Why does the club feel it necessary to tease it's fans (customers) You either tell us, or don't tell us. Same as we choose to buy or not to buy.... but as all retailers will tell you most sane people don't buy 'unseen'
-
the only player that Peterborough have that I wish we would sign is BOYD
-
that was the second time he said it in the interview, now go back to the first time a minute or two before..
-
Just listened to the interview and the exact words were "we have put a bid in for Jack Cork. the fact is it is the only bid accepted by Chelsea" He didn't say 'so far' but it is a fact Chelsea are still open to further bids should they be forthcoming.

well, he has NEVER let it be known he is keen on signing for us, despite our bid being on the table a week before. Face it if he were interested in us he would not let be known publicly he was keen on another club, would he.

one of many links two weeks ago http://londonthenews.com/news/Sports/20110618/23311580/West-Ham-interested-in-Chelsea-midfielder-Cork.htm " Cork is keen to move across London and join Sam Allardyce's new-look squad."
-
Adkins only said we had a bid accepted by Chelsea for Cork, he didn't say he was likely to sign. If he was going to sign Adkins would have stayed silent. In any case Jack Cork has openly admitted publicly he is interested only in West Hams offer. It's been in all the press, and on all the relevant forums including on here. Adkins was only trying use the Cork bid as an example of intent

What a coincidence at 7.40 this morning whilst waiting to get my ticket someone behind me asked one of the security men if we were going to buy any players. He replied there will be money to spend if required!!!:lol::lol:

we had our bid accepted weeks ago, Chelsea said yes, but Cork no.

No I didn't notice it amongst that lot.. The thing is though I started a thread that gave us an opportunity for a giggle, at a time where news is very slow. It was pounced on by a tiny minority who have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves. Over 60 years I have supported this club, and one of our endearing characteristics in those long years of ups and downs is the humour amongst all of our fans. Some on here take themselves too seriously, and want to spoil the fun for all.
-
I understand what you are saying, but you are ignoring the whole point of this thread. The reason we must sign players now, if we are to sign them, is because of the new ruling that will be in place next year. Other clubs, with equal ambitions as us realise this and have stole a march on us.
-
I think the complaint was that it was not 'newsworthy'. FFS at this part of the year if we censored or moved threads for that reason there would be very few threads on here. I am fully expecting those anally retentive ones to object to this thread as well.
-
I see the whining minority have got there own way again on here, and had this lighthearted thread moved. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?30979-nice-signing I despair of some on here. Only last week I renewed my membership on here, had this happened before that I definately wouldn't have wanted to To the administrators on here, get a life and stop cow tailing to few who have no sense of humour.. The last few weeks there has been less and less threads on here, maybe you should start to ask those whiners to start a few instead of whinging and whining about others that are encouraging conversation. I don't give a rat's ass if this leads to my being censored in any way, but if you do over this, I will know you want this place not to be for the ordinary joe, but for those who think they are above the usual banter and humour of a NORMAL fans forum.. I will be just another figure amongst all those who don't come on here anymore, because of the snooty attitude of few that are want-a-be censors on this forum.

Matthew, relax take a couple of deep breaths and read this http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_mb.php?m=v&t=30214#0 that'll cheer you up.

because it highlights how much of a laughing stock we could become, and it also shows that some of us haven't lost our sense of humour

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanuel_Benito_Rivas quote After being scouted by Derry (Southampton FC's legendary tactician and leading coach) he signed for Southampton FC in June 2011 for approximately €157,000,000 on a forty four year deal. On signing, a Southampton spokesperson said "How do you like them apples" which was clearly aimed at all the doubters on the saints webby forum thingy. He has fast become a fans favourite at the south coast club, and talks are under way with sculptor Ian Brennan to create a statue of Rivas to be erected outside St Mary's Stadium. A court order is currently being arranged which involves Rivas and fellow footballer Lional Messi. Southampton looked to have wrapped up a deal for Messi from Barcalona for over one thousand pounds however the deal was stopped when members of "The Saints Forum" objected and demanded Rivas instead, Nichola Courtsea the Southampton chairman took notice of the fans and opted for Rivas instead. It was later announced Southampton were trying to schedule the trial on the same day as his Saints team mate Lee Barnard as they are looking to be signing atleast 3 players a day and are too busy to have 2 trials going on at the club. unquote gotta laugh, or cry ,,,, haven't you!!!!!!!

that his ST gone for this season....AGAIN
-
If we are to compete... next season will be too late http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/10062011/58/championship-league-adopts-uefa-finance-rules.html If we have any money to invest in the squad, now is the time. This new ruling will stop us flexing our financial muscle next season. Unless of course you think our squad is good enough to get us to the Premiership. Next season (2012-13) the relegated Premier sides will have increased parachute payments that will give them an even bigger advantage.
-
well, if we have any money this is the season to spend it. The new Fair Financing rule comes in next season, and the only ones that will be able to spend big will be the relegated clubs with their massive parachute payments. The Premiership are not implementing it. they are drawing up the drawbridge to stop ambitious clubs with money threatening them. TAKE NOTE NICOLA

24 Jun 2011 09:28:39 Billy Sharp is signing for Southampton today subject to a medical, after Doncaster Rovers and The Saints agree a fee of £3m + Joseph Mills. above copied from Donny fans forum Ipswich bid £2.3m yesterday and had it turned down. All DRFC are saying is they have had a £3m + Bid in for him this morning from another CL club.

I was castigated by a few when I revealed that our "two insulting bids" for Matt Philips, then of Wycombe WFC, lead to the Wycombe chairman refusing to take calls from our club.
