  1. Someone was also told Martin O'Neil owned a house in Winchester. It turned out to be bull**** then and I think this is pretty unlikely as well. Excuse everyone for taking it with a very large pinch of salt.

    It's not.

    It's a done deal

  2. Doubt he even managed to have an interview yet if he was being considered and he's already renting a house

He's only managed internationally bar 1 poor season at Bayern Munich.. It's not going to happen.

    What I have heard.

It would make sense in control of the whole youth set up in America.

We want to branch out in America.

Think you should get used to the idea from what I have been told.

  3. With respect, outside of Everton FC (I.e. its supporters), no one gives a f*ck (and I'm not saying that to be cruel/petty). And I'm not sure you could get more trivial than that list anyway....dugouts  At any rate, Koeman hasn't signed for any of the reasons you listed, so it's something of a mute point.

I would have thought that Everton inventing the 1-11 on squad shirts would have tipped it over the edge????

  4. I'm Sorry, I feel I have to reply on behalf of my Everton friend. You clearly don't understand the history of our club. Let me enlighten you with a few of the many facts about Everton.

    * Founder members of the Football League in 1888

    * Founder members of the Premier League in 1992

    * First club presented with the League Championship trophy

    * First club to be presented with League winners medals

    * First club to stage an FA Cup Final in 1894

    * First English club to go on an overseas tour in 1905

    * First club to build a purpose-built football stadium

    * First club to have a four-side stadium with two-tier stands

    * First club to have a stadium with a three-tier stand

    * First club to issue a regular match programme

    * First club to have a player score 60 league goals

    * First club to wear numbered shirts, 1-11 in 1933

    * First club to install dugouts

    * First club to install floodlights

    * First club to install under soil heating

    * First club to play 4,000 top-flight games

    * First club to amass 5,000 league points

    * First club to play 100 seasons in the top flight

    * First British club to stage a World Cup semi-final

    * Have been in the top division of English football longer than ANY other side

There are more trivial ones I could quote and I haven't mentioned titles or cups but you get the picture. This club has more History than any other club in the country and Everton fans are rightly proud of this fact. So to compare us to the likes of Wolves and Burnley is misguided and foolish.

I will admit that the love of that history combined with 30 years of frustration and over excitement has led to some ill advised, condescending and downright nasty comments by some of my fellow supporters, but I am sure you will agree there has been an equal amount of vitriol on behalf of some of the Southampton fans.

We all love our clubs and we want what's best for them but there is no need to turn it into a hate campaign.

To clear up some other points made on this forum regarding the so called "ambition" of the club. As I see it, a site on the Mersey waterfront has been identified for a 55/60,000 seater stadium which with Everton's large fan base it will fill, together with a massive improvement in corporate revenue (which is nearly non existent at Goodison) and stadium naming rights will massively increase revenue for the club to be able to compete at a much higher level financially. Obviously the biggest resource is the fan-base and the new stadium.

As for poaching managers, that's football. It happens. Personally I hope he doesn't go back for any of your players, Its not that they aren't any good but just that we would have to pay vastly over inflated prices.

finally, before you say it, no I don't have a job as I am retired after working for the same company for 30 years. I went to my first match in 1971.

First club to issue regular club programme......Jesus wept

  5. So taking your manager isn't a sign of ambition ? lol, you've got no counter argument whatsoever to that.

I do not believe I was arguing, I don't really care to be honest.

Managers and players come and go, Majority of Southampton supporters would have expected this to happen at the end of next season its just come a season earlier.

If clubs do not want our manager and players then we are doing something wrong

And I would also suggest most Saints fans don't care about Everton's "ambition".

Enjoy the new manager but how about you just enjoy it with like minded Everton fans?

  6. Blue in peace here lads.

Koeman will be confirmed tomorrow by all reliable accounts. Talks have been held up due to your end dragging their heels. It seems you were confident Ron would stay in spite of our interest and have spent the last few days approaching managerial targets and working out compensation terms, which is understandable given the narrative that Everton couldn't take Southampton's manager.

Preventing player poaching might not be a great concern for you. Granted, there are one or two that Koeman might want to take along, but the appointment of a DoF and the new owner's own targets mean it's unlikely you'll loose too many. I suppose your biggest concern could be Forster. It's unlikely we'll take VvD unless we sell Stones, which we'll only do if there's an offer significantly in excess of £40m.

Hopefully this won't sour relations between the two clubs too much in the future. I think it's natural that Koeman would want to take the next step and, like at Feyenoord, he will hopefully be remembered as doing great stabilising work with your club as you transition from feeder club to a solid PL outfit. Great progress, really, and your board should be commended.

Glad you don't want VVD......... Not another one to the Everton massive.......

Honestly mate just do one - as has been said before you are the only clubs fans that has come on here giving it some. Small time, Chip on your shoulder, Bin dipping, We are a massive club ******s

  7. Maybe you are shopping in a different market, and if you continue to pay massively over-inflated fees and wages than maybe 'world beaters' will come without European football as our manager seems to have done. Maybe your new owner might need to find more than 100 million quid, maybe he won't. One thing for certain is that nobody really knows because at the moment it's just a lot of hot air.

If I were an Everton fan I'd be reserving my proclaimations of greatness and superiority until I'd actually seen tangible and quantifiable improvement, but each to their own.

Whatever happens, good luck with it - I think you'll find most Saints fans genuinely got over Koeman leaving and turned the page several days ago.

    This 100%

In all honesty I just want him gone.

Its annoying me the delay, makes me feel while Les is dealing with this he is not dealing with our new manager.

I honestly could could not care about Koeman - But I do care that he gets out the bloody door ASAP

  8. Another golden quote:

A benefit of getting Koeman will be the reaction of the Southampton fans, a lot of whom seem to think finishing 7th makes them comparable to us. Southampton lol

Hopefully it would send them in to a spiral, back to the lower leagues where they belong ;) They will inevitably end up back there at some point, like the rest of these yo-yo outfits.

Caveat - Knowing Everton, it could all still go wrong

Are we really a Yo-Yo club?

  9. All this talk about their huge transfer kitty, i was wondering just how much are we prepared give him? before sales of course. It must be a really uninspiring figure if he's prepared to leave us. Also is their squad really any better than ours? Only lukaku would get into our xI. Fans on their forum are right pr*cks aren't they? Calling us a yoyo club.

Just been told they are a sleeping giant buy one delusional bin dipper.

In all honesty they are just another Aston Villa, had there day in the sun a long time ago.

Villa may be even a bigger club then them, they are the biggest club in there city at least

  10. Some of there quotes on Everton forum:

"All the Southampton fans are having a meltdown and many of our fans aren't that impressed, it just shows you, it's all about levels, they're a nothing club"

"So they should be...they are still Southampton...small town near Portsmouth"

"On the plus side, if it is Koeman maybe he will poach Tadic, Mane, Van Dijk and Forster"

"Still Southampton though. Typically a yoyo club."

I have never read so much arrogant & deluded tripe on any other fans forum - even Pompey online.

Since when where Everton a football powerhouse?

  11. now martinez has gone and we get a proper manager in, you wont though will you? your like the 'ammers thinking your bigtime now because you have finished above us for 2 seasons. you've had your best seasons and still achieved......nothing.

there was a premier league you know pre-2012?

EFC are a bigger club than Southampton, FACT. not that it means much, 'bigger than southampton' mind... (small time!!)

21 years ago you won your last trophy........................... Bit of a drought as well I would say.

And yeah there was a Premier League pre 2012, from 1992 - 2007 Southampton where a premier league club.
