  1. I once got promoted from concourse catering to waiting in the Mick Channon suite and then promoted again a few weeks later to an executive box host, once looking after Posh Spice and a baby Brooklyn Beckham.  That’s got to be up there with the best, surely?

They'll have parachute payments in League One, would be an almighty fuck up to not challenge for promotion. They have a huge financial advantage.

As was getting relegated with them, no?

Nobody is paying 40-50 million for Dibling.

We'll be lucky to get £20m for him.  He's not as good as people seem to think.  Admittedly been far too overplayed this season but he's got a long, long way to go.

  4. Worst keeper I've ever seen for Saints.  Bar none.  I'd genuinely have Angus Gunn ahead of Bazunu.  "Oh but he's great with the ball at his feet..."  Put him in midfield then because he can't shot-stop to save his life.

  5. Playoff final last season.  It was the day my son, aged 5 at the time in his 2nd ever match, fell head over heels in love with football.  I was off the drink the time (not that I have a problem or anything 🤣) so fully indulged his request to get into the ground 2 hours before kick off to watch the ground fill and atmosphere and anticipation grow.  Then for us to score to go 1-0 and then hang on for the win, I was so overcome with happiness and sentimentality that I shed a few tears.  That said, it was tempered by the fact I knew this season would be a struggle, although admittedly not the complete and utter shambles it has turned out to be.

  6. Another awful, bizarre and pointless hire by the clowns at Sport Republic.  I almost feel sorry for Juric.  Not his fault he was offered the job but he was out of his depth from day 1.  Can't wait to see what next avantgarde appointment out of the left-field they decide to bring in next.

He picked Bree and Aribo at centre back when there were other options available. And after that experiment proved to be a disaster he did exactly the same in the next game. With the same result. (Other examples of his coaching insanity can be provided if required)

We were better last night … I still don’t want him anywhere near the club next season.

Against a Palace side who in league terms are well and truly already on the beach.  Keeping their powder dry for the cup.

  8. This cunt has got to go.  Wolves at home and he’s playing 5 at the back with no recognised striker up top.  Clueless.  Kudos to SR, another gem of a hire 👌🏻

Ralph's time here had run its course.

Yeah maybe but I know who I’d rather give £40m to to bring in 2 players in January and it’s not Nathan Jones.

SR bought Saints in Jan 2022.  They sacked Ralph in November 2022 and then signed Tall Pall and Sulemana in the Jan transfer window just after.  My point is, there was money to back Ralph but instead they decided to sack him and give Nathan f*cking Jones the best part of £40m to piss up a wall.  A luxury that a much more capable manager in Ralph was never afforded.

Blimey, we signed AA in August 2021.  Time flies when you are watching complete shit.

Wasn't Armstrong signed before Sports Republic, fairly sure he was in 2021. (when we had to watch every penny). I remember we had to sell Target to free up funds for Salisu (i think it was Salisu).

The summer 22/23 and the winter of 23 was when SR put their money in, and that's one thing you can't hold against them. They have put money in, more than we've ever been able to put in at PL level - the scouting has just been horrendous, which is why we are where we are.

I see a lot of fans saying that we're where we are because of a lack of investment, but it couldn't be further from the truth in my eyes. Maybe we still focus on that 15m ballpark too much and fill the squad up with those types, rather than 1 or 2 £30m's, but we have been spending money - just really badly.

This is true....however, whoever decided on Armstrong was taking a gamble (or trying to be "clever") which didn't work.......was that Ralph? Obviously AA is brilliant in the Championship, but is unable to cut it in the Prem. What we needed, although probably couldn't afford, was a Prem quality striker to replace the one we had lost.

Of course we could afford it.  Just 6 months later we spaffed about £40m on Sulemana and Onuachu.

  13. None of them.  I think I genuinely mean that too.

Realistically, there is a player in Fernandes but he will want out the minute the season is over and I fully understand that.

KWP has wanted out for a couple of years and I can't really blame him.  No way he's signing a new contract here.

If we can get our money back on THB or potentially a small profit I'd drive the bloke there myself.

On reflection, I'd keep Ramsdale but I'd be astounded if he didn't have some sort of release clause/fee worked into his transfer here.  His agent wants shooting if he hasn't.

Dibling is a prospect but thats all he is.  He shouldn't be a guaranteed starter.  He still needs to be managed and learn the game.  Tries far too much stuff.  If we can get a fee north of £35m, that money can be put to better use bringing in 3 or 4 experienced/professional heads to change the culture of the club.

Every one else can get fucked.

I can't argue with that, but posts like "the players are unfit" or "the players don't care" only seem to appear when we are losing. Defeats sure do hone the fitness detection eye.

We are losing every week handsomely.  I think its a pretty valid conclusion to reach don't you?

  15. Feel sorry for the bloke in many ways.  He's walked into a complete shitshow and a squad full of players who aren't of the required level, irrespective of the formation or tactics selected.

I just cant help feel that it would be a huge mistake to let him continue at the helm next season.  He needs to go the minute the final whistle of the last game of the season is blown.

With that said, I'm fully expecting Sports Republic in their infinite wisdom to double down on him and award him a 5 year deal before spaffing our entire parachute payment on yet more avant-garde shit from the continent to come and sit on our bench.

  16. He made some terrible choices following his stint as Saints which massively stagnated his career.  If he has waited a little longer and chose a better club than Reading at the time, who knows what was possible.

A fantastic servant to the club in his time here and a thoroughly nice bloke but lets be honest, he benefitted hugely from the resources available to him at the time and the fact we were a big fish in a small, League One shaped pond with a project that saw players like Fonte happy to drop a division to join.  Not to mention resources already at the club like Lallana and Schneiderlin.

Sometimes best to leave things in the past though and cling on to the happy memories of them than ruin them with almost certain failure this time by bringing him back.

It is hard not to laugh a bit , he also removed stewards £50 Christmas bonus I think, seems incredibly petty but losing a lot of goodwill

Feel sorry for the non-playing staff but they've had it very good for a number of years and it can happen to employees of any other company type so I won't lose any sleep over it.

I have to laugh when Rio Ferdinand complains about how unfair it all is when a few years ago he was flippantly saying Newcastle fans should be grateful for how Mike Ashley ran Newcastle.

That Jim Radcliffe takeover has been a total disaster for Man Utd, funny to watch it all unfold though.

The Glazers have always been shit, so everyone assumed this would be better - but he's gone a bit Elon Musk on them all!

He's gone completely Mike Ashley.  And I've got all the time in the world for it.

Meh, doesn't really make much difference this season whether he plays or not and who knows what the situation is going to be in the summer.  It's in Downes interests to get it sorted though because it's a small pool of potential suitors who would be interested and capable of signing him.  Assuming Ipswich go down then I'd be surprised if they offer us anything close to getting our money back.

Not too fussed over the attitude stuff - no one knows the full story and players redeem themselves in the eyes of fans all the time.  Wasn't that long ago Bednarek was supposed to have a bad attitude, Puncheon was similar too.

What we'd do for a Jason Puncheon now.  To think he couldn't get a game here towards the end.
