The Echo have jumped on board today with a full page spread so I doubt this is anywhere near being put to bed yet. -

Well it's a better concept than Dave's original one, granted! -
Predictable. England were always going to get charged with failing to control their players/staff. Its how FIFA/UEFA "work", and how they'll completely sidestep Platini's statement in 2011 where he said that if Serbia didn't clean up their act they could face expulsions from international competition. Expect a fine for Serbia and a slap on the wrists, a sizeable fine for England too, and it all to be brushed under the carpet. Yet again.

I'm imagining this article is not going down with the fanbase quite as well as Simon Peach intended....... -

If anyone is in doubt about a feud between Cortese and MLT then they need their head's seeing to. Even my mum who knows zero about football knows that there's bad blood between the two. As far as I'm concerned, MLT has two realistic options: 1) Say what his problem with Cortese is, and why its damaging for the club. Or damaging for him, from a personal stance. 2) Keep his powder dry and stop using his various contacts within the media to provoke the feud whilst offering no realistic opportunity for anything positive to come out of it. MLT seems to have taken a line of not saying what the problem is yet continually dredging up again, either by him or by his associates. Its childish, stupid and needless. And sorry, you may think its news but for me its just cr*p gossip with utterly no substance to it. -

Yes, its a complete non-story dressed up in a new sensational headline. "Cortese is utterly horrible!!! but I shan't tell you why". I think in the "get a grip" stakes you need to look a bit more inwardly. This is the epitome of sensationalist, non-story journalism. God help us, because Simon Peach is normally a very good journalist. Sadly he seems to have fallen into the trap of the sensational headline with utterly no substance behind it. -

You've answered your own point there then. Matt didn't want to say anything. Therefore there's not really a story; or at least not one of any note. This is just rehashed non-information. -

What exactly has he "shed the light on"? How are we in any way more informed than we were prior to these groundbreaking revelations? -

And how does it "get to the truth"? -

You only need to read MLT's book to see how he chooses to re-write history surrounding the bid, and has never really admitted since that it was indeed a sham. Rather than just admitting he was duped, he portrays it as "in the end we just couldn't get over the line." He further embellishes that by suggesting that the reason Pinnacle didn't work out was because of FL conditions surrounding the -10 points, and that the document the FL provided for takeover did not rule out further sanctions, and so Pinnacle pulled out at that point allowing the Liebherr group to nip in and "catch up" instead, thereby pipping Pinnacle to the post. There is not one mention to the fact that Michael Fialka was the money man and, well, didn't have any; its a duplicitous lookback of history and he'd be better off just being honest with himself and the fans. -

Absolutely **** article Simon. Lazy journalism and offering nothing new at all. Dress it up all you want, there's **** all meat in that. -

Yep. Put up or shut up. Matt is a legend but makes himself look rather daft and petty with all his sniping. i think we all know that Cortese is a bit of a tit, but griping about it without actually saying why is just childish. -
New York New York is just down the road; a lick of paint and a spruce up, that'll do.

I'd get her to eat some food so that she could supplement her extremely pretty face with the curves and body of a woman rather than a 10 year old boy. Sorry, Jay; that one was for you to answer, not me. I'm getting ahead of myself.

He probably just waves his payslip in disgust at my perpetual nonsense. And who can blame him?

It really wasn't; certainly not for the accommodation in most of the cabins. I can't think of many top end hotels that have no windows, like the inside staterooms (of which there are/were an awful lot. Or that have as small rooms as a lot of the regular outside cabins. Only the suites and higher-end staterooms would suffice in their current incarnations; perhaps not even then.

Brown bear. The one on the right.

Pah, I could shot put a small penguin over, no trouble. And I'm not a profesional athlete. I reckon, with a good swinging technique, I could launch over a small, 1 year old bear.

Wes, being located in LA, does that also lend itself to decent weather (i.e. would that type of thing work here?) I've only ever flown into/out of LAX before, never stayed, so have no first hand experience of what you're saying. That also seems to lend itself to an overall image of "Britishness", which we've kind of got everywhere here already! But a top end hotel is an interesting idea; logistically pretty difficult but plausible I suppose. Could that work?? Genuinely interested to see if it could actually be made into a tourist attraction or something worthwhile here, other than being moored up as a token visual note to our history.

Does he feel the burden of expectancy is weighing heavy on his young shoulders after a £6M+ transfer, and does he attribute that burden to his under-par performances to date? Nah, best off not asking that one actually.
