So what if it is copied and pasted? I thought people that don't use the SI Forums may like to read it.
Would at least be worth linking back to where you got it from. It otherwise propogates false myths that you're some kind of oracle on FM (as demonstrated by the 'will this affect this question below), when in reality, you're a researcher and have little authority over others to answer such questions.

Nice copying and pasting there.

Wonder whether we could tempt them with a loan followed by a permy move in January? They added 2 strikers around deadline day + have Iwelumo & Deeney already. Perhaps we could offer £3999999 as a loan fee with a permanent deal for £1 in January?!
Unlikely, seeing as their other strikers are either crap (for them)/unproven (Garner) and Sordell is literally their only vaguely reliable attacking outlet at the moment. Maybe in January, but most likely not on loan with a view to a perm.

A lot of has to do with the massive financial disparity between the clubs. When it comes down to it, there are very few winners in football - and too many people who think that winning is all that matters. This includes sponsors and fans. How else do you explain the depressingly high proportion of glory hunters in our midst? Sounds like that phenomenon is even worse over there.
You might look at the recent winners of the EPL and think that we're heading the same way. Difference is, no one believes that Manchester United or Chelsea are unassailable. Clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City are spending shedloads on that premise, and there is every chance that the likes of United can be supplanted if the conditions are right.
Another difference is that we have Premier League clubs dotted around the country, and plenty of local support for them. The departure of Deportivo means that three whole regions ( Castilla-y-Leon, Galicia and Extremadura - over 6m people combined ) have no La Liga representation.
As for my initial comparison with Scottish football; yeah, might have been a bit harsh. Motherwell.
How populous is pretty much the whole South of London? The same is the case in the PL. No South-West, South, or South-East (but more southern than London) have any PL representation whatsoever. East Midlands is pretty starved too.

Hmmmmm - Fermats last theorem I believe - there is no solution to this
Infinite solutions, unless we specify that x,y,z are non-zero integers. Also, Fermat's Last Theorem was for the case x^n + y^n = z^n for n>2, the case of n=3 was proven long before Wiles, a proof using infinite descent is pretty straightforward.

Danny Wilson would be perfect.

How is it a year behind? The game starts with you taking over a club in early July 2011, so his rating reflects him at that point. As of July 2011 in real life, he hadn't proven himself to be a top Championship player. He does however have a high potential rating, so he will improve as the season and your savegame progresses.
There are clear inconsistencies within player ratings within a squad, as I assume the Burnley researcher will have done Jack Cork, a Dutch researcher De Ridder etc. and their CAs will be a fair amount higher than some members of our squad (particularly Lallana, Fonte), when in reality this clearly isn't the case. Were I you, I'd have boosted them in a relative sense, that'd at least see Lallana on a par with Cork (something which presumably won't be the case, from your comments).

Seabourne going the other way?

'On top of A levels' ..exactly.
They are not a sensible or credible alternative to A levels
It was a course offered by the school to only the most gifted pupils, purely because they were a lot more demanding than A Levels, both in the sense that the summative assessment was on one exam (taken at the end of two years) and one piece of coursework (more like a mini-dissertation, than usual courseworks) and because the course was much harder. More than a credible alternative to A levels.

I expect our squad to have players pushing for 130 CA. Lallana and Fonte have to be over 120 at least.
I reckon Cork will be the only one with CA anywhere near this.

Don't know how much you have to do with UCAS as opposed to reading Cambridge International Board's propaganda, but if you look at the most recent official figures some 250,000 went through UCAS into uni, 45,000 BTEC National or similar, only 2500, the IB and 680 .. yes 680... the pre-U. It's another place for weak independent schools to hide from competition.
6 people in the year below me (the year having just got their final results - at a state comprehensive school) did the Economics pre-U, two of those are going to Oxford, one to Cambridge, one to LSE, one to Bristol and another to medical school at UCL. On top of doing 3 (or 3 and a half) A Levels, it's hardly a way of 'hiding' for weak independent schools, based on the people I know who've taken it and the way in which it's packaged to schools like my old one.

