Something i've noticed is that when Liverpool first got in trouble two weeks ago, everytime I turned on TalkSport the narrative was 'Saint's should let him go" "Who do Saint's think they are?" but now VVD has gone strike and you would think TalkSport would have a proper story to talk about, it seems to have gone a bit quiet. Is it possible that someone at Liverpool has got hold of TalkSport and said,'Don't stir this up again, we could probably get this deal done, and we don't want to **** Saints off again'

Two comments from Tom28's post (whether you believe he is ITK or not) that struck me, if it is true:

- Fairly amicable meetings by all accounts given the circumstances and the fact that they basically hate each other.

- Apparently, VVD has softened a little and would consider moving to another top club besides Liverpool. He's totally hell bent on leaving though.

 

What happened after last summer to make LR and VvD basically hate each other? After all a year ago Virgil seemed very happy to sign a year's extension, get a pay rise and be promised the captaincy and LR must have felt the same way. I see this comment as implying their hatred for each other pre-dates the Blackpool incident, maybe I am wrong. Also why is VvD hell bent on leaving, why has he lost all respect for the Club, what is it that has made him this way, ths doesn't happen because he is offered a move elsewhere, you can get that and still think highly of your current employers. Something inside the club is not right but unable to put my finger on it. Not many of our players who have been sold in the last few seasons have left with good grace (SRL being the obvious exception), it is not just the money or the lure of CL football, they mostly seem to leave with a degree of bitterness.

New agent who will only make money when he moves , Players generally don't change agents without having a plan to make changes in one way or another !

If he puts in a transfer request and anyone but looserpool pay 65m for him jog him on , 75m no add ons he goes to the dippers or he stays should be the only 3 options now imo !

I hope he's being fined all his wages while he's "on strike" I wouldn't get paid if I refused to carry out my duties at work so neither should a millionaire footballer!

I don't know about you but if I really wanted out I'd of put a transfer request is ages ago ....

To be honest i'd be happy with a creative midfielder obviously Sigurdsson would be a ideal candidate however don't think we would splash that much on him. Also like others have said somebody to play alongside Romeu another Wanyama type tank player is what we need.

 

If we upgrade those two positions then happy days think we already have alot of talent in the squad we just need to be able to capitalize on chances and work on finishing.

Have you seen much of him? A lot of hype as at City rather than genuine appraisal IMO. Having said that would've liked us to have him but didn't really deliver from what I saw last season. Really big clubs don't often let gems go.
