http://www.communitywalk.com/footballgrounds Handy map with all the usual zoom in / out, directions etc that clearly shows the location of all 92 teams (plus some Conference ones). Some of the teams have since changed divisions (ie Dagenham) but still a pretty good map. Anyone got a link to any other similar ones?

Well it's down to the post-season knock-out stage. 12 teams left. Odds: New England Patriots 2/1 Pittsburgh Steelers 6/1 Atlanta Falcons 7/1 New Orleans Saints 11/1 Philadelphia Eagles 12/1 Green Bay Packers 12/1 Chicago Bears 14/1 Baltimore Ravens 14/1 Indianapolis Colts 16/1 New York Jets 28/1 Kansas City Chiefs 50/1 Seattle Seahawks 100/1 For me the Colts @ 16/1 is the value bet and I'm still sticking with my prediction of a Saints v Colts rematch (Broncos & Bengals didn't quite make it...) Anyway - where's St George gone? Or is just getting to play-offs no big deal for the Saints anymore?
-
You guzzling a case of Miller High Life? I ain't - I'm sat at f***** work. Very surreal listening to a live Saints game at 10am on a work Monday morning. 1-0 to Saints today (and that'll do nicely thanks).

Beating a promotion rival 4-1 is a great result. I can easily see Saints winning their next 5 league games. Here's to a great 2011.

http://uk.launch.yahoo.com/c/uk/single_charts.html Shocking to see so many Xmas songs in the top 75. Who the hell buys the piped Xmas music to play at home? Also shocking (to some people - be warned) is Number 66 - good to see that 'thingy' and his gang sold more than the Beatles this week though.
-
*** 'Feed the Skates - let them know it's Christmas time'. *** Jingle Bells.... jingle all the way - oh what fun it is to see Southampton win away. My fav has always been the old classic though: *** Away in a manger - no crib for a bed The little lord Jesus looked up and he said... If you all hate Pompey clap your hands...

Sorry Born but gotta laugh. Just who the hell designed the Minnesota Metrodome? Hadn't they heard of snow before? Pretty lucky there wasn't a game on when the roof collapsed...
-
Can't argue with that too much - bar the Saints. Colts did the biz last night. If Titans had gone for that 4th & 1 then who knows - thought it was an awful call at the time and hindsight (for once) proved it so. I hope the NFC west winner is 7-9 and loses to the Saints in the final. F#ck the NFC east and it's constant coverage. Hey - I see Sky are showing the Redzone for the early game for the last 3 weeks. Do you know if this is commercial free (as the Redzone is in the USA?). If so - then it is worth a watch. I usually watch it before/after the Broncos game instead of choosing a full game to watch.
-
'Born' - are you in the USA? Or can you watch the NFL Network online over in the UK? Big game tonight on there - Colts have to win. In fact realistically Colts have to win their last 4 games. Not out of the question though. Yeah Quinn is the Bronco's 3rd QB. He's had a few plays but hasn't looked that good. It's a bit hard to when you know you ain't the starter though. When he came from the Browns I'm pretty sure Peyton Hillis was part of the deal going the other way. He's been racking up the yards as the Brown's running back this season. Hindsight is a wonderful thing! With 4 games to go there is a lot to play for out there. I can see the Colts, Saints & Packers coming from a game behind to win their divisions. The Saints @ Atlanta game is huge. The winner of that could well end up as the No. 1 Seed in the NFC. I can see Saints winning that and going on to win the NFC again. Now there's a prediction...
-
I honestly couldn't begin to guess who the Bronco's QB will be next season. NFL QB's are hard to find though and although Orton ain't a world-beater he is a good, steady NFL QB. Tebow is the unknown quantity. Will he play much over the next 4 games? Will he be good enough next season? I just watched an interview with Studesville. He definitely has a bit of a presence about him. Wonder if he is in with a proper shout of the job full time? As for the Vikings. You don't need a new QB - all you need is a wheelchair that works well on a muddy pitch as I'm sure Favre would give it a go.

Arabs? Interesting. I was wearing a Saints shirt the other day and got chatting to this city-type bloke in a local bar. He'd had a few and swore blind to me that a consortium from up in Chicago are monitoring a lot of English football (he obviously said 'soccer' here) clubs. Since the death of ML this has included Southampton. The Liebherr Group are a well know company in the USA and his death did get the odd line or 2 in the business press. It wouldn't mean jack sh#t to me - it's not as if Saints are gonna start playing in Chicago - but having American owners would increase the interest in them over here. Bring it on I say. I'd love to see some American being interviewed as Saints owner. You lot would be going bright purple as soon as he said something like 'we need to get some more offensive plays in'.
-
Shame. I really liked him at the start. Didn't mind going away from the norm and showed a lot of passion. Sadly this season didn't go as well as it could have... Eric Studesville comes in for the final 4 games with nothing at stake apart putting in a claim for next season. Broncos to beat Cardinals on Sunday could be worth a bet.