I really hate how derby games are scheduled at some ridiculous times. I've got a save where a Saints Pompey game had a 5pm KO time! How unrealistic, I hope SI sort this out for the next version. Almost spoils the game for me.

so, what do you want to do with your life...what are your ambitions, what job do you want, what sort of cash will you realistically earn..?
If you read the thread, you'll be aware that he's applying for Medicine. Definitely no career prospects with that option...

This really isn't true. IB is well regarded by admissions tutors, and the equivalence with A-Levels is carefully calibrated. For example, 32 is the same as ABB, and 34 is AAB. IBs turn up in pretty much every university admissions tutor's in tray.
I agree, since A*s began being put into offers (multiple courses asking for 2A*s), the equivalence level seems fair. Before that, however, asking for 42 (some Oxbridge colleges) when A level students were being asked for AAA, was wholly unfair.

Ha, that's not the plan... gonna be in education for a few more years yet! I will have to reapply to university next year though, was rejected flat out for medicine this year.
Had a friend last year who got four rejections, only one interviewed him. Ended up with 4As (maths, bio, chem, english lit). 4 offers this year. Good luck for next year, Medicine is a lottery, but with grades in the bag, you'll probably have a winning ticket.

FWIW, footie manager has Rodriguez with a potential ability of 140, thats 5 more than maynard, I beleive MLG said that this is the most important stat. :-)
Which will probably be have increased in the latest version if his potential has improved in the eyes of the Burnley researcher (I'd put a lot of money on the fact that he has). Whereas Maynard probably hasn't had an increase in his PA, having been injured for too long, the researcher unable to justify any potential PA rise as a result.

Fair enough. My last word on this topic: I also consider myself a "live-and-let-live-atheist" . But fundamentalist religion (especially the "Bible belt" variety found in the US and the "jihadist" type of Islam) does get me going. I did a degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies at university, so I certainly respect people's beliefs and faith - but religious extremism does need to be recognised and condemned.
One can understand the scientist's dismay with the sort of religious fundamentalism that rejects obvious scientific fact (creationism, for example). And science, furthermore, does recognise that new theories and new evidence arise to challenge previous understandings.
I consider science and religion two distinct versions of reality. When "religious" people deny scientific truth, or scientists deny that human experience contains other "realities" than scientific truth, I think of it as a "category mistake". Often, the so-called conflict between science and religion is based on this failure to recognise that category mistake. Two ways of experiencing the world that should not be confused or conflated.
The problem comes when we consider physics to be our metaphysics. To claim that science irrefutably demonstrates 'what there is', would lead to the scientist being right in attacking the religious 'way of viewing reality' (for if we know what reality is ('what there is') and can show it to be incompatible with what another claims it is, then we can dispense with that view). Unfortunately, the scientific method can bear little claim to irrefutable proof, though this doesn't seem to stop many people believing that it does and making fallacious dispensations of the claims of religion.

The very same social networking site that said Wimbledon was riot bound on Tuesday.....?
Because the site itself provides all the information, as opposed to input from users. The site is to blame if it was wrong, as opposed to the particular user providing the information.

Met him the other day. True story.

Whilst not unexpected, I was beginning to believe the fact that we were doing things a little differently from other clubs and selling AOC is a blow to this theory. I really hope we use the money to sign a cracking right winger for competition, a 20 goal a season striker and a solid cb. If we do then we will be in the playoffs no doubt.
Manchester United sold Ronaldo. Arsenal will sell Fabregas. Barcelona sold Figo. Every player has his price, we certainly didn't buckle immediately, and if the reported fee is true, we're just keeping in line with our competitors (Manure, Arsenal, Barca...).

The game's steam-only this year, so that requirement will be there for all versions afaik.
