is going to go down as one of the best bits of business we've done for the longterm future of the club in over 10 years.

Agree, feels like this is more the player pushing for the move than us wanting to move him on. As such £10M is a good fee for a player in the last 12 months of his deal.

Happy to be moving on from JWP. Great servant, club legend but we’re building something for the future here. I was always tought by a mentor of mine to always move forward in my career even if the opportunity to go back to something familiar presented itself. I think it’s good for the club to do the same thing. Small exception for Lallana given where he is in his career and the coaching aspects.

I had read that there is still 20-30 mil available to us on estimate before any further exits. I don't think we're in as dire straights as many believe. Just being smart about how we spend.

I like Cornet. One bonus is he's actually quite sound defensively. Could be an option at LWB when we play a 5.

I think Tyler is much more effective in the 10 when he can pick up the ball and drive centrally.

If I was heading up the marketing team at the club I'd have definitely ordered a Hargid costume in advance for the reveal.

I do agree but I think Matty Fernandes / Lallana and or a decent winger might have a bit more about their game to actually find him. Moreover I think Archer is a better bet to start centrally. Was pretty happy with his sharpness VS Cardiff.
