No, I hope he is playing the long game and thinking "A-HA!!!! Oh how they will lap up the return to their beloved stripes next season, when we are in Europe.........."

Disagree.
Home shirts reflect the identity of the club, away shirts are disposable and temporary items and therefore are never usually remembered (although our yellow shirts hold an affection due to the cup win/final)
Use of Red and red alone on the home and dismissal of white on the away is not right.
Otherwise known as self presevation. I suspect that it was a careful leak to gauge opinion. I also suspect that the leak didn't provide the full perspective.
Now excuse me, I need a new foil hat.
Well, say what you will about the importance of fabric, but the news story on the front page has generated 800 views in just 4 hours, that I believe is unprecidented.
With Black shorts and white socks, not all red, it's the entirety of the strip I don't like, not just the shirt itself, I had got used to the idea of that.
Not all red, not once as a home strip. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm
I liked the Sash, it had historic relevance. I had accepted the idea of the Red home shirt, but the strip as a whole is just not Saints.
It's fine as garments go......
If you are a Forest or Liverpool fan. The away kit is fine, but that home strip.... wrong.... We do not play in all red. (Well, until this season it seems.)
I meant more in the all red all white away/home combo. I was ready for the all red shirt, not the all red kit. That is not a Southampton kit. As items they are not bad... they just bare little semblence to the club I support.
