I fully accept he settled the squad well on arrival, overcoming the ‘scar tissue’ etc.

If he wasn’t such an arrogant bellend his time with us might be remembered more fondly.

Don't disagree with you on this - but, as with most things in life, look forward to what's to come as opposed to dwelling on the past.  The past can't be changed, the future can

  2. What a bunch of miserable sods there are on here.  Still analyzing every word Martin says and trying to poke holes.

He gave us a memorable season in the Championship (and let's not forget the absolute mess he inherited) and was way out of his depth in the Premiership but left a long tme ago.

    Time to move on methinks.

To add further to my pro Edozie stance.

Similar to Smallbone they both showed enough quality in enough games to convince me they can do a decent job for us at Championship level.

Are they nailed on, first name on the teamsheet type players...of course not .

I'm assuming we want a squad of players , not just a first 11 and imo these two would do a good job for us as they both proved in the 23/24.

Edozie is shite, end of.  He's had years to improve his end prodcut, including in a League weaker than the CHampionship, and has not done so.

He ran the holding company into administration and close to financial ruin! Not sure he should be giving them advice!

Selective history there......i was Wilde and co that drove SFC to the birnk of oblivion and Lowe came back to try and mend it all (but was unsuccessful).

And he's quite right - that is discrimination and the whole DEI woke mindset is an absolute travesty.  Hire people based on their merits.

A bit like Max Alleyne to Man City a few years ago then.

Ive never actually hear of this kid going to Man United, nor do I imagine many have on here.

Seen a few on social media give it the old “disgraceful by the club”, I’m pretty confident they’d never heard of him either.

People forget he is 15/16 years old, there’s on a very select few that go on to make it higher up after signing for bigger teams at a young age. Some never fulfill their potential.

See Jimmy-Jay Morgan who wanted £10K supposedly at the age of 17 to stay at Saints and is now plying his trade in constant loans in League 2. 😂

Thing is Morgan is 18 (maybe 19 now?) and will be a top, top player.  He was banging them in for the Chelsea U21s and was successful in his loan spells.  Whether he will ever play for Chelsea is another matter entirely........

I think he has the potential to be very good in the Championship, if managed correctly. From his perspective, he's come to a team where he thought he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet and that hasn't been the case. He hasn't helped himself but then he's had two awful managers that haven't really played the way that suits him. Chuck in a load of behind the scenes upheaval and it's not hard to see why he's unhappy. Pretty much every player in that squad has underperformed this season so he's not alone.

A settled manager could make all the difference.

As ever, utter nonsense spouted by you.

He has shown absolutely nothing to demonstrate he could be very good in the Championship.  He is an extremely lazy player who appears to rate himself way more than his actual talent levels.

The genius who thought recruiting him and BBD from a dreadful SHeff Utd (relegated) team would make all the difference this year shoudl be shot!

  7. What a season, the number of records we are breaking is insane...

    1) Earliest any team has been relegated from the PL

    2) MOst home defeats in a season in history

    3) Most defeats by the club in a top flight season

And still on track for the biggie.......

We cannot start next season with Stephens or Bednarek at the club. So poor at their jobs. Bednarek ran at the passer but then backed off and from there it was easy.

You either run at the ball carrier OR back off, if you do both, you're dead. Easy basic stuff, but for those 2 it's ingrained.

That, and always diving in at the ball, you might get away with it once or twice but it'll lead to many goals against, penalties, and own goals.

Over and over and over again...

Rubbish - Stephens has been excellent this match and cares passinoately about the club.  More than can be said about the others

  9. Ramsdale, Stephens and Fernandes are the only ones to come out of the game with any credit.  The rest are total shite.

All the love for KWP - don't get it.  He's been poor all season.

What an utterly depressing time to be a Saints fan.

  10. Don't know what has happened to Dibling but he now looks terrible.  Very disappointed in Rusk's tactics....we were never going to keep a clean sheet with those tactics.  WHat an utterly patheitc shambles of a club we are

4 goals in his last 9 starts is very good!

His age is irrelevant to his current goal threat.

AGreed - his minutes are the equivalent of playing 10 games this season - which would put him at 15 or so goals for the full season.  In an utterly shit team

  12. What an abysmal team we have.  What on earth the point of signing Archer was I'll never know - lightweight, billy big bollox thinking he's way better than he is.

Can't wait until we get rid of half of this squad.  Spineless, pathetic, talentless

  13. With absolutely nothing to lose, and this first team squad being completely gash and almost certain not to get us another point, now is the time to try somehting different in preparation for next season.

Play Payne and Bragg - KWP is off, Sugawara has been dreadful and time to see if Payne can do a job at RB (always looked promising and did well on loan).  Likewise would Bragg be any worse than Lesley, Smallbone, Aribo or Downes?  Somehow I very much doubt it.

Bring in the young French guy at CB and drop ABK who is the tin man from Wizard of Oz.

Play Jay Robinson up front (or at least have him on the bench).

Start seeing how many of the U21s could possibly do a job next season in the Championship.

Man Utd have not been shy of introducing plenty of Academy graduates this season (although some were forced due to injuries) and they have helped turn Utd's season around.

I would be more than happy to never see the majority of this first team squad every play for Saints again.

ABK, KWP, Sugawara, Manning, Lesley, Downes, Aribo, Sulemana, Archer, TP, THB (amongst others) have no backbone and are awful.

  14. As unplatable as it may seem, there just isn't enough interest in womens football to make it a money spinner or to maintain interest.  I believe the crowds in the top flight are very low so there isn't going to be the money sloshing around to support it.

  15. Thought this was worthy of its own thread.  The younguns are playing some wonderful attacking stuff but the defence is all over the place.

Some decent looking players coming through, 1-1 nearly HT.  Very entertaining and a much better watch than the 1st team

  16. That was about as bad from Saints that I have ever witnessed.  This club is rotten to the core and I wouldn't trust them to make a decent cup of tea.

For manager and player recruitment, if they put a blindfold on and threw darts at a wall they'd have a higher success rate.

THis manager is beyond useless and his obsession with 5 at the back leaves us wide open every single game in midfield.

I'd honestly not care less if, of the starting 11, we were only left with Fernandes next year.  But, along with Dibling and possibly Ramsdale, he's our only sellable asset.

But Juric better not be here beyond the end of the season.  He's starting to make Nathan JOnes look like a genius

There will no doubt be a few posters on this thread off to the Magic Kingdom to watch the tournament: those who obviously have a problem with anybody  on the LGBTQ spectrum and make their feelings known. Bless, they're obviously a bit insecure in their masculinity. I've never known confident guys to have any worries or need to comment.

The same applies to the comments on 'woke'.. pesky need for equality and talking about it eh?

Mind you, having taught English as a Foreign Language to some from that neck of the woods I  reckon I'd probably be safer than some of you lot. Like public school boys they feel safer with guys...

What absolute, utter drivel.  Nothing to do with issues with equality - people should be able to live their lives how they see fit if it doesn't harm anyone else - but having politically correct crap forced down your throat every single day and people - like you - offended by the slightest little comment is an absolute joke.

A bit like the mad rush to say how wonderful women's football is when clearly it is a massively inferior product.  How are the crowds for womens football these days and should they be paid the same as the mens teams?

Yeah as much as it seems juric is another bad appointment, I can’t fault anyone for throwing abuse at these players.

    They’re all fucking pricks

But no-one was saying this last eyar when we got promoted.  The players are simply not good enough for the PL - that fault lies with the club recruitment not recognizing this.  Bringing in 2 forwards from a relegated, very poor Sheff Utd side was an act of madness, let alone many of the other signings such as Cornet, Fraser, etc
