Maybe - but despite all the 'poofs pads' a lot of players leave the NFL banged up with various injuries. If it is a very tough sport to survive in. Just thinking what sport I'd like to be top in. Praps golf? Good money, get to travel the world, nobody trying to break your legs, not too much hassle from the crowd. Yeah that'll do.

I like American Football. I hate commercials. If I'm not on a beer/p#ss break then the button comes in handy. Time to pump up some tunes or whatever. Once you get to like/understand the game then you learn to handle the constant breaks. The cricket analogy is a good one. Try explaining (to a non-cricket fan) why you will watch a game that can last 5 days and end in a draw cos it started to rain. To get into American Football you have to first watch it with someone who knows what is going on - so you get to recognise when a play is bigger than others. 3rd downs are big - some bigger than others. If your 1st question is 'what the hell is a 3rd down?' then that's when you need someone to explain the basics & take it from there... Same with cricket. You are 250/9 and need 260. One batsman is on 139 n/o and the other is some bowler just in on no runs and whose highest score ever is 7 n/o. It's the last ball of the over and the 139 guy gets a single. The crowd goes crazy. It's obvious why - isn't it? Not if you don't know anything at all about cricket it isn't... Anyway - who's looking forward to the new baseball season then?

Laughing at the early posts in this thread is nothing to when you read the Newc v Arse match thread on the Sunderland msg board: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=567881 They are obviously loving every second of it as Arsenal start racking the goals up...

http://www.everythingon.tv/channel/view/sky-sports-2-2 (as above) is working fine for me at the mo. Got it dragged fullscreen onto the TV and is well watchable. Try it again now.
-
Nice one. Can watch BBC, ITV etc on there. As others have SS2 seems to be down at the mo though.
-
Apart from football songs then 'Let's f##### Riot' by Suburban Filth is (I think) the only song ever to mention Totton in it's lyrics. For this reason alone then songs with f### in the title are fine by me.

If you were a well-known player wouldn't you just love to book a flight to somewhere and watch all the rumours start to fly. 2 hours to go. AOC staying at Saints is good enough for me.

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=206024&start=130 Then afterwards I totally agree about the ref being got at. The free kick on the Kingsland (Chapel end) touchline that led to their 1st goal was never. Saints couldn't breath near one of them without the t##t blowing his whistle.

What provider you on? I'm sat here now watching Everton v Chelsea on FSC in HD. The Saints game is in HD as well. Dish had it in HD a lot of last season. Directv have shown games in HD from the start of this season.

Even though I've long had the ITV & BBC videos/DVD's of the 76 Cup Final there is something special about watching it 'live' on TV. Luckily - if I join Hairclub they will ship the info to me in a plain brown envelope. Come on you Saints! 2nd half just started.
-
That's nothing compared to what Joan Crawford used to have up her Robbie Fowler.
-
Yep live on FSC - in HD as well. Also on FSC. Friday night 8pm ET is the whole of the 1976 Cup Final. I'm gonna have to watch it (yet again) just for the sheer hell of it! It's just great flicking through the TV guide and seeing it listed. I wonder if the ads at half time will be for hair restoration, anti-zit cream, weight lifting stuff and foreign phone calls? Anyone watch Sky Sports News at 7pm ET on FSC+? Was good to see an interview with Nigel Adkins as the main story. You just can't turn on USA TV without seeing Saints stuff....

Was that the Sunday game? I remember that cos I had a score on Saints at 4/1. Only because the day before I was at a Totton game and this old geezer kept saying 'I've got a feeling' (quite a few times) that Saints would win the next day. After guzzling a few pints I got that feeling as well. Wish I'd put a ton on instead (but sadly wasn't that p#ssed by the time I put the bet on). Anyway - yeah we were an ok Prem team at 4/1. Now 2 leagues down and we are only up to 7/1.
-
No 8/1 on there at the mo. Currently it is 8.2 (which is 7.2/1 - less commission). There was a bit of 9.2 on there (now gone). Come Sat there will be a lot more traded so I expect bigger odds will be around... I honestly thought I'd get 20/1 somewhere. Man Utd ain't lost all season and after losing to Leeds last year I don't think they will take the game too lightly. Praps the bookies are just trying to make the odds match the 1976 Cup Final - they are similar at the mo.
-
I was thinking I'd find something like 16/1 on a Saints win. Nowhere near that is available though. Best widely available odds out there are: 4/9 Man Utd 7/2 Draw 7/1 Saints Some bookies even have as at 6/1. To put it into perspective Villa are currently 10/1 to win at Old Trafford next week and Everton are 7/1 to win at Arsenal. I guess the bookies expect a weakened Man Utd team - hence our odds being not that big. Anyone putting any money on the game? I probably will still have a sneaky fiver on Saints @ 7/1 (just in case...). For those doubters I guess you will be lumping on Man Utd at 4/9 then? Seems like quite a good price actually.