It's not a 'Yank site' - but it does allow American players (unlike a lot of Poker sites out there). You get players from all over the world using it so you never have to wait long to get a game - whatever time of the day it is. Lots of Sit 'n' Go's and DoubleYourMoney tables. It is the World's largest online Poker site so the choice of games as a whole is excellent. I like the . Do other sites have this? You press it and it shows a replay of the last hand. You can see someone's mucked cards without having to look at the hand history. I also like the 'find a player' feature (again - do other sites have this? Surely yes?). If you search for a player on your table and it turns out they are playing a lot of other tables at the same time then you can pretty much guarantee you know how they will be playing. They will only play premium pocket cards when the blinds are low and will shove (in position) with any old crap once their 'M' value starts getting low (approx 10 big blinds or less). They rarely bluff after the flop. You can hide yourself from the this search feature but not everyone does. Far from it. Sign up and play a few free-money tables to get a feel for it. It has the usual bonus stuff if you use a code when you sign up http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/promotions/bonus/ These are never quite as good as they sound but if you play a lot you will get something back. Better than nothing. What other Poker sites do people on here use? As you can see us USA based people struggle a bit since that poxy UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) bill got passed by Bush in 2006: http://www.internet-poker.co.uk/US-Online-Poker-Sites-Accepting-USA-Players/ That's why if you are on holiday over here you can't use your Betfair account. Nothing to do with Betfair - all to do with the UIGEA bill. Anyway - that is another story for another day. Good luck on the tables everyone. -

Get off of Sky Poker free money and get on Pokerstars real money. A lot of us can then see how good you really are. -
1st beer sparked and bring on the 1st game. Instinct is to want Detroit to win but I've got Brady & Green-Ellis in my fantasy team. Saints @ Dallas should be good - good test to see how good Saints are at the moment. I think they've upped their game again (but so have Dallas). Saints to win quite easily though. I reckon the Jets luck could well run out. Bengals to spring a surprise in the last game. My hope of a flash storm in NYC didn't happen this morning. Shame.

No - it's all over America. Cricket just isn't a popular sport. To watch it on TV you need to get 'Cricket Ticket': http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/cricket This is pretty expensive and I expect it's mainly the Asians in the USA who subscribe to it (as cricket means a lot more to them than most other people). I expect some Asian places do show games - as to whether they show them legally and to the public? Well that is another question for another day... BTW - I like the vision of loads of ex-pat Aussies & Brits turning up at a bar because they are 'showing the Ashes' - only to find that this viewing consists of some guys laptop on the bar connected to a dodgy stream. A good stream (like off the $14.99 a month http://www.willow.tv cricket streaming site) linked to a TV could please some people though. Better than nothing. About time the USA got a test match cricket team together.

maxi - do you have any UK bookie accounts? Have you tried logging into them whilst over here? Any luck?

You are on the East Coast so 3pm UK games are at 10am on a Sat. You must have some cracking Friday nights if you see that as really early. Fair play! I can just see the steam coming out of the ears of those people who live over on the West Coast. They have to get up for 7am to listen to the game. Now that is what I'd call proper early. Sat mornings in the USA are pretty good. Early Prem game, then the Saints game on the radio (with choice of Prem game to watch with the sound turned down on the TV), the late Prem game and then the weekend starts. If you like the NFL then Sundays in the winter are pretty good too :-) Though right now I think I'd rather be in a pub in Southampton building up to the Brighton game....
-
What channel is the pub showing it on? Channel 2024 on Directv is showing it. Gawd knows how much they will charge you to watch it. I assume it isn't free. One good thing though is that you will be able to avoid the score ok if you are taping it. Just don't mention it to anyone and you won't hear a thing about it. Cricket isn't a great topic of conversation between Americans. Personally I can live without it. I miss snooker & darts on the TV way more than cricket. Enjoy your stay in MA. I hope you like snow!

+1. 3-0 up. Crowd in full-swing (including the corporates!) and Solent turn the sound of the crowd down. It's part of listening to it on the radio!!! Clueless. Sadly the Pboro commentary is too rough sounding to listen to - although you can hear the crowd (they are still there). Seriously Solent - sort it out. It's now like listening to a game over T******d Rec. Sounds like 'one man and a dog' are watching.
-
Maybe. We'll never know. Anyway time to put the incident to bed.

Good news that all 5 were proven innocent in a court of law. Bad news that they even had to go there in the first place. What a farce. A quick 'get the f#ck out of here or else I'll nick you' would have stopped the whole thing going as far as it did. Not letting the Pompey fans out at the same time would have stopped it happening at all... The powers that be didn't want that though - did they? Good to see justice prevail (for once).
-
Don't come to the USA to escape it. It was the main story on the news last night. Though it is quite funny watching it from the American angle. The funniest part was when when Prince Charles was given subtitles (they often subtitle a news story if it is a Scottish, or Indian or whoever with a bit of an accent - but Prince f#### Charles??? - that was funny....) Anyway - time to play 'Better Dead Than Wed' a few more times. Surely a new version of this classic 80's tune will get released?
-
It's a stupid law. A pub should have the option. This would suit everyone. A pub would have to (by law) either have a 'Smoking Allowed' or 'Smoking Not Allowed' sign. Pubs would soon find out what sort of pub they are and increase business because of it. It would also be nice if they had to have a 'Kids allowed' or 'Kids not allowed' sign. I guess the 'powers that be' won't be happy until every non-chain shop and non-chain pub are closed down. That's the way things are heading...

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8635544.Saints_fans_keep_up_remarkable_away_following/ 1,000+ at each game is good going - how many if we'd been doing really well? A lot of us are there in spirit. Have a beer on the train for us.
