I think allowing all banned users back on wouldn't be a bad idea tbf. All the people I remember from the good ol' days are gone. Would be good to get some banter back.
I'd be intersted to know who you'd want back out of the banned posters. Most of those who were banned got banned because they were racist, homophobic, abusive to other posters, wind up merchants, serial spammers or a combination thereof. Can't see what having them back will achieve.

Fully deserved, although you can hardly say it was a mistake releasing him. He looked lazy and overwreight and was probably on big wages. Add to that he only scored 5 goals in his last 2 years at Saints and it really was a sensible decision at the time. Agree about Heskey too. Useless donkey. How on Earth can successive England managers see something in him. How he kept Beatts out of the England team in 03 I'll never know.
-
This suggests then that they took the upcoming changes as a personal slight against them and their judgement.
That's not the case personally. Initially I was happy to reapply, but after thinking about it I decided the 'job' just wasn't fun anymore. Can't speak for anyone else, but personally I've been feeling indifferent towards this board (the content, not the way it was run) for a while. I just took this as an excuse to jump ship.

Now it's in the echo can we move it on to that thread please.
Ta.

I think saying he should never play for us again at this stage is getting ahead of ourselves a bit. First of all the full story is not yet full known, secondly hundreds of players have been convicted of various crimes at various clubs and they haven't been fired. They caught Steven Gerrard on CCTV punching someone in a bar and nothing more was said about that.
-
Let's be sensible here. They were Champions League regulars a couple of seasons ago, they aren't going to get relegated... no way.... not going to happen. Just ask Leeds and Newcastle.
-
*shudder*
If this sort of things becomes seriously commonplace in the future we could see an end to such masses of human beings all in one place. Football matches behind closed doors maybe...
No, that would be ridiculous IMO. I'd imagine if something like that happened we'd just get a lot of armed police at large public gatherings. IF there were to be an attack on something like a football match, I'd hope people don't give in to the terror and live in a world of fear.
-
Awwwwww. You're nice.
In all seriousness though, thanks. It's much appreciated.
-
Definitely did the same in 02/03. Didn't score for ages, got a hattrick against Fulham and couldn't stop scoring after that.
I seem to remember him starting that season with a penalty too. Think it was away to Villa. Enkleman got sent off and Steffan 'Can we do it this way tonight' Postma came on to pick it out the back of the net.
-
It's not an assumption, it is based on what I have been told by someone who really would know. Maybe they make an exception for you ?
Well, I would know too and that is incorrect.
-
Fair point and you are right. Ponty I believe, just wanted to be thanked - just a little bit - for the time he had put in. There was none. Neither Steve or Baj have uttered one syllable of private thanks or acknowledgement for the time the mods have put in. No surprise either that they haven't posted on the St Landrew thread. It is shameful the way they have been treated.
What are you basing this assumption on?

That's 18 so far I make. Should be going to Notts Co in a few weeks. Posh, Bournemouth, Hartlepool and Orient are the other new grounds I might get to this year. Swindon is the only place I've been twice.

I'm no defender of any faith, but I think some less well-off Catholic families might have an issue with that.
And, in some ways, large families benefit all of us in the future, when we need young working people to pay for our state pensions and healthcare.
Sorry, meant the no benefits for more than 2 children bit.
Trying to think of a way to stop teenage slags on council estates from having 4 kids by the time they're 20 all on taxpayers money. Other than a general cull of these retards and their offspring, I can't think of anything.
-
Why give them cash benefits at all. Just give them tokens which can be exchanged for food at their local supermarket.
Agree on the two child policy too.

I noticed a few weeks ago that the list that showed who was online was wiped from the programme, which I thought was odd and made me think Baj wanted to hide some changes to the mods, so I think this is old news but has only just surfaced. So who is still an Admin and who is still a mod? I'm a little confused because it appears Arizona is still an Admin (more powerful than a mod as presumably he has greater access to the guts of the forum so to speak). Some clarification would be appreciated.
Correct.
AFAIK we were all "administrators" except Landrew who was a "mod". Nothing personal against him, he was just recruited at a different time as an extra "mod" IIRC. As for who's left... It seems to be just Steve, Baj and myself until the new mod team is installed. As I understand it they will just be "mods". I.e. able to moderate the forum but not able to administer changed to the website.
-
So you all resigned en masse?
No.
Baj and Steve have decided to start afresh. We have decided not to apply for a possition in the new mod team. There is no resigning to be done. We just didn't apply for a new "job".
-
What I don't get is why all the mods have been sacked. It's a bit of a kick in the teeth no matter how you try to paint it because barring one mod (who I won't name) I really can't fault them. It's done now so that's that, but imo it would have been better (albeit needing more guts) to just sack the ones you didn't like.
No one has been sacked. We were all offered the chance to carry on, but none of us took it.

Just for the record, he mass exodus is nothing to do with he way the site is run or any disagreement between mods.
We've all just had enough of dealing with the small minority of w**kers who "contribute" to this site. Best of luck to Steve, Baj and the new mods for the future. I will stick around till he new team is in place, then it's Saints Web suicide for me too.
-
Okay, I think this thread has run its cause. You can rest assured we are doing something about the way this site moderated. IN the meantime please try and hold fire.
-
PNE fans wanrt usa to take him - they think he can't pass and has no heart.....hope they're wrong....
Don't think he qualifies for American citizenship. Probably why he ended up here.
-
So you're enjoying your moderating job atm then?
When did I imply that? It's completely far removed from the point I was trying to make. Why do people think Saints fans are so unique.
Every club has moaners
Every club has racists
Every club has abusive loudmouths
Every club has Loud singers
Every club has a prawn sandwhich brigade
Every club has a scapegoat player
Every club has opposing players they don't like
Every club has opposing players who hate playing against them
Every club has fans who are just plain retarded
Every club has sensationalist internet message boards.
-
No, but we must be near the top of the league for moronic moaning
Fairly sure fans of every club say that.
-
Well I know for a FACT that Steve is in the process of buying an expensive **** pad in London - how did he afford that, huh? I'm calling the police and putting an end to this fraud.
I assure you that Steve's affluent lifestyle is purely the result of his Gigolo service and nothing to do with Saints web.
Anyone remember this?

I like watching the last 3 seconds of that video just for the slow-motion, mass facepalm of the Manc fans.
Altogether now...