I say it every year. One year I'll be able to say 'told ya so'. I would rather be saying 'told ya so' when the Broncos win the SB in Indy in around a years time though. If it is a Lions v Broncos SB then I may just mention this post... (the police do have helicopters).
-
Shame you copped out and put the Patriots in that prediction. As a Broncos fan I'm just glad Cutler bottled it - would never have heard the end of it he ended up with a SB ring. Not so obvious teams to look out for next year: AFC: Broncos (of course) - but why not? 2nd in the draft picks and a whole new set-up. Tebow to shine. Bengals - get rid of Owens and play as a proper team like they should have done this year. NFC: Rams - McDaniels will get the best out of Bradford Lions - all those top draft picks will finally come of age.

Great spot. That is quality. Can anyone turn that into one of them .gif things? 'Doing the Fratton Walk'. (top middle = guy with black jacket and a bit of green sticking out). His mates must have ripped the sh#t out of him for that.

http://www.facesofthefans.com/?team=37170 Anyone from this forum on one of these videos? It sure ain't Hollywood (no 2nd takes allowed).

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/home-games/ On Pokerstars you can now set up what they are calling a 'home game'. Basically means you can set up games where just you and your friends play. It says you can set the buy-in etc. Sounds good. So we could have a Saintsweb tourny. Any mods play poker? Perhaps a mod could create a league, set up a tourny, make it an announcement and see what happens? Wouldn't have to be a big buy-in. Just a fiver would do. You couldn't have it too high anyway as it would be easy to collude with other players. Or even have it as a freeroll with the winner getting a free year's membership of this forum. A Sat night would be best so anyone from Australia, USA etc could also play. Praps once a month? Anyway - just an idea.

FFS - I'm just pee-ed off that people say 'Fergie'. That's a media thing - the manager of Man Utd is blah..... double FFS it's not 'Fergie'.
-
Perfect! Means it'll have a cracking atmosphere and just after midday is so much better than 7am. Plus I'll have 2 games to watch before it to get warmed up. Any USA Saints wanna come round and see it? Let's have a party :-)
-
Just to clarify - I am talking about the 2012 SB that is in Indianapolis. Not the 2011 one in Dallas.

A man is sitting in a bar looking depressed when a woman approaches and asks him what's wrong. He tells her sadly that his girlfriend just left him and, after some pressuring, admits that it was because he was just too kinky for her. "What a coincidence!" exclaimed the woman. "My boyfriend just left me for the same reason." The two hit it off and, after a few drinks, decided to go back to her place as it was nearest. The woman left the man alone in the living room and disappeared into the bedroom. After 10 minutes she reappeared dressed in full leather and chains, with whip and ballgag in hand only to see the man about to leave. "Where are you going?" she asked. "I thought you were kinky?" "I am," he replied. "I just f#cked your cat and just took a sh#t in your handbag. I'm off home now."

I'll 3rd that. Still my most hated team and always will be. Them coming back from 3-0 down in the European Cup final a few years back was the worst thing ever to happen on a football pitch. Did you notice just how many 40-ish year olds (with non-Scouse accents) suddenly became massive Lpool fans again ('well I've always supported them haven't I'). I actually find it quite hard to watch them on TV - just in case they win. I will watch the Man Utd cup game though. I hate Man Utd less than I hate Lpool so come on Utd - stuff em out of sight. I don't think they'll go down though. A few wins in a row (which sadly they are capable of) will put them well out of danger and towards the top 6. I'd like to see Man City win the league. I don't hate them (yet!).
